At Courchevel, there are two problems I (and you) encounter in Flight Simulator: the first is incorrect runway numbering (should be 4, not 5), and the second is that the controller seems to favor rwy 4 for landing, which in real life is certainly not the case (there's a mountain in the way so only rwy 22 is used).

@DrummerDG actually no. Corchevel uses a similar approach to Kai Tak. You come in perpendicular to the runway and at the last minute, you make a turn to runway heading

@loudmusicman4 'Actually' Courchevel doesn't use an approach anything like Kai Tak's IGS 13 approach. All landings are on rwy 22 and takeoff's on rwy 04. Rwy 04 does not have threshold or touchdown markings and neither runway are numerically marked. Operations out-with these procedures are not permitted.

Wow, a couple of these landings-Courcheval and TFFJ-seems unreal. They would have never made it in real life. Oh well, guess that's FS9 tfc for ya! I'm an FSX pilot, and I've got Just Flight's Traffic add-on, and it acts similar to these landings too. :)

Kai-Tak has a particularly hard approach. There is a ILS approach in almost 90º to the runway. When done with the ILS you should see some lights blinking across the city which then turn right. Follow those lights. You'll see on your left a big red and white board and the light so the turn. Turn right (really sharp turn) and the runway is there. Good luck.

i have a problem flying long-haul flights with IFR...

you have you keep being handed over to different radio communication things...("contact London center on 124.4")

That happens often, every 10minutes, its very unpredictable...and i always leave my flight going and go watch TV or sumthing... but when i come back I find i have lost radar contact!!!!

surely their must be some way that you can get ur co-pilot to hand u over so ur plane will fly and handing itself over automatically?
