DAng this explains so much. I've played football all my life, but I have smaller hands. I can never get a tight spiral on bigger footballs, but now I understand why. I need to put my pointer (index) finger further back on the football.
this guy knows his stuff, i've played qb for 6 years now, and i completetly agree, expect for maybe the feet part your back foot shouldnt be like that it should be your front foot that points and in the end your feet should make and L
thanks man! you really helped me out. we are planning to make a team on my school and i am the quarterback. still i sucked at throwing and i could not figure out how to throw the ball properly. with this, i might just be able to become a good QB!
GReat, i think missing is that you need to take larger steps(drop back). Other wise you may get sacked, and it will be harder for you to see the field because of the lineman. Great video btw, very nice. Good luck to you man
You ball should never be near your ear. My coach once caught this bad habit of mine. He told me to run 30 yards with the ball 4 times in my hands and every time he took note of where the ball was in relation to my body. Guess what? Every time i came back to him he pointed out to me that the natural position that my arms are in is at chest level with the ball perpendicular to the ground. So what does this mean? The ball has to be where you are comfortable with.
the object of the video wasn't to show how good he was, the throw at the end was just to show the throwing form, it didn't matter where the ball went.
mate don't even argue because you will know you will loose, it is obvious he isn't trying to throw far or fast. what did you mean by your comment " I can throw better than you... "?
I know, that was the whole point. he could iether not say anything or say what he meant like further or faster. if he did he would have been whiped because like you can see that wasn't the object of the vid.
shut up little kid. if your better than he is why the hell are you watching a video on how to properly throw a ball? he is just showing form, not how far he can throw it. this is why everybody hates 13 year olds so damn much.
whoa.... i believe you man. i believe the "i am 13 years old" part. i don't want to bother about your passing skills. i watch this stuff to learn to be a good qb, not to brag myself if i am one.
cool...this relly helped cause at my niddle school we r starting to play flag football and i have no clue what so ever how to play, neither do the peopl eon my team lol we r soo going to lose the tournament
some may differ: telling you instead to shift from back(ball of your foot)to planted front. w ear level preferring chest/shoulder. higher release pnt might help. maybe "thumb at your pocket" is an old coaching exaggeration to finish follow thru & should be at or just below chest level (leave your arm there to practice touch passing). Small diffs btw technique but this is a great thing. Mobile WR now QB- keep eyes downfield & practice going from run to stable, don't throw cross body.
Hey man thanks a whole mutch dude that really helped me! :D And just in case ... I didnt want anyone to get confused about somthing he said. He said throw the ball towards your reseiver, thats right but if the resiever is running from left to right or right to left you will have to throw infront of were the resiever is running to. It is a little tricky but you'll get it down. - Please ignore my spelling >:p -
Thanks nice video the only things that I really can't get the hang of is holding the ball up to my ear I feel I'm less mobile and the part of my game that I like the most is my ability to get yards on the ground if anyone has any advice at all for a wide out that's trying to become a QB pls let me know TY!
hahaha, if you have you worry about DE's like John Abraham you don't need to watch this video because you're making millions and can throw the ball however you want.
jaifool is right, u don't put the ball next to your ear. Because it is way to easy for the blind sided defensive end to come around and knock it out since its so wide open. But if you hold the ball to the numbers, you are more protected against those quick blind-side DE's like John Abraham. If you hold the ball next to the a just a little above the numbers and below the neck, the wind up won't be slow like Byron Leftwich.
Awesome video, helped me alot!
