For example, a gun that fires at 328FPS is imparting 1 Joule of Kinetic energy on the pellet in the chamber.

In Mainland Europe, it is common for limits to be decided by Joules, not FPS, so he asked a perfectly legitimate question...

@prsebber A small amount of silicon oil will help a bit (only a tiny bit!)

The main cause of a stiff bolt pull is the spring. The higher the FPS of the spring you are using, the stiffer the bolt pull will be, as it is harder to compress stronger springs. Changing to a lower FPS spring will lighten the bolt pull.

Renting is easy. Simply ring up the site you intend to play at and say "I'd like to rent a gun for XYZ date when I come down to play."
