yeah hearing the pumps still running was scary. it amazes me how many cars don't have a master cutoff within the drivers reach (not just one in the back), of course that probably wouldn't have helped much in this case, she obviously had her bell rung pretty good, she was in La La Land for a bit there after the crash, probably wondering where she was for a few secs... that's one tough girl, that's a heck of a hit! glad she's ok (and yeah that shift button tower is horrible)
Amateur....you have to get your hands off the wheel when your in a situation like that. Trying to get a hold of it is one thing but after you lost it just sit back and go limp and hope for the best. That wheel will snap your wrist like a saltine cracker.

@Lochinvar111 the line lock wont lock the brakes up, you have to push them then lock the line, once you let go of the button, the pressure is released, In my opinion, it looks like the car spun the tires because she is countersteering at the moment of gear change. prob just got it out of the groove, lifted and tried to steer it too much
heard about this crash from friend who was there said school sucked she sat on towels car was not at all fitted track had no prep guy I know who was there left for the crap track said track was rented that day and there were only 2 other cars there and like others said it took them so long to turn off master power the crash happened like 4 years ago she never gave up racing she races a very fast 7 second car and has been for quite sometime. word is she is going pro stock soon. Great footage.
Her left leg goes up instantly on takeoff, why? She was obviously scared of accelerating. Don't mean to sound mean, but that's what it looks like. She looked very uncomfortable with the whole race and ended up crashing.
25 seconds for the master power to be shut off is way too much time. They shoulda had rescue crews positioned down track at several places. The guys at the starting line probably hoofed it down track, and this is a school????
she needs to snug those belts up so they can do what they are intended to. when she hit the wall she moved way out of the seat. the car must have been one size fits all. really got her bell rung too.

it was clear that it was a clutch car, the button was probably line lock for brakes she just let it get away at the gear change

i looked at the video again. she reactivated the trans brake thinking she was hitting the second gear knob. first to second is the knob from the top.

Shift hand from gravity, shoots off the stick as well. At least she is fine. She would be better off with a lower different shift mechanism.
