when i first got ssfiv, i could not do FADCs. i loathed the trials that included them and skipped them. if i ever did complete a trial with FADC it was because i got lucky. after a long time i finally mastered the FADC! basically, you have to dash immediately after the EX FA. i was letting the FA charge a teeny bit which would ruin my time for a followup. i got the trial athlete trophy but not i like to go back and complete some of the trials that used to be hard for me when i get bored :D
@VholkMenDaru Well, this video explains just that, so I don't see where the problem lies. However, if you hold down MP+MK when FADCing, you'll be able to dash out of it at your own pace, but then you might be too slow to do a move afterwards. Give it a shot nonetheless.
@VholkMenDaru There's a more extensive explanation in my guide, which you can download from my channel page. Other than that, I guess you can only keep practicing until you're able to do it. Stuff like this takes time to learn.
@VholkMenDaru Take it one step at a time. First execute a move and press MP+MK right after the execution to see how it gets canceled. After that try to dash while your character is preparing his focus attack. Try to dash out of the focus, faster every time. When you get that down its a matter of learning how to input commands for ultras and w/e fast enough before the enemy has time to recover. I'm guessing your bigger problem is inputting the commands in time which just comes with practice.
@SFIVTrialGuide hi its the same sequence if i do it whit adon? maybe you can do a video because i try to do it but i cant, hopefully you can answer my question thanks
@cristian07051978 Adon's timing is a lot tighter, so you'll have to be faster, and you might have to hold MP and MK until you've begun dashing. In the patch coming tomorrow (if you have AE), the FADC timing will become more lenient though.
A tip for charge characters: if you hold forward whilst doing the focus attack, when you release it, you only have to press forward once more to dash. I've used this method more consistently when doing the chun-li combo in this video.
@SFIVTrialGuide Hmm, strange indeed. I'm using a RumblePad 2 analog stick, and it works. Dashing isn't trivial on this stick, thus the reason I resorted to this method.
It's entertaining to hear the slow motion voices.

kens cancel is not FADC, it's EX-cancel.
hexell0 3 months ago
@hexell0 It's an EX FADC, which is the only kind that matters in combos, which is why you don't bother with the "EX".

PERFECT tutorial. I only very recently discovered that buffering is too damn useful and how to actually do it somewhat efficiently-

@jacksp17 that method gives you less time to charge, I do not recommend it.

@SFIVTrialGuide, why would you 'charge' when you have fadc in mind next.
ibzmav 4 months ago
@ibzmav Because you have to do it in the trials? I'm sorry, I don't quite understand the question :S
