Actually I know the talking heads really well. The Exies are an amazing group. You just judge them are there looks, when there just as good as Seether, Staind, Papa Roach, Drowning Pool, and all those other Hard Rock/Alt Rock/Post-Grunge bands.
Not a single band you mention is anything near "amazing." Beyond their looks, all of these bands make lame music and they lack originality. That's why this cover sucks so hard.

I think this cover misses everything that made the original great. It had a kind of "jerkiness" to it that this is totally missing. Suddenly the water seems more like mud.
Also, this band seems like they were manufactured in a factory.
Interesting modern take on the song, although I think it takes the esscense out of it. That is-- it's an optimistic song about being happy with what you have. Same as it ever was?! No it's not! Your life HAS changed! Don't let those happy days go by waiting for the big change! I think they could have done a lot more because obviously they have some talent. Not my taste, but they've got enough talent to make a certain demographic happy. :)

I never considered Once in a Lifetime to be a love song. I always saw it as a person who has been moving through life in such a predictable way that he wakes up one day and realizes he knows nothing about himself and his own life.

Oh man... I was checking some comments... it looks like Exies fans will always defend this version while TH fans will say it's crap and make TH pose as the band of gods. Because um... everyone has their opinion.
I as an Exies fan find this version a thousand times better but hey, the original is funny, I like it too, only not as a song but as something funny. I remember I loved the video, back in the day.

Much better than the original, in my opinion. Wow. No offense to Talking Heads and the fans who like 'em, but this song was made for The Exies to cover. They took this song into the direction it was intended to enter. It has so much more heat, meaning, power and quality to it. Job well done here.

I think this cover misses everything that made the original great. It had a kind of "jerkiness" to it that this is totally missing. Suddenly the water seems more like mud.
Also, this band seems like they were manufactured in a factory.

Interesting modern take on the song, although I think it takes the esscense out of it. That is-- it's an optimistic song about being happy with what you have. Same as it ever was?! No it's not! Your life HAS changed! Don't let those happy days go by waiting for the big change! I think they could have done a lot more because obviously they have some talent. Not my taste, but they've got enough talent to make a certain demographic happy. :)
