Trust me, I don't think anybody feels the wait quite like we who have been/are working on it do. It's still on its way, as far as I can see, we just have busy lives.
MP's was put on hold shortly after the release of Episode 3 and Daytime TV, because at the end of the summer holidays (by which time we had unrealistically hoped to have the whole thing finished) key members of our team were leaving to go to University.
Alongside that, by the time we had a chance to carry on with MPs, Halo 3 was just around the corner. It was about then that we decided to rework an older script - which became Console Wars - to try to make use of Halo 3 as best we can.

No mods - the map is Avalanche, a multiplayer map available as DLC in the Legendary map pack, and the Scarabs were photoshopped into the shot from the campaign level "The Storm".
We're getting there, it's just been a pretty tough few months for a lot of reasons. There will be an update when the episode is out, and an explanation for the most part on why it has taken so long on the channel and in our podcast.

Unfortunately, as we've said elsewhere, our older videos are pretty hard to come by. We don't really know if they're still being hosted, but a few determined searches have apparently turned up results. Just keep checking popular machinima sites!
Yeah, it was all in Photoshop CS3. Took a while but the end result was more what we had hoped for, and we also have more experience with the Photoshop programs from previous work.
kick ass editing! I don't know about everyone else but I'm just a gamer who likes to play video games, don't give a shit what console I'm playing, the games are most important, not consoles. But that's my opinion.
It's actually editing, the footage for the scarabs was recorded from the single player campaign, then cut into there.
Essentially, any shots with more than four people on screen has been edited in some way, it was all filmed with just two Xbox 360's (one camera, the other with four guys running around).
But why do you need two 360s? Are you not using the Theater mode? I can see how that would help when headbobbing, but wouldn't it make battle scenes much easier?

If that's what you do mean (Sorry, not exactly clear is all), it's a weighing up of pros and cons. If we had more 360's, it'd be hard to find enough people and also time everything right, and reset the game each time. On the other hand, there wouldn't be any photoshopping of the shots if we did it that way.
We went with photoshop simply because we don't have many of us to do each shot, and it's more organized.
Oh, and yes we are using theater mode, just that we usually still go from a "camera-player"'s point of view, who is watching the scene while it's "acted" out.
Sorry to be unclear, but yeah, that's what I meant. With only four people per shot, I figured you would only need one 360, but if you're using a camera-man instead of Theater mode for dialog then I guess you would need two 360s.
You mean the Scarab? We did that in the level "The Storm" from campaign, and for the most part we could use the wand-tool in photoshop for sections. Although there was a lot of tidying up to do (the gun on the top was always merging colour-wise with the sky, for instance), and a lot of images (30 frames per second, about 3 seconds in each shot with scarabs, so about 270 images to edit).

No mods - the map is Avalanche, a multiplayer map available as DLC in the Legendary map pack, and the Scarabs were photoshopped into the shot from the campaign level "The Storm".

We're getting there, it's just been a pretty tough few months for a lot of reasons. There will be an update when the episode is out, and an explanation for the most part on why it has taken so long on the channel and in our podcast.

Unfortunately, as we've said elsewhere, our older videos are pretty hard to come by. We don't really know if they're still being hosted, but a few determined searches have apparently turned up results. Just keep checking popular machinima sites!

No, no chroma keying, that wouldn't have worked so well for the scarab shots. Sony Vegas is very sluggish, I recommend using something else.

Yeah, it was all in Photoshop CS3. Took a while but the end result was more what we had hoped for, and we also have more experience with the Photoshop programs from previous work.

It's actually editing, the footage for the scarabs was recorded from the single player campaign, then cut into there.
Essentially, any shots with more than four people on screen has been edited in some way, it was all filmed with just two Xbox 360's (one camera, the other with four guys running around).

Well it's very well done.
But why do you need two 360s? Are you not using the Theater mode? I can see how that would help when headbobbing, but wouldn't it make battle scenes much easier?

If that's what you do mean (Sorry, not exactly clear is all), it's a weighing up of pros and cons. If we had more 360's, it'd be hard to find enough people and also time everything right, and reset the game each time. On the other hand, there wouldn't be any photoshopping of the shots if we did it that way.
We went with photoshop simply because we don't have many of us to do each shot, and it's more organized.

Oh, and yes we are using theater mode, just that we usually still go from a "camera-player"'s point of view, who is watching the scene while it's "acted" out.

Sorry to be unclear, but yeah, that's what I meant. With only four people per shot, I figured you would only need one 360, but if you're using a camera-man instead of Theater mode for dialog then I guess you would need two 360s.

You mean the Scarab? We did that in the level "The Storm" from campaign, and for the most part we could use the wand-tool in photoshop for sections. Although there was a lot of tidying up to do (the gun on the top was always merging colour-wise with the sky, for instance), and a lot of images (30 frames per second, about 3 seconds in each shot with scarabs, so about 270 images to edit).
