Basically if this tune did not have the harsh snare on every other kick, plus the distorted vocals it would be GOA TRANCE, nowhere near hard trance!! The death/black metal styled vocals are what makes the track dark, the snare makes it industrial. All in all this style is Aggrotech, a microgenre (if u like!) of electro-industrial due to its general use of harsh song structures, aggressive beats, and explicit, pessimistic, militant lyrics. Without trying to catagorise anymore, thats basically it!

It's not Hard Trance at all!

Aggrotech is a modern fushion between Electro-Industrial or Dark Electro (darker/harsher) (which is rare nowadays) and EBM with a strong influence of Techno (which you can hear by the lead synth - it's pure synthesized Techno). You can surely say that in this specific song there is Trance influence as well.

Note that Hard Trance should never contain distorted vocals. Moreover, Hard Trance mostly doesn't contain any unusual instruments related to Industrial music.

@IaguCool I think you need to stop cutting hairs. Who cares what genre someone identifies a song as, its music. And most people create too many different genres for the most simplistic changes in basic sound scape. This is especially true with anything synth or dj based.

It's important to know what genre you're listening to, so when you want to find songs similar in style, you would know what to search for. If you'll search for "Electronic music" or "Hard Trance", you'll never find what you're looking for.

@fiend1669 The first Industrial song I heard was "Nothing Left" by Psyclon Nine. What I did was checking the genre. If I didn't do so, I'd only have Psyclon Nine songs, withough the other 1000+ Industrial songs I've found by knowing the genre.

I didn't say that the genre is what makes the music more enjoyable, but the common properties of every genre can fit a specific listener.

There isn't such controversy as in Rock/Metal bands and Pop stuff, which is sometimes hard to classify... It's like you search for songs with "Harsh beat and distorted vocals" and get "Industrial" as a result, and that focuses you on the genre you actually search for.
