  • A shame that since there's no offline version, we can't buy it and use in forensics work here on my department. This stuff can't be public, or even online. The point cloud is amazing, but the whole representation of the scene with photos is, per se, a very valuable tool. Hope some offline softaware that doeas this kind of syncronization comes out soon.

There a couple of offline solutions that I have not made public yet, but if there is a case you wanted synthed, please send me a private message.

    More to come...stay tuned.

Lool for "bundler" on Google. This is a stand alone program that has the same basic code as Photosynth. Also, there are other photogrammetry programs that will work just as effectively for point cloud generation.

  • can you export the point cloud data to liek a dxf or some sort file format?

  • It is possible, but imagine trying to manipulate a few million or more points in CAD program...it would just get bogged down and be impractical. A good program to use is something like Alice Labs' Studio Clouds or other point cloud software.

  • I requested a usernam and password and I am just waiting to get my download of studio clouds. I want to be able to isolate areas in a point cloud to create a high resolution mesh. Your videos are awesome btw!

  • it would be cool to manipulate photosynth with x-box project natal! think about it!? ;-)

  • The company is from Holland so it's about 4am there now :-) I expect you will have everything tomorrow. They will have a modeling module out in the near future, but it is still under development. The viewer and editor are available for purchase but you can try them for 30 days.

I have found that unless it is a very organically shaped object, buildings and other architectural features are best modeled by bringing the point cloud in Max.

    Thanks for your comments!
