I've been fishing out of a dory since i was 10 (1980) and i have never or ever seen someone launch with the motor up like that! If you tried that in Oregon you would end up swamped. As you can see in this video there is almost no control when they go out. If a big set comes in how do you run out for it?
@lendundee Yep, they have only been doing it like this everyday for around 80yrs or so in all sizes of surf. Clearly they dont know what they are doing.....
I agree!! I just ordered a 24ft tilt bed trailer. These boats are fairly light and they are in a hurry. They fire up in pretty shallow water, so leave the motors up till they get passed the breakers. This is how these boys do it.
