I already thought about building a V2 oder a straight 4 cylinder, but there is no time. It already took 2 weeks to build the enginge and another 1 to optimise and strengh some parts.
(Normaly its a 4-6bar enginge, now running at 8-9 bar and i think 12-14 will be possible too without any damage)
Until there isn't any more oil. That's why we need new ideas. Problem with compressed air engines is the amount of power it takes to compress the air.
There will continue to be oil until we either kill ourselves or move on to space colonies because we can't stand having only 10 cubic feet of personal space.
Nothing is ever as dire as it seems because people always ALWAYS over react.
And people like you ALWAYS assume everything is going to be fine and not worry about the future. I bet you don't think global warming is a problem either?
love the sound!!

do you have instructions on how to make it
grimmripper1 2 years ago
Anyway.. seems like the same problem exists here.. it takes more energy to compress the air than is gained by decompressing it thru your engine.

Any chance you can tell us how this works?
zintoit 2 years ago
1hr per using air ??
lapua000 2 years ago
are u using a popit vavle????
superfunnyman123 3 years ago
a what?
stgeiselhof 3 years ago
umm??? do u have the air going just stright in to the cylinder?
can u please tell me how u think it works?
superfunnyman123 3 years ago
The cank shaft is the valve. Piston down = closed. Piston up = open
stgeiselhof 3 years ago
oh ok , same thing as a popit vavle.
superfunnyman123 3 years ago
so in other words a 2 stroke
FORDGTFANATIC 2 years ago
that is totally awesome.

Have you ever computed your round trip efficiency... Flywheel horsepower/ Energy to initially compress the air?
vector006 3 years ago
no, i have no possibility to do this
stgeiselhof 3 years ago
Do you have the drawing ?I'd like to make one in Taiwan!

Tell me about icing. Any compressed gas suddenly loosing pressure acts like a fridge.

after 5 minutes of running, the block is a little cold and the exhaust freezes.
Thats verry funny ;D but has no negative results.
stgeiselhof 4 years ago
We had a Ford Falcon, dedicated LPG, they forgot the coolingwater(hot)connection. .After about 50ks, the decompression unit was a total iceblock.!!
valvetrom 4 years ago
SO why not use this as part of the air conditioning within a car using such an engine ? could it be done ?
wingnut4427 3 years ago
yes, good idea, sucks out ca 2 hp at high setting.
valvetrom 3 years ago
plaese send me plans or like a kit or somthing cause i wanna experiment with this thing so badd!!

how dose this motor work?where's the valves? the only type i know is the Air Hogs style one.
kougra1314 4 years ago
its very simple, the crank shaft works as "valve".
stgeiselhof 4 years ago
that thing sounds great w/ that exhuast on it!

Ever think about doing a V-8 like that? I think it'd sound AWESOME!

Wow, That Sounds Really Good.... Beautiful almost, like art or music

Or a proper petrol motor.
Or, like, farting.
QuantumCarl 2 years ago
Ha ha, true, but dude, you must have a loose sphincter, i've never had a fart sounding like that.
But as it sounds like a "proper petrol motor", people who find that sound beautiful will not have any problem adopting a cleaner (air) motor.
gottherne 2 years ago
I like the sound of petrol motors. Strong.
Ugh.
People aren't going to move to a compressed air motor.
People aren't going to move to an all electric motor.
People are going to keep doing what they're doing, which is PETROL. They'll complain about high gas prices, but buy it anyways.
Why?
Because it works.
Well.

It's a problem, but it's not what most people think it is.
Socially, the majority of the people who follow that stuff also have whey shakes and drive Priuses. It's a fad.
Some of them also believe in things like "ChemTrails" and whathaveyou.
