The Resurection Alien is actually the coolest looking one. It's so streamlined & deadly looking. I also like the deformed Ripley & newborn designs. They actually look like Giger artwork.

I gotta say it, but all the changes they implemented made the aliens in this one look far less scary than the original or the cameron one. The Eggs were SUPPOSED to be mechanical, and now they look like they are dancing. plus, why are they all brown? They were never brown until Alien 3 (which made some sense because the host was a dog)

All in all, resurrection took far too many liberties with the canon appearence, which is why fans generally hate this movie

@Digideus I agree. The Aliens in this movie look almost freakin' REPTILIAN...wtf up with that? They were never supposed to resemble anything familiar to us...more like a sleek, black, living machine that followed an aesthetic totally "alien" to that of Earth life. These don't look anything like that.

1.) Giger's Alien (bio-mechanic design) -organic moist texture, ridged tubes, semi-ridged tubes, smooth tubes, some tendons, exoskeleton, few lumps of flesh.

An interplay between machines and the ORGANIC.

2.) Resurrection (non-Giger) -exoskeleton, gelatinous & very wet looking texture..and ..oh well, it's like they'd just dumped layers of cobweb on the monster.

MAN! IF IT AINT BROKE DON"T FIX IT!! They took just way too much theatrical license with Alien 3 and 4. Aliens worked b/c they kept the original creatures, just took off the dome and added the queen, but she was true to the original designs too. IF it aint broke don't fix it... I hope Ridley Scott remembers that with Prometheus.

If I had a chance to redo the Newborn Alien from A.R. then I would have gone with a design like the one from the storyboards at 2:49 thru 3:00, because it has more of a Alien look crossed with a human. The movie Newborn was just WAY too much like a human that was just severely deformed and overgrown. I know that's what THEY wanted, but I feel that the fans would have preferred a much more traditional looking Alien with LESS humanistic qualities than what they put into it. Oh well. X^/

I find it so funny that these people keep talking about how superior the effects on this movie were compared to the previous films. "This egg has like 50 movements compared to the four the previous had", "The chestbuster is like all bloody and more extreme compared to the old one"...

I really liked the suit designs on this one, but I keep wishing they went back with the Cameron/Giger designs as they have the best details for their bio-mechanic look. Lately the game developers realized this and only some shape aspects from resurrection are being used, but otherwise they're going back to what made them scary.

The fact the ''swimming aliens'' had a whole different look (uh WTF) and the silly top Ripley had to wear that resembles the alien shoulders...are enough to say this movie is the worst of the series. Alien 3 was just too much gore which makes disgust...instead of thrills and fear. But not random alien alterations and clothes that look like aliens. This should be deleted from the series.

I actually liked ressurection, It had a half-decent plot, characters that were in general about as well developed as those in Aliens, and yes, it's nowhere near as good as Alien or Aliens, but it was still enjoyable, and still an Alien movie.

when the cloned queen was taken out of ripley it also got a good chunk of human DNA just like the cloned ripley had alien DNA. If u noticed ripley began to display tendencies and attributes of the aliens for example aggressive behavior acidic blood etc just like the alien queen displayed a few human attributes (she gave live birth to the "new born" which is also why it had human charctaristics. does that answer a few questions?

The tubes, did they help him breath or are they just there for no reason? And i never really liked the newborn alien. I thought it was out of nowhere and it was, inappropriate. It never really wish i could see the queen more. I was disappointing with that. I was a good movie but i still do not get the whole newborn. is it supposed to be better? It looks slow, not very flexible and it seems easy to shoot. So could you explain the newborn alien and the idea behind it? i understand how, bot why?
