nice how he tries to rationalize and justify theivery. so why can they work? I see a lot of people out there flipping signs for money, not that much different than a cardboard sign with a marker
Thank you for your comment and for watching. This is a small collection of clips from the full length documentary. I will post the complete version soon, so be sure to check back. Thanks again for watching.
Makes me cry when I see this. San Diego is one of the few cities in the United States of America where the homeless CANNOT stay at a Christian shelter where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is practiced and preached every day. The staff at God's Extended Hand, Neil Good Day Center, and elsewhere are basically a bunch of arrogant you-know-what's. They care NOTHING about the homeless' spiritual needs. And the homeless should NOT be forced to camp outside because of some bull---- waiting list!!!!!
I agree. It's sad that we, as a global community, have more than enough resources to provide everyone on the planet with the necessities (shelter, food, water, clothes, etc), but our society is not designed to be efficient with what we have. Instead it's based on scarcity and self-serving motivation. It makes me sick when I hear how much our government spends on war, and then 30 years later, if a soldier that fought for our "freedom" should happen to become homeless, society simpley turns away.
I was homeless in the same place for 4 years. I knew Artie and Rory (the last gentleman in the video). I left Mission Bay behind on Sept. 11th. of 2006. I always think about that place.
I'm sorry for the delayed response. Thank you for watching, I'm glad you were able to reflect/connect through this video. This video was filmed in 2003, and this is just a small portion of the documentary. I will post the full video soon (probably in segments). How are things going for you now? If I read correctly, you're a programmer? Are you in Southern California still? Art, Rory, Hank, Diane, Larry, and everyone that I had the pleasure of meeting were all so kind & generous. Thanks again.
I'm doing contracting work now. The programming is just a hobby. There's hope for most out there but they can't do it themselves. Once you pass a certain point you have to accept help. Year after year you can see these people wither and eventually give up. Thanks for posting this. I hope Rory and Art are OK. Tell them Hi if you see them. Send me an e-mail request if you want more info.
Meanwhile they can't open up a 24-hour shelter for single men WITHOUT a stupid waiting list? If a small city like Toledo can do it, why not San Diego or any other city?
Thank you so much for your kind words, and for watching. I'm sorry for my delayed response. Check back, as the full length documentary will be posted soon. Take care and thanks for "passinthru".
