  • Fantastic! Thanks!

  • Cool Video - Your playing reminds me of Chet Baker. I've watched this video 3 times and I don't know what you are talking about when you say step 1 or step 2 or step 3 of the ladder? Do you mean chord intervals? As in D diminished step one on ladder is D step 2 is F step 3 is Ab??

  • YO!!

  • I'm totally in Jazz love with this guy!

  • very beautyful music my friend:)

  • He is my jazz teacher. we helped him make jazz everyone!

  • Very nice Willie! Keep bringing the good music!

  • yeah that tritone thing stings but in a good way

  • I'm really glad I found your channel and thanks for the great lesson and website. Really good playing, lots of feeling and sincerity. Thanks for your efforts.

  • tio eres la ostia!!!! / you're the bomb!! i suscribed to you!!

  • Where does this chuck get off. "It's impossible to sound good on tunes like this without using diminished jazz vocabulary."

Hai gaiz. I'm gonna like.. go home and shed on that diminished jazz. I need to get more of that diminished jazz vocabulary so I can be a great shredding musician. :B

  • Bravo!!!

    Roberto.

  • Thanks for this great lesson! You make it fun!

  • cool ++ still jazz is more than a funny berrett a funny trumpet nd a funny number of scales nd more than jazz itself ::..::..:. o:.

  • best lesson ever (for me) and i dont play trumpet but guitar.. great info. thanks

  • Awesome videos.

  • whatever : pure genious*

  • I don't get it, he isn't playing what's on that sheet?

  • @homeguitarlessons

no, but he's improvising on the chord changes though

  • @1979saxman That's not improvising. Lol. That's playing muscular memory stuff and stuff that you've practiced before.

  • @MagicRain505 What? Please explain, for a non-experienced improviser, what you mean by that?

  • thank u uncle Willie,am learning a gr8 deal thru ur posts.God bless you.

  • Much interesting, somehow Aebersold. Good sound trumpet.

  • Cool sounds and great info here. Thanks for the post!

  • Fantastic! This is real shit right here.

  • Willie Thomas is the coolest cat on youtube, his videos are the best I have found for learning jazz tonality

  • Thank you so much Mr. Thomas. Very well done and great explanations.

  • :))))

  • très bon ,very nice ,i learn the much things

  • I have no idea what he's talking about...

  • Your efforts are highly appreciated. Thank you for sharing this information.

  • For my two cents worth ... jazzy teach ... you are splitting hairs ... his point is to show ways of getting outside the sound of straight diatonic chords. Mr Willie Thomas ... I am from HK and love your site ... and thank you for your time efforts and passing on your deep understanding

  • What a cool dude

  • it's okay

  • "it's impossible too sound good on a tune without using dimished vocab"-not true at all. there's the altered scale, chromatic runs and other non-diatonic scales used

  • To Jazzyteach65 ....." point taken" .... I agree ... that it is quite possible to sound good with anything you use that fits the moment and sounds good .... which includes an almost unlimited potential for note or scale selection, .... so .... accept my humble apology in overstating my penchant for the diminished vocabulary, which I'm sure you'll agree has a prominent place in that realm of possibilities! Good call!

  • @Jazzyteach65 he said tunes like this, not tunes in general. it makes more sense that way, because of the minor 2-5's in what is this thing called love, and how they directly relate to the diminished sound.

  • Great video, If you need any help getting your videos or channel exposed, i use a service called thetubeviews . net it has helped 5 of my videos get ranked on the first page

    Have A Blessed Night
