  • omg you look so much younger..congrats on your weight loss!!

  • Amelia, I had my RNY 3 days ago, after having watched virtually all of your vids from the first one. Your vlog was a big part of the research leading me up to having this done. Your one week update (where your mom comes in, and you have pink hair-what was up with that?), you said that the first week was "epic", and you were not lying at all. Yesterday was terrible, but today is better and I am home now. Thanks, Amelia, you were a big help.

  • can you help me out! I am having a hard time eating i get sick after everything i eat and i am downn for the count. I mean all day long dont know what to do? Do you have any ideas of what i can try.

  • I'd blow a load all over those titties.

  • omg ur so funnie!!!!!!

  • hi ameia have been trin to find you on face book are you there haqve lost 65 pounds 26 weeks yeeeeeeeeeeeee its me the qinn that the name of the pub i hav wendy platt gilbert please let me know

  • WOW...WOW...WOW...I will be having my gbs on November 6th and you are such an inspiration!Any hints on how to prepare for the big day? Something maybe you didn't do that you wish you had? Thanks friend! {{{HUGS}}}

  • To be honest I brought a bunch of stuff, but was too out of it to even watch the dumb TV on the wall. I wish I had brought nothing instead of all the stuff I brought. True story

  • You are doing so awesome! Your videos crack me up. I especially like the cats always moving in the background. And this time we get a peek at your hubby! Yay! Keep 'em coming. This really is an amazing documentary.

  • Thanks! I have to trick Joel into being seen...

  • Hi Ameilia,

I just had gastric bypass on the 20th of this month and I feel soooo hungry.I was wondering if you felt hungry like before the surgery. I do, and It is driving me nuts. was wondering if anybody else felt the same way? or could it be a mind thing?

  • Its probably your mind. In the beginning I knew when to eat because I would get kinda weak. You can nibble a little at a time to make sure you keep from getting too hungry. This will pass...

  • Congrads on the surgeryversary! You look so small. I am wondering how hard is it to stick to calories now with Joel cooking up a storm like that? lol.. I was rolling when you were talking about the balls....(giggles) Hope you have a great Halloween!

  • Joel makes me a small portion with lean ground sirloin, mushrooms onions and a little cheese, super flavorful in a small portion. Filling and yummy! Life after Gastric Bypass can be just as good and satisfying!

  • Congrats on 52 weeks coming up !! and thank you & all who post there stories on here in is alot of good info from real people ..

  • Amelia, You have been such an inspiration to me. I am 13 weeks post op and I am struggling with a plateau. I have lost 61 pounds so far and it has been amazing to watch your transformation. The funny thing is when I look in the mirror I don't actually see the changes. My clothing sizes have dropped a lot, but I just can't visually see it. Did you ever have that problem? I also went through a big depression for about 3 weeks. Have you had any of these issues following surgery?

  • Well, all my issues i have pretty much babbled and rambled about on here. I basically just focus on going forward. From day one deciding to have the surgery and all the steps from there to here I just made sure that whatever I did I moved forward. If you focus on your health and making sure you are eating quality low fat low sugar high protein diet and get out and move, your body will be forced to eat itself and lose weight. Plateaus are so common and just there to remind you to keep going. ;)

  • Hi Amelia, I am in the BEGINNING stage of getting surgery. I have opted (I think) for a lap band and not the bypass. I am scared and have been thinking about this for 4 years. I finally went to an information session and insurance said I needed to be on a dr. controlled diet for 3 months. Your videos have given me the courage to continue. I have been watching your videos and getting encouraged each week. You are an inpiration to me and I just wanted you to know.

  • I am blessed by your words and super touched!

  • glad to see you're doing good.you look great:)

  • Hey Amelia!

I feel your pain on the drainage instrument of torture...lol! I have one too but mine goes into my old stomache. I think it is an old school practice. My doc put it in as a part of my RNY so that I can put fluids in it in case I am too nauseous to eat or drink the old fashioned way. I am grateful for it but it is driving me **completely** nuts. I have to have it in for 4-6 weeks and I am 10 days out...GROAN...so yeahhhh. Good Luck!

    zippy

  • Wow, that is wild! I had my drains out before I went home... Oh well, just do what your told! and all will be swell!

  • I'm glad you are feeling better

  • you look really good, can't wait to see after you are all better, take care

  • Hi Amelia, I just found you a little over a week ago, and OMG I had to watch every one of your Vids. I am almost 6 weeks post Op (Monday) and I don't feel I've lost enough for the time ( 26 lbs) But I think you are such an inspiration.. I mean my Hubby has had to hear me talk about you for days now!! Anyway, my only regret is, I don't live closer to You (I'm in San Diego) I'd love to hang out, you are a trip!

    keep the inspiration coming.

    Hugggggggggggggggs

    Sherry (Ta2swb)

  • Hey ta2swb, I'll be 5 weeks post op on Monday! I have only lost 26 pounds so far, so we are pretty much in the same neighborhood...hope that helps you feel like it's going the way it should. I wrote Amelia about my concern at the lack of weight loss too, but this is all really normal. Just let it do it's thing, stressing only makes it harder to shed those pounds honey! Keep up the good work and good luck for the future loss!

  • Go to the grocery store and pick up 5 bags of 5lb sacks of sugar and tell me if that is a small feat... just focus on health and the numbers take care of themselves. Congrats!

  • lol i'm in the same boat you are....i created my youtube account back in May but Amelia is by far my favorite inspiration!!

  • Hi Amelia,

Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your videos, they have been such a huge inspiration to me in deciding to have my RNY.

You look absolutely amazing. The transformation is your videos is incredible.

I am so excited because my surgery is due on Nov 1st - exactly one year after yours! That makes it even more special to me!

Thank you so much and please continue making your videos

    Marie x

  • Sweet! Same surgiversary! I think I will always try to figure out how to have something to say. Thanks so much for the sweetness!

  • Dang, could I borrow your husband for Thanksgiving? Hehe

My aunt has a drink fridge too. LOL Condiment fridge. That's great.

  • Cass & I am sitting here looking at your tiny waist! Wow sweety!

  • The Doc says I am swollen still too LOL, hard to imagine huh? Love ya!!

  • i have been following your videos and i love it. I am entering the hospital on Oct 31 to have by bypass surgery and i am so ready for this. I have enjoyed your videos as well and thanks for giving a view so that we can know what to expect. thanks. YOU ROCK!!!

  • 1 day before my day! cool!

  • You were hilarious in this video, Joel, is this what it's like to have balls? OMG great one! I also love the way you DON'T sit with your arms crossed anymore, you are so relaxed and PROUD of your new flat tummy. You will be making next weeks video #52 on my birthday, so it will of course be your BEST weigh-in ever! Looking greater than great!

  • Wow! The difference in your waist is already amazing and you're still swollen! Remember when you used to sit with your arms in your lap to cover the tummy roll? Those days are NO MORE!! It's so awesome to see you sitting there with your arms to the side showing off that brand new shape! Looking fantastic! I agree with a previous post, the smell of the food would be driving me crazy! I would have to have a 'taste'. Keep it up, you skinny little B! LOL J/K(but only about the 'B' part).

  • LMAO you said balls *snicker* You look great!! do you get sick of hearing that? lol - Becca

  • you look sooooooo good!!! well done!!!

    ur waist is so tiny!

    XXXXXXX Alivia

  • look at that tiny waist!

  • oh yeah...and just how do you resist all that temptation happenin behind you??...the smell alone would be killin me!

  • He makes me a small portion with just ground sirloin, mushrooms and onions. No hoagie roll for me!

  • you look sooo skinny!! yeah thats right i said it....skinny!! did you ever think this day would come?? giiiirl, im ubber jealous!! keep up the good work....i hope toi be in your place someday! =o)

  • You are so tiny. Congrats on feeling better and your almost Surgiversary. Take it easy and take care.

  • lol ok i have to stop the video.... Surger-versery? lol how cute. and wow the waist looks beautiful!

  • omg Amelia..look at your tiny belly! congrats hunnY!

    XO

  • Wow, Joel cooks and cleans. Must be nice. You look great.

  • Looking great! Exciting that you are feeling better and better. The annoying part will be over soon. Still amazing how far you have come :o). Congrats! Hugs, Carolyn

  • "Is this what its like to have balls?" LOL!! Oh, man that made me laugh out loud. You're so adorable. That's very strange they didn't tell you about the JP drain beforehand. Not that it would have changed your mind about having the surgery though. But still it would have been nice to know. You look awesome and so tiny in that pink shirt its ridiculous. You're lucky you still have boobs...I'm probably going to deflate into like an A-cup! No joke. I'm so going to need a boob job. haha

  • My boobs are really sad, no joke. I am not just being self deprekating. The surgeon was like measuring them and telling me about how he can help me get them fuller and stuff. They need a bra to be ok. The next surgery is excess skin in my armpit and side-boob area and the surgeon said the side boob can be moved to the boob area to help with the fullness issue. Considering it... I hate the skin hanging over the side of my bra cup

  • You look great, I sure hope I can be small like you and hopefully be able to get a tummy tuck too, that's my dream..

    "some day"...Congrats!! Becky

  • Looking great Amelia! Enjoy your time off from work with hubby.:)

  • You are hilarious! Great vids!

  • What day did you get the tummy tuck? When were you pain-free?

  • Had it Oct 10th, first pain-free day Oct 20th, but still uncomfortable, still have a JP drain, still not able to lift things, still weak. Still have nearly 2 1/2 feet of inscision that needs to heal shut. But I am happily drug and pain free

  • Ok, I know this is really "personal" but no one ever talks about it, I dream of it, it is one of my BEST skinny fantacies.....How much better is SEX???!!! Is it better? I dream about the day that he can like lift me in the shower..... you know what I'm saying, so, that's my super personal question of questions. Sorry for putting you on the spot girl but I gotta know. You look so itty bitty, you look AMAZING, I am glad you are feeling better!(:

  • haha...I was thinking the same thing and you was brave enough to say it:)hehe

  • I felt like a total nimf asking but to tell you the truth it is what I think about most, maybe I am a nimf....LOL!!

  • Sex before the tummy tuck was seriously way better. Still waiting to heal to find out... But losing weight makes you much more limber. I am not embarassed to say sex is better, it really is!

  • YAY!!

  • You look great your waist curves in even in the binder. When you finish healing this is going to be so worth it!

  • totally! Once you break past the painful part it is so worth it!

  • You look fantabulus! Good to see you feeling much better. My son had a laugh at your balls comment--as usual, he came into the room just as you were discussing the pros and cons. Love to see some of your needle work.

    All the best - Sandi

  • It has been awesome and inspiring watching your transformation. Your family must be amazed by you. Your figure looks great and you have such a pretty face, your eyes are huge!

  • My Grandpa (fathers side) used to tease me and call me Golfball Eyes!

  • omg you look so wonderful and tiny!! I can't wait for my surgery this summer!! :) Maybe in one of your videos you could talk about the essentials for post-op people getting the same surgery and stuff we should buy and do ahead of time to be prepared!!! I think that would really help us!! :) And if you have any tips for us... etc!! :)

  • I do have a vid with a list of stuff, but maybe an updated one may be something I can do.

  • OMG Amelia, your midriff looks so tiny in that shirt even with the binder on, I can't believe it! You make us realize that these goals we give ourselves are achievable. I have 38 lbs to go till a normal BMI, & only now after 5 months do I actually believe that I too can do it. Watching your plastics journey, makes me realize that getting rid of the skin is really possible, that I can get there too! Thanks, Fab

  • It is so funny, when I was going to do the Gastric surgery, It never occured to me about plastics, and I hope that I can get people to think about it sooner. The tummy tuck is such a great thing mentally. It is like a period at the end of a sentence, a real nice reward for the effort. I will think long and hard before allowing myself to get big again. Most people don't realize you can gain the weight back WLS is not fool proof. I know for a fact that I can gain weight if I eat a certain way.

  • You look amazing! Hope you feel better and better everyday! :-)

  • what do you eat at a greek restaurant? i'm pre-op (on my clear liquid diet, fun fun), but i was worried that i would have to give up my beloved hummus and falafel.

  • Nope. You don't have to give it up. Now I am a year out so I eat different that a new post-op, but as a new post-op I ate hummus. I didn't eat falafel in the beginning but I do now. Joel and I go order 1 plate that has Falafel, hummus gyro meat lettus and tomato and onion and pita bread. I get 3 falafel balls, a spoon of hummus and I usually eat a few pieces of gyro meat and feta cheese. I put tahini on my falafel and thats it. Joel eats the rest. They must wonder why my skinny hubby gets most!

  • You look great Amelia!

  • I call my cat legless when he does that too. XD

  • You are moving around so well for having just had surgery. You look great! By the way, can you show us some of your cross-stich work? Take care.

  • sure, have to dig it up, most of it I give away but I do have a major project now that I think about it, will show soon.

  • Thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing your work.

  • I laughed my booty off at the balls comment. LOL!!!

  • you look great!!

  • your so funny lol.i love ur videos, keep em coming. its so good to see ur cats, i havent seen em in awhile.

  • Okay, I know I've said this already but...your waist is so tiny! :-) You're getting up and down with ease. Is it completely painless now?

  • Oh yeah, totally painless as of 3 days ago. It sucked and then it was fine. Totally worth it!

  • u must be off the energy gris with all those appliances.

hot pink looks good....nice to see you back to normal

  • hey amelia you are looking great...hoping to be where you are one day...right now I am day 3 post op bypass and wondering why burgers still sound so good to me while I eat my broth....I wonder if this makes me a failure already? I wrote you a little message before....I hope you continue to recover well from your tummy tuck - you really look great :)

  • OMG, you are so hilarious, comparing your jp drain to balls!!! I thought I would crack up! I'm glad to see you are feeling better! Take Care, Judy :)

  • lol We have 2 fridges 1 in the house and 1 in the garage that is for our drinks also...and then we have a huge stand up freezer in the garage too...lol. Crazy! You look FABULOUS I am so happy for you! Hopefully we can all look that great a year out!

  • See.. I wanted a stand up freezer, but Joel needed more fridge Oh well...

  • You're looking great!!!
