Fact: These people will never go at war or kill anybody.

Nobody has suffered at a rainbow meeting or had a negative experience. Everyone gets away from there with a loss of something and most feel very happy and peaceful at such an event.

I got only once there and can say it is a very enriching and unique experience. You feel like everyone around you is a firend and genuinely connect with everyone.

@tallan1976 family will actually stay on the grounds for months afterward working in the woods cleaning up folks shit who dont shit in shitters, finding holes that aren't backfilled, discarding trash (town runs), making the woods look as if we weren't there... during the gathering we have family walking around asking for random pocket trash and also have micro trash crew. we leave a positive energy that resonates... we then re seed all of the soil and thank mother earth for being so righteous.

Interestingly,It is impossible to hold a gathering of this size and NOT negatively impact the environment.Many of the parks that gatherings are held at are home to very fragile ecosystems and species that cannot handle the mass tramplings,shampoo in the streams,etc. I think regionals are ok,but nationals should be done away with.

I've been back to SEVERAL sites after a national and the remediation is quite impressive. Even the Forrest dis-Service gives rainbow clean up high marks.How many gathering you been to?

@jasonelkhunter If you think that there were no drugs, sex, or diseases in rural areas before these people showed up you are fooling yourself. I'm a nurse and former EMT. I've worked in emergency medicine and psychiatry. I've met many former/current addicts and the majority of them are NOT hippies in any sense of the word. Also, the vast majority of said addicts lived in rural/suburban areas, not cities.

Went to north cali in 84, changed my view of those living in busses raising familys, and changed my life after that in how i raised my kids. Home schooled, or cut em lose for a real childhood.
