  • @zuzuh07 The song the j beals dances in front of t.v is called "Imagination". I believe it's sung by laura branigan.

  • This song puts me back in the 5th grade in 1984. That was a fun time.

  • @germanicelt I was 6 in 84 and I must agree this soundtrack was and still IS hot!

  • I L O V E this song!

  • My new favorite song!

  • i like donna but the music here is better than the singing. donna was not good at new wave-like songs. she was a drama and dance singer at that time.

  • Donna at her BEST !!

  • Hi I wrote & produced the song `Touch & Go Lover `` Donna Summer just added he lyrics to this music track the I played all the instrumentation. I got no credit for it.. Whats up with that.

    Louis Toteda

  • extraordinary!!

  • a fantastic song

  • I like this video a lot! It's a great song!! Amo esta canción !!!!

  • HQ audio??? WTF???

  • I don't remember this song in this movie. Haven't heard it since '84 when we used it for our 5th grade dance. That was a great time.

  • Why does this video have better scenes and dancing than in the movie??? i am so disappointed they didn't add some of these scenes.

  • Que bacan, otro tema de los 80s lo mejor decada. FLASHDANCE.

  • Marvellous song!

  • This is one of my "the FAVORITE " Donna Songs, as well as one of my "the FAVORITE" movies! Love You Donna!!!

  • omg i never knew this was Donna Summer.....I loved this when i was younger it's still such a funny song.....!

  • 80年代に戻りたーい!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jrmfit8 :watashimoooooo

  • i have another version on a tape, where a male singer performs this song, anybody have any cluoes who he is?

  • I hope he sings shes a girl shes a girl shes my julieta ha .

  • It´s amazing Marine Jahan dance perfomance as Jennifer Beals stunt, last 20 seconds was cut from the movie, She was superb!!

  • FLASHDANCE.....One of the best movies ever!

  • Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder = a diva and a genius.

  • I LOVE THE 80s!!!!!

  • Bueno, lo vi en el 706 de Sky en VH1 Clásico

  • Que buena......! Para sie...

  • Triumph the insult comic dog at 0:30 !!

  • Explosiva y grandiosa

  • Why the hell did they not release this song to radio, along with 'What a Feeling' and 'Maniac?' It definitely would've been a huge hit in the Summer of 83.

Possibly, Donna's label didn't want it to compete with 'She Works Hard for the Money' which came out around the same time as Flashdance. Who knows?

  • Geffen didn't want to admit that they made a mistake by rejecting the "I'm a Rainbow" album, from which this is taken, so they put this on Flashdance and "Highway Runner" on the Fast Times at Ridgemont High soundtracks and let the album sit canned for nearly twenty years. This, as well as the album itself, could have been HUGE hits in 1981 - instead, Donna quickly went in the studio with Quincy Jones and recorded the self-titled album (with "Finger on the Trigger") that comparitively flopped...

  • This song was released to radio right before "hard for the money" as a promo, ineligible to chart "at that time". Shortly after, "hard for the money" came out on the same label. This song was played on pop radio and got a few spins on the r&b stations that played DS on the reg. I remember the dj thinking that was her new song, since no one knew of "hard for the money" yet.

  • @borderline84 .. the song didnt get release because it was from the Im a Rainbow lp the David Geffen didnt put out cause he didnt like the songs he wanted Donna to still be a disco queen .. and held the lp back and so 3 songs from that lp went to soundtracks FlashDance and Fast Times @ Ridgemont high As for She works hard..lp David Geffen turn that lp down also and since she owed Polygram one lp due to her contract she gave them the She works hard LP to put out (david geffen was a dumb ass)

  • @MrDjthomase I think it is great that she had a HIT album even though she had already signed with David. That goes to show that he was on the wrong track. He should've never shelved I'M A RAINBOW.

  • @MrDjthomase he was a completely idiot (geffen) but it serves them well, Summer's both big hits from the 80s (She Works Hard For The money, This Time I Know It's For Real) were rejected by Geffen and his joke of a label never got the sales from both hits. the only thing was that it was basically a whole decade Donna Wasted with that joke of a Label.

  • @borderline84 who is Chaka?

  • Donna summer rocks!

  • Thanks for posting! I don't think I've seen this video before. The film scenes seem new to me. Maybe they are outtakes or deleted scenes?

  • te amo donna

  • this song reminded me of my first puppy love....his name is Romeo....he's happily married now....ironic'ly not to me hehehe

  • Yeah I know what you mean. My first love Tiffany is married as well, and not to me.

  • I didn't know there was a video for this song. I loved the movie. I had the soundtrack and I always listened to the whole thing.

  • This song is originally part of the I'M A RAINBOW double album that did not see the light of day until 1996!

  • buena muy buena me encanta esta cancion

  • Had these images burnt in my brain at 16, and reconfirmed what I was already sure of: I'm a man, and I'll enjoy female beauty till the day I die.

This song is great, but the video is just so unforgettable to me.

  • Oh My God !

I wanna scream and sing as loud as i can !

I was searching this song very long time !!!!!!!!!!

He's the boy, he's the boy, he's the boy, he's the boy

    He's my romeo oh, oh

He's the boy, he's the boy, he's the boy, he's the boy

    He's my r-o-m-e-o, romeo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very cool upload Luis!--I miss seeing "Flashdance" so much in its purest version and not the TBS edited stuff they play almost all the time...Mikey & faved of course w/a 10*stars!

  • this was my FAAAVORITE song back in the DAY! hot damn nice to hear this again never seen the music video was not shown on mtv back then least i never catched it on mtv, and i watched ALOT of mtv back then. when it was REAL music videos LOL!. nice to see this thank you so much for the upload!!

  • actually they did play this maybe once or twice back in the day on mtv. I remember watching it once. But since the song maniac was a hit, they just played the video for that song instead. im surprised i got to see this music video again after 20 something years.

  • this is a wierd song but it is my jazzz dance song

  • Epocas de la escuela

  • I've heard this was the first video by a black female artist to get played on MTV, while She Works Hard For The Money was the second. Donna deserves credit for opening doors for black women on MTV much like MJ and Prince get for African American artists.

  • except the video is of the movie 'flashdance' in which the song appears, and not of the artist....and this was in the 80s....*sighs*

  • absolutely, DoNNa SuMMeR the best!

  • is it just me or are there scenes from the movie on this video that are not actually in the real movie?

  • This song is just as good as 'What a Feelin' and 'Maniac'. should be huge!

  • absolutely.

  • She works "maniac" for the money mix so great!

  • This song was originally on Donna's unreleased 1981 album "I'm A Rainbow". (It was eventually released on CD in the 90s.)

  • .thats because Adrian Lyne ,like most great directors shhots or films more footage than scripted ..then edits accordingly..but the lost scenes are sometimes more exciting

  • like in the beginning of the video, where she sticks out her tongue. and when she is sleeping with her dog on the couch. some of the dance scenes...especially the last dance scene in this video did not make it. which is a great dance scene in my opinion.

  • there are many scenes in this video that are not in the movie. has anyone noticed? i know this is an old movie, but i noticed.

  • Great song Thanks to post it

  • es una de las mejores rolas de los 80s

  • I love this song, I was a kid back in 1983 when I first heard it, and made me dream on. I love this song, so energizing.

  • yeah, it always makes me wiggle and shake, since i was small! lovely funky 80s dance music...

  • really great song, makes me nod to the music

  • One of the best songs from Donna Summer!

  • One of the best singers!!!

  • omg i love this song lol jennifer beals is hot

  • Love the song AND the clips. :] Flashdance=love

  • Sorry, but I don't agree with you. I suggest you should listen to Donna's voice in the live version. I think the live version's better. Still, I LOVE THIS!

  • Pete Bellotte and Sylvester Levay created very beautiful song anticipated their time, like F.R.David

  • AWESOME <3

  • una de las mejore rolas de donna summer atte:defensor801@hotmail

  • Great song.

  • great song!!!!!!!!!!!!
