  • I have plenty of memory but this video took forever to download and remained jumpy.

  • @daneschroyer ive never experienced that with this video or had someone tell me they had a problem with it. delete ur recycling bin, check ur anti virus, or check ur internet connection and try again

  • @daneschroyer whats the song called ???

  • i have watched several videos on what to feed my turtles and the types of things that they might eat and i have to say that your video was the most helpful that i have ever seen. Thank you so much

  • @MacKnight32 hey np. im glad u found it so helpful. i made a second video called "Feeding Aquatic Turtles 2", u might find it helpful as well. it focuses more on the different types of household food u can feed ur turtles and also talks about live and feozen foods as well (=

  • @MacKnight32 agreed.

  • Help my turtle won't eat!!

  • @tigers3010 ok give me details. wut type of turtle, how old, how big, its environment, its tankmates, tank size, and any other useful info

  • @7ItalianStallion Ok it is a Western pond turtle. He is 6 1/4 inches and he is in a 20 gallon tank. He has a goldfish in with him but he won't eat it! I am going to try

aquatic turtle but he was once wild so I am not so sure what to feed him to get him to eat!!

  • @tigers3010 i researched western pond turtles and found that they are VERY similar to most fresh water turtles in size, behavior, habitat and diet. they will eat everything i mention in this video and my "feeding aquatic turtles 2" video. if your turtle is shedding he may not eat as much. if u really want to test your turtle's eating habits feed him either live crickets or live worms (trout or nightcrawlers should do it). if he still doesnt eat then there could be a problem. goodluck

  • @7ItalianStallion Thanks he is eating!! He likes worms!

  • @tigers3010 glad to help

  • water should be between 72 and 82

  • the water is kinda cool is it supposed to be warm at what temp

  • yo my g my girl just bought me a turtle yesterday and i really dont know how to take care of it i dont know what kind of turtle he is . so im hveing problems knowing at what temp to keep the water. hes like the size of your male painted turtle . and i set up a platform so he can get on but he never does. is that normal hes always like standing on hes feet poping hes head out the water to breathe is that ok . hell go haveway up the platform and put his head on the rocks instead of going to the t

  • @gellag water should be between 72 n 82. if the temp in the room is colder than the water ur turtle wont wanna get outta the water. get a uvb light bulb and a heat light bulb. the uvb light is for the turtle's health, turtles NEED uvb light. the heat bulb isnt mandatory, but if ur turtle isnt basking then a heat bulb will make the turtle wanna come outta the water to get in the heat

  • I really liked this video it taught me so much! I didn't know aquatic turtles ate goldfish!! I am going to buy my turtles soon I just need to buy my tank! I'm very excited! I have a question! I don't know if it's true but can I feed my aquatic turtle vegtables such as carrots and lettuce???

  • @ForeverGlamorous133 hey im glad the video helped. yes u can feed ur turtles goldfish, but only as a treat once in a wile. goldfish r very fatty. and yes u can feed ur turtles vegetables, in fact its a great thing to do. turtles love fruits and vegetables, but it's trial and error with them cuz sum turtles can be very picky with their food. i made a second turtle feeding video its called "Feeding Aquatic Turtles 2". check it out, im sure u'll find it usefull as well (=

  • @7ItalianStallion Hey I just got a 5 inch turtle! He is very friendly but he needs a cage! He can't stay in the bathtub. What is the right size cage for him? He likes water a lot!

  • It looks like you take really iPod car of your turtles that's good we need more people like you in this world to take care of animals

  • @wildmonkey98 hey thanks. do u own turtles?

  • Your turtles are so cute. I have 2 RES turtles and I've been feeding them just the sticks but I think I'm going to get some sort of protein for them since they can't catch the feeder fish.

  • @violincat83 thanks (= yea i feed mine all sorts of live and frozen foods. check out my "feeding aquatic turtles 2" video

  • well the red eared slider shouldnt be that big if it is a male, r u sure it is a male? look up ways to tell and really investigate it, but it should have been easy to tell once they get to 4 inches. i can already tell that my baby red bellied cooter, of only 2 inches in length is a female by how short its tail is compared to longer tails ive seen on baby males. once u determine wut gender ur other turtles are i will be able to give u an educated guess as to how big a tank u will need (=

  • @7ItalianStallion Awesome decoration for your tank!Love the hollow rock,or izzit a 'tunnel',anyways, love the rock on the right side of the tank. It's at 00:19

  • @IndefiniteEL its a floating log, n i love it too its awesome. i have 2 of them now n both my fish and turtles use them all the time

  • @7ItalianStallion hey how long does it take a baby terrapin to grow to a big one? my friend gave me 2 red-eared slider since he's terrapins gave birth to some and he forgot how long it took to grow big

  • @IndefiniteEL there are way too many variables to just give an answer to that question. if its a female it will grow faster and larger. if it is fed alot and/or fed alot of protein it could speed up growth. if it's given a large tank it could grow faster. im sure it will also grow bigger and faster if u take care of it really good meaning good diet, water cleanliness, proper basking and lighting.

  • @7ItalianStallion so sad, mine died becoz of fungus:(

  • @IndefiniteEL im so sorry

  • @7ItalianStallion Subscribed:)

  • i love this video i have a map ,a red eared slider and a yellow bellied slider. i have need biger tank what size should i get .the map is about 4 inches. the red eared slider is about 14 inches and the yellow slider is 7 inches. how do you tell if it is a mele or female when there that small i no the red eared iis a male but not about the others.if u have answers reply plz

  • does your red eared slider go on the floating log???????

  • @07prosoccer yea, she actually sinks it halfway lol. all my turtles love the floating logs as well

  • @7ItalianStallion ok thank u very muchh

  • @07prosoccer np at all. one important thing tho, if u r going to get a floating log make sure u have either a cover on the tank or a way to keep the logs from going to the edges of the tank or ur turtles could jump out

  • Dude, I miss your MoHawk

  • @iAmstAnLEy123abc dude, i miss it too. i hope my mohawk is having a good time up in heaven on sum punk rocker's head in the middle of the most badass moshpit of a vitamin x show...that's wut he would want. lol

  • What kind of turtles are these? and where did you buy that floating log.? im talking about the little ones.

  • @dasyomom mississippi map, western painted, red bellied cooter, and res.

n i bought the floating docks at petsmart, but i wouldnt recomend buying them. the floating docks r cheaply made and dont work as well as something u can creat on ur own (=

  • What kind of turtles are these? and where did you buy that floating log.?

  • Like you were saying about how the baby does not get much, then find a bowl (clear) and put the baby in then feed it. And if you want a really clean tank and filter then do that with all of them but in separate bowls!!

  • @JSeryoyo no i dont do that, i think if you were to take your pet of its home that you have created for it, that your pet has grown used to living in, to feed it in feeding tank or "bowl" just to save yourself alittle bit of extra tank cleaning and maintenance is not only ignorant to your pet's psychological well being for taking them out of it's environment EVERY SINGLE FEEDING, but also lazy.

and my baby turtle was being fed separately when he was very young, but does great with the others now

  • i have 2 baby sliders. i give them nothing but shrimp. they tend to finish it all.

idk what else to try. i tried petlets but they dont even get near it. i tried feeder fish but i guess their to small still. do u recommend i use the aquatic turtle diet juvenile formula? or what else can u recommend?

  • im gona give meal worms (super worms) they have those at my grocery store.

  • @repthealth u put superworms in parentheses for meal worms, but they are both two different kinds of worms. if they actually have both then that's awesome, you can rotate them in your feeding. if you ever get live worms, be careful with the superworms because if they are still alive when swallowed they can eat at your turtle from the inside and cause pain, damage, or even death.

  • @7ItalianStallion thanks i dont know much about those different beetle larva but they look basically the same to me

  • reptomins the best the others give diaria :(

  • like this if you saw how hard it hit the brick thingy

  • @hotsaucemerceda784 at wut time did it happen ?

  • @hotsaucemerceda784 ooohh haha, thats a floating log. used to happen all the time, theyre fine lol

  • do you put the whole cuttle bone in and also do u strip the hard backing of off it or leavie it

  • @hanley2458 no, i brake them in two so all my turtles won't fight over one big piece. and no, i left it on all this time, but since you asked i just had the curiosity to cut off all the hard backing and i like it better that way. thanks for bringing that question up, i'll be cutting off the hard backing from now on and i recommend doing it so it's easier for turtles to eat, esp for small turtles. all this time its been my biggest turtle eating majority of the calcium bones and now i know why lol

  • @7ItalianStallion haha np and ya i always say to my smaller turtle eat it so youll be the biggest one and run the show haha

  • ok my res was sheding (and no i couldnt find this online) is it ok if it eats his shed not his skin shed his scutes i found him eating peice and i took it out to be safe

  • @barrettsquad85 dont worry about it, it's perfectly normal. i researched it online and found others in the same situation, their turtles were eating their shed scutes and digesting them. if i was you i would take them out whenever i happen to notice them just to be safe, but dont go looking for them and worrying about them, it's nothing to worry about (=

  • @7ItalianStallion k thanks phew!!! lol

  • I've had a slider for about six months now and the whole time I have been feeding him the same pellets (2 or 3 every day or two) and brine shrimp 3 or 4 times a week. There are also a few guppies in the tank but he doesnt eat them. Is this okay or should i start to try to feed him different foods? PLEASE REPLY!!!!!!!!!

  • @ddog12921996 oman i cant wait to upload my new video, its all about all the different kinds of food i feed my turtles now. its crazy how many different things u can feed them that they actually come across in the wild. my video will be up most likely within the next few days, but so far u seem to be doing jus fine with wut ur feeding ur slider and ur def not over feeding it which is good.

here's a few things to focus on when feeding aquatic turtles, but it wont fit so ill leave another comment

  • @7ItalianStallion insects r really good for turtles, such as crickets, many different types of worms, and any other non-poisonous insects.

fish r a good treat, they will add sum workout to ur turtles eating routine. guppies r a great sourse of live feeder fish for turtles. goldfish and minnows however contain high quantities of thiaminase which is not good =/

crawfish r also good for them and turtles find them very tasty.

fresh fruit and greens r very important as well such as romaine -

  • @7ItalianStallion - lettuce, carrots, blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, apples, and whatever else you can think of for fruits and greens.

commercial foods like reptomin sticks and shrimp and krill r great.

i also feed my turtles water sprite and wisteria that i grow in a separate tank. these water plants grow fast so you can rip off pieces as they grow to feed to your turtles. water sprite seems to be the best of the two as they grow faster and my turtles LOVE them.

    hope this helped ^_^

  • nice setup love the log. great varied diets feeder fish crustaceans pellets fruit/veg pellets, but do you feed them fresh greens like lettuce or dandelion? or even meat like cooked chicken or turkey bacon

  • @barrettsquad85 thanks, that was wen i first got the tank. now its got alot more to it. n yea i feed them water sprite and wisteria that i grow in a separate tank (= i also feed them fresh fruit once in a while, fruits like apples (i kno ur prob thinking apples wtf? but they actually like them lol), blueberries, blackberries and cranberries. the reason y i feed them fruits once in wile is cuz theyre very picky with their fresh fruits and wont eat them half the time =P

  • @barrettsquad85 meats i stay away from. im not big on the idea of cooking food for my turtles, they dont have someone cooking them chicken and bacon in the wild. i stick to feeding them only wut they come across in nature, except that i feed them live fish sumtimes. in the wild they come across and eat dead fish more often than catching them. oyea, i feed them guppies n minnows once in a wile. i dont do goldfish, theyre fatty. and minnows n goldfish also contain high quantities of thiaminase =/

  • thx for de info im new to turtles

  • @barrettsquad85 np, do u have any turtles?

  • Dude you should make a video on mohowks that would b so hot.I'm upsest with them I usto gave them all the time diffrent tips too.I love them not ever one guy or girl can pul them off.but in the video you show your blacklite .that would b so cool.

  • Omg I love your posters in the first room omg I have them as pets to I love the

there the best iv had my for ever like 6 years. His name is gucci.that's my baby.dude I love you hair too.cool video .xoxo

  • @Yogilatino hey thanks, the posters set a really chill mood at night wen i got the blacklight on, lights them all up. n damn, i should have turned my head in the video so u could see my mohawk better, it was crazy long

  • lol, heard the bob marley-type of music then saw ur posters. after that, I am confirmed.

  • @zhatdude lol im glad u liked it, im gonna make a tank update video soon, it's got so much more to it now

  • nice aquarium dude!

  • awesome video!, i just got myself a small turtle so i'm pretty excited to let him get to know me.

  • Hey man, excellent post and you have an awesome set up. I will probably be re-viewing the video for inspiration on my tank. I was wondering though, could you make a video reviewing the ins and outs of ur set up. I wanna know the filters you use too! Thanks man.

  • @kikuras yea sure, ill make one sumtime this week

  • @kikuras hey i made a couple more updates on my turtle/fish tank if u wanna check em out, powerheads, decorations, gravel, n im making one this week about wut types of food i now feed my turtles, i feed them even more of a variety now (=

  • where did you get the tanks

  • @thatrubberducky26 i got the 30 gallon used froma relative and the 125 gallon used off of craigslist

  • @thatrubberducky26 np. rite now petco has a CRAZY AWESOME deal going on though. 1 dollar per gallon. for instance, a 40 gallon breeder tank that would normally be about $120 is only $40! check it out dude

  • Dude you have so much food stock and various food ,nice care ,your tank is so huge but prepare for the bigger waste from your turtle as their development in the coming days which they need more food too ,watch out your filtration,i suggest you better switch to canister /wet & dry filtration soon, however your turtles feel so homie and happy with your care now ,love it.

  • @10Diamondback thanks alot man, these turtles when kept in captivity are don't get the pleasure of being able to eat all the dif foods they would come across in the wild so i try to feed them as much variety as possible to make them happy and also live prey to stay healthy, inshape and keep their predatory instincts sharp. I dont use canisters i HATE canisters lol my hang on filters work beautifully and they also keep the floating log in place for the uvb/heat light.

  • @10Diamondback i couldnt fit in my last comment that i also have fish now coexisting with my turtles. not only does it make the aquarium more interesting to have more than just turtles, but the fish also help clean the tank by picking up the scraps. i have a red-tailed shark, a black belt cichlid, and 3 convict cichlids living amongst my turtles now and they're all doing great around eachother. the turtles tried to eat them at first but couldnt catch them n havnt tried since. only the feeders (=

  • how many gallons? <3 it!

  • @theturtlelover11 125 gallons n thanks!

  • wow lol bongs and a huge fish tank, my dream.

  • @xpeacemaster lol

  • @7ItalianStallion yeah nice tank, but i wanna see some bong tips LOL!

  • Very Cool ~ I like this video and your tank setup!

  • @SteeleTate thanks, its gonna look alot better wen i get the backround im lookin for n sum gravel n props

  • lol nice turtles bro id be careful with the red belly and the female RES though :)

  • @idkwht2name thanks man n yea i closely monitored them for the first week n my res is such a nice turtle, doesnt pick on any of the others at all so i keep em all together. had another res in the begginning i had to get rid of tho cuz it would bite at the others, but not this one

  • nice song in the beginning lol :)

  • @TheAshanti10 DUDEEEE ITS THE EXPENDABLES, theyre fucking awesome. lol
