i think final cut express is THE program for videos now... easy to cut, multiple video and audio tracks... easy.

i only use imovie when i'm just putting clips together and trimming them, not overlaying or editing too much or adding a lot of audio etc...

Windows Movie Maker! But in all honesty, it's Final Cut Pro, it's easy to use, and you could be able to split clips much easier than any I movie. (Imovie 4.0 though was great)
