@AndromedaChao2 The most powerful hurricane force winds on Earth generate energy equivilanet to a 15 Megaton explosion every 14 minutes, Jupiters winds generate that on average. Crazy is'nt it.
@AndromedaChao2 The most powerful hurricane ever recorded as far as we know is Jupiters red spot, it has beeen raging for 400 years and could easily fit the Earth inside it 3 times. I think the reason why Jupiters winds are so powerful is because of the enormous pressure and heat present in the planets interior, another factor is the rate in which Jupiter is rotating which is also influenced by all of it's moons. Jupiters lighting storms are also way stronger than anything here on Earth.
@NANOFORGE Yes Jupiter's internal heat does contribute to the powerful lightning storms in its atmosphere. Also because Jupiter's rotation period is only 9 hours 55 minutes or so, its clouds are drawn into the streaks you see on its surface. I bet you cannot imagine what the winds would be like here on Earth if it spun round as fast as Jupiter.

The average wind speeds on Jupiter are almost four times faster than this wind tunnel's maximum speed

@NANOFORGE I think Hurricane Mitch is such an example as one of the most powerful hurricanes to have existed in the past
