@bananaphoneman12 Most likely Hermes erased baby Bender's memory (so Bender would not recognise him if they ever met again), and the scene where Bender got his education was when he thought he was born
@bananaphoneman12 Yeah it does, but I think Groening shows us something like this to set a mood or to tell a joke rather than canon. In another contradiction, Zoidberg was first shown to go from little lobsterman to a big one in "A taste of freedom" then in "teenage mutant leela's hurdles" he's shown to have numerous larval stages for a humorous effect. This gives us a warm feeling inside while answering a few questions too.
@bananaphoneman12 if u think thats the weirdest thing in the first episode when they counted down for new years apparently it was the same time all across the world
@bananaphoneman12 If you really wanted to point out every continuity error in futurama, you'd be there your entire life. People should stop giving such a huge shit and just enjoy the show.
@Braaainns Actually, it wasn't contradicted in this episode though, Bending units go through phases of life, While adult Bender may have been born in 2998, It's unknown how much older he was in his previous models such as his teenage and baby forms.
@bananaphoneman12 Yup. The problem with the last 26 episodes is that they completely ignored all canon in the series. There is almost no continuity between the last two seasons and the 4 preceding seasons, which is quite frustrating
my question is why throw him out. Why not just throw a backup unit in him? It's not like bender can't be taken apart. He's been torn to shreds and put back together just fine.
@nicknikki1991 sumtimes they make no sense lol is bender 4 yrs old/? in his regular life size form,, and in the first few episodes they showed how he was created or made so he couldnt have ever been a baby bot type bending unit lol
In one episode, Bender shows Fry a picture of himself at 4 months old. Yet, Bender looked ADult. If Baby Bender looked like this, but at 4 months old Bender looked adult, ...
@OreoSmurfProductions well...he became evil when he was shocked after hitting a lamp with his antenna while helping fry to escape in the first episode.
@Prof1989 Fry: "Come on Bender, it's up to you to make your own decisions in life. That's what separates people and robots from animals.... and animal robots." Bender: "....You're full of crap, Fry. Ughauahhahaaahuuhaa!! *teh teh teh* You make a persuasive argument, Fry." Yay! I found it!! ^^
So that's my list and the reasons why. The Late Phillip J. Fry had a touching scene, but it wasn't at the very end. The Audience is given time to "forget" that scene with the humor of Bender burying the corpses of their duplicates.
Jurassic Bark, watching fry's dog wait loyally in one spot for years.
Leela's Homeworld, montage of scenes from Leela's childhood showing her parents have been with her all along.
The Luck of the Fryish, Fry discovering Phillip J. Fry is not his lying brother, but actually his nephew named in his honor by a loving bother that misses him.
Lethal Inspection, what we just saw
The Devils hands..., Pinkspider turned me onto this one which ends on a touching scene of love.
Gotta try for some continuity. We've already seen Bender's "birth", and it didn't look like this. A little contradiction isn't a problem, but they need to try not to let it get out of hand.
I don't remember him being shown as small in that epi, but if he was then that was also a contradiction with the epi I'm thinking of. He said something along the lines of "Of course I remember my own birth, it was only four years ago. Precocious little scamp, aren't I?" just after a cutaway showing him being put together full size by a robot (like the kind used to build cars) out of parts from bins full of that part.
@PlatypusVomit He must have started as a small robot (basic chassis?) then got upgraded along the assembly line. In one episode he comes out of a machine as a full sized robot acting like a baby, and then gets his education downloaded into him, which is probably after this scene.
@bloodanddajugs If it is really nice flashbacks I would include when Fry discovers he is Lars from Bender's Big Score I count it as a flashback because you only find it out after he saves Leela and Fry from Nudar
@PinkSpder sow that you mention it the devil's hands are idle playing things was very touching, They have to have a strong ending to fit in. The Sting ended on body odor, Time keeps on slipping ended at about a medium to me especially viewing the others by comparison, and the late Phillip J. Fry was a bit more funny than emotionally strong.
@PinkSpder Least nice or touching ending to an episode of Futurama? thats hard to say. in a strange way they kind of all are in some way touching even if its in a weird or warped way. In True Futurama style I will cast my vote for least touching ending as the valentines day one just because Zoidberg was talking.
@haxor98 Didn't end on that note, the ending itself of the late phillip j. fry was a funny note " that was the old fry...he's dead now" and then bender burying the bodies.
@cjwilliford08 I wouldn't count it cause you are left with them commenting eachothers body odor. The ones I list hold onto some sweet or sad sentiment all the way to the end. The Scene in this video for example the last thing you see is Hermes showing he was inspector 5 and proud of his decision
@NuteFunray Awesome name " You know what...instead of poisoning the Jedi, let us throw a Party For them!...and poison the punch " But yeah that " Sort of " is the mood watered down by Bender burying bodies. The ones on the list tend to keep the mood going uninterrupted. Good call though, and great name.
@bloodanddajugs Thanks I'm surprised so many people like my name lol. Anyway you're thinking of the new one. I'm not sure what it's exactly called but what I meant was the one with the harlem globetrotters but the ending of the one you said was also sad in a way to. ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD
@bloodanddajugs now that you point it I feel like a horses patoot. Fry's nephew should have been more than enough of a clue. Thanks for pointing it out
@bloodanddajugs no, but now there are 3 more :) others already noted fry and his dad, also fry and leela in overclockwise i think, but most touching for me was zoidberg episode where they explain how they met. anyway nice comment mate :)
@bloodanddajugs Don't forget the last hallucination from "The Sting", and the hospital scene at the very end. "Of course I'm awake. You wouldn't stop waking me."
Oh, and also when Fry gives Leela his oxygen tank without her knowing.
And when Fry's dad says "I don't want you getting frozen."
@TheWarnerSister many sweet moments, it really is a touching show dissecting the trivial american preoccupation with the future from what really counts in our society...Hypno Toad said so.
Cold Warriors brings the count to 6 with credit to malevc and TheWarnerSister Dotty...whoops uh oh!

Futurama's wonderful touching end scenes. Some end funny, some end sad, but some end truly touching all the way to the end credits to leave us with a heartwarming moment from a wonderful show.
All things end and I squirm in fear but also hope that when the end comes its a truly wonderful touching moment.
