Wrong. He came in at the correct speed , he was to high. Therefor he had to land further down the runway , therby losing more speed which requiers more flare.
Lol, you're either stupid or retarded. Who does a "flight test procedure" that would risk damaging a multi million dollar piece of equipment? Ever heard of simulators? Also, tailstrike tests are performed by the aircraft builder, not pilots of a commercial airline. And tailstrikes may happen at take off only. Here it happens at touchdown, so it's obviously because of a bad manoeuver!
ok...this was simply bad piloting. they were probably anxious to land, maybe one of them wanted to go to the toilet or something. PIC wasn't properly focused on the job and they should face penalties just for the fact that they had their mind somewhere else
I have dignity. i am also not using anyone to earn me a reputation, but forming a plane lovers group. Check out my channel, send friend requests and subscribe. send me questions on my channel, and i will gladly answer you, so, remember, ALL PLANE LOVERS, UNITE!
The plane wouldn't have crashed if he had hit the bottom. They would just simply have had a few nicks and scratches. Tail strikes have happened before.
this is why humans will be phased out of piloting in the future.. i wonder though- how safe would u feel in an aircraft without a pilot? maybe just someone on the ground somewhere monitoring it along with 2 or 3 other aircraft.
drummfly, was soll Dein Kommentar?Ich kenne mich mit TU gut aus und kann Dir aus zuverlässigen Quellen vermitteln, dass die Piloten sehr gut ausbildet sind und sie unter sehr harten Voraussetzungen rekrutiert werden! Tunisair geniesst einen sehr guten Ruf was Sicherheit anbelangt. Also erspar uns Vorurteile. Es gibt immer wieder Zwischenfälle mit Seitenwind. War der LH Pilot in Hamburg im Februar auch ein Araber??

The use of correct spelling and grammar can improve your chances of employment, and can one day lead to leaving the loving care of your parents or even marriage if you so desire.
the pilot pull back on stick to much during landing and i thing he use the speedbrake manually ... watch the back of the plane it's so close to the ground !!!
that is just some windshear or smthin, you also hear it in other parts of the vid.. But furthermore im not sure, but I guess it shld have shown sparks, cos even if it hits softly, it just scrapes pretty bad!
A320's are prone to tailstrike when spoilers are deployed - there have been multiple incidents where the pilot uses enough sideways sidestick on takeoff to deploy spoilers on one wing - this reduces the lift enough that the aircraft tail hits the ground on rotation. There is an article floating around for you googleholics.
Anyway - this just looks like a bounced landing and maybe the co-pilot has deployed spoilers anyway mid bounce not realising, or wanting to kill lift.
i just noticed that the touchdown was very positive, just look at the spolers on the wings, they came out with the first touch, it killed the lift of the wing otherwise the plane would bounce as a ball twice as higher then it did..
that is obvious mistake, pilot misused moving of the yoke, it's like when u'r driving instead of braking u push full gas, professional would never do that..

I don't think it was ALMOST a tail strike, but rather that it WAS, because I heard a scraping sound during the tail strike.

Yeah it was fucked up and it bounced after a hard touchdown so so it was a tailstrike.

The tailstrike rate for the A320 fleet is 2.7 occurrences. per million flight cycles.
A340-600 are prone to tailstrikes but the fleet of our a319's have never had a tailstrike
Sterlingjob 3 years ago
No need for name calling, but it does look like a high rate of descent at touch down. It was aircraft carrier-like. Only without the tailhook. :)
