  • GO TO WORK STEPPERS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i loved this album and played it everyday...i still have it!

  • this is my favorite song & i listen to it because of Fox News Chicago

  • SOUND OFF!

  • I love this version! The Stylistics is one of my favorite groups. Reminds me of my childhood!

  • No, This is the remake.

King wrote the music to It's Too Late. Toni Stern wrote the lyrics.

  • Guitar, Strings, Horns, vibes & a percussion section to die for.... Must be too much effort for today's so called artist to go through....

  • Everytime I listen to this song, this beautiful arrangement just stays in my mind. The perfect way to "tune out". It is just so perfect--strings, Russell's vocals, Vince Montana on vibes and Don Renaldo's Horn section...Lord have mercy...thank God for the Philly sound!

  • Slaughterhouse killed this. /watch?v=rooQ1flVRIo

  • This is great

  • Billy Pauls version first, then this one.

  • The horns and arrangement make this version my favorite!

  • SLAUGHTERHOUSE GOT A SONG TO THIS

  • This is the original version of this song, later Carol King or who ever remade the song. So all of you think it's not do your research on the Stylistics. And then you'll know.

  • @198303221 ur right this is the original version

  • evilcrunch, the first artist to sing this song was Carol King in the early seventies, I don't know who Ralfi Pagans is/are, I haven't heard their version but I feel the Stylistics took this song and made it their own. There aren't to many groups that can do that today. I believe Carol King was impressed with their version as well.

  • sounds like a variation of Isaac Hayes' version..... HEY,... It IS!

  • TRIVIA...

Did you know that there were actually TWO versions of this album,

The one you see here with the FISTS and one without...

remember this was during the 70's and there was a lot af radicalism going on, and right after they released the fists, ths NEXT press of the album they quietly disappeared.

    Check out your parents albums

  • This is the most beautiful arrangement EVER! The orchestra, the vocals...It to me YEARS to find this on vinyl. This song leads right into one of the other "bests" on the LP and the lead in is beautiful done. The just don't make music like this anymore. We love you Thom Bell and Linda Creed.

  • MFSB CAN'T BE TOUCHED!! EVER!!! NEVER!!!! Russell's voice is crazy, amazing someone can sound like that. Who sounds like that now? uuummm NO ONE!!! Carole King, BADDEST WHITE LADY IN THE GAME!!! Too bad we don't have artists like this right now.

  • @enoughsaidatl Think you bout said it all.....Phil Perry & the Montclairs were right up there though - just didn't get the same playtime.

  • @enoughsaidatl Caroll King and LInda Creed!!!!

    Taken too early by Cancer

  • @enoughsaidatl

Did you know that There were only 3 house orchestras during that time

    MSFB - Philly lables

Salsoul - Avco international lable (?)

    and

Love unlimited orchestra - 20th Century.

The orchestras NEVER got direct credit, but if you check the album lines, the same musicians are across all of the albums.

    CONSISTENCY!!!!! thatsh the ticket!!!

  • This is so disappointing I believe that the URL code for this song is wrong because out of all of the songs that I've been successful with converting to audio this one just wont convert-and unfortunately all of the vids for this song this the same URL.

  • @MrNolandmcfarland

Go to rhapsody, and play it there, then record it while its playing with "wave pad"

    Direct from the sound card

Save as mp3... there you go...

You can do it just like you did in the 70's with your mic hanging in front of the speaker (just like me)

    LOL!!!!1

  • Hope i can get some help. I believe it was the stylistics that made this song( but not 100% on that) any way the lyrics start out like this "who knows my love what the future brings all the unkown things what tomorrow holds. They say my love life can be unkind bring no peace of mind thats what we"ve been told...if you are there ,there with me all the way nothing new can stop me nothing new will make me afraid" if anyone can post it please do so IM BEGGING!!!

  • he killed this song 4 real carole king did her thing too.

  • Man old man how did I miss this song when I was a little kid back in Brooklyn, NY around 1973

I play round II album literally every day. Hey old school brothers-- Brake up to make up, you as right as rain was so good on this album. Such a classic. Peace Trae

  • Smooth Cool So Cold Great Soul Of Our Lives......Awesome!

  • this is the shit its true when its to late but fuck it now all you could do is keep making it you no that your worth more than that for sure........

  • This is the shit ! It's the true when something has dye inside you can't hide and you can't fake it....

  • This was sampled in Slaughterhouse - Sound Off... probably the best beat on their album.

  • @HipHopAus It was also used in "Just Call My Name" by Edo G.

    Pete Rock produced it.

  • Love how cool this version is, and the horns are so on point. And, Russell is at the top of his game here. Can't help but love this song:)

  • Carole King - Lady could write some shit - add the Stylistics, backed by MSFB, and you had some serious groovin' goin' on.

  • @gorillabychoice PREACH, PREACH, PREACH!!!!!!

  • @gorillabychoice Love the Isley Bros. version also

  • Carol King wrote and did this song first!!

  • DE SU SEGUNDO ALBUM

  • love this song who made it first stylistics or carol king

    Taylor V

  • actually i take that back its after 4 minutes...

  • the pete rock sample is around 1:50 or after

  • love the horn arrangement especially in this song..trumpets. trombones and those beautiful french horns...such class

    As I've said a million times.MFSB REIGNS!!!

  • MelaninMan : Yes

  • this is beautiful

  • I tried to make it work, but it was totally impossible. I didnt want to leave, but I needed to.

  • DAMN !! THIS MY SHIT ~~

  • I love the stylistics but Ralfi Pagans version way better

  • Never heard his version but I just looked it up on You Tube and its good but its too fast for the song IMO. Like for me if your talking about a failing relationship and you really cared for the person you write a song its not gonna be as upbeat.

  • Without going too deep into this, your comment is just a matter of opinion, really though!

  • It is ... that's why I put IMO, no offense to his or yours.

  • but to clear it up a little I'm not saying a year later or a couple of months later. I mean as it's going on or maybe a week after but that's how I interpret the song.

  • I can't help but ask this question, so pardon me if I sound rude. But, who was talking to you?

  • Oh LOL I thought you talking to me LOL, My bad.

  • It's cool:o)

  • The youtube comment system makes that very hard to tell lol

  • @evilcrunch

I don't believe this is the original, but the timing and tone is very much like the original. I was listening to this the first time around. And I have always liked it.

  • pete rock edo g

  • Pete rock used this beat?

  • Love the pimped-out melody. Man, this rendition is just beautiful. Love this better that the original:)

  • Arrion Love should have sung lead way more than he did, or should I say, should have been allowed to sing more lead.

  • The genius of Thom Bell and Linda Creed

  • damn why they cant make good music no more this is a good one

  • The writing and the music sheets were excellent!

  • As a lady who cannot get enough of the Philly sound even today, all this beautiful music just makes my day so much better. Always a smile on my face and warmth in my heart hearing songs like "It's Too Late" and everything else by the Stylistics with MFSB. Thanks for the reply JohnnyLoco23--glad we share the same feelings about great music!

  • This is the ish!!!! Russell Thompkins/son

has the best falsettos of the 70s and from what I hear, he can still sing just like he did back in the day.

  • i like the cut after this one children of the world, i think the name of it, it was and excellent cut too. can somone play the continuing after this one by stylistist. thanks

  • one of the stylists great hit, really enjoyed it, the whole album was beautiful.

  • It was a album that could be played start to finish and you wouldn't want to skip a song

  • Love this version of this song..smooth, jazzy and perfect. MFSB's orchestration is flawless--listen to those horns. Sounds like they're talking to each other at the end of the song--french horns, trumpets, trombones, Vince Montana on vibes, etc. etc. And of course, Russell's beautiful voice. LOVE IT!!! And don't forget those strings..NOTHING BETTER THAN THIS, FOLKS....

  • yeah I love the style they always had

  • man, you are completely right, i feel the same way, it sounds like they talking to eachother, lifting eachothers spirits or something like that.

funny to see that other people think the same thing hehe.

  • Thank You ! Imagine i bay the original vinyle this summer in Manilla Philippines...ah ah, Big Up!

  • OH BABY!!!!

This may be the "only" album in "Red-Light, Blue-Light Basement Party" history, where you can just drop the needle & sloooo dance with that special someone for the entire album :-)

Don't ever forget real singers & musicians!

    Thanks for the post...

  • This is my cut I't s for a the true stlylistis fan thank for posting

  • You can tell this is the stylistics. Style of the music especially in the beginning. Was this originally a Carol King number? This is a smooth version. thanks

  • Yeah the patterns are distinctive. Yeah I think she did do the original one though.

  • Yup, Carole King and her writing partner Toni Stern, wrote this, while Lou Adler produced it as a jazzy track; was the hit single from her 1971 Tapestry LP, the biggest-selling LP of all time in its day (#1 for 2 consecutive years). Stylistics Round2 LP was recorded while Tapestry was hauling in music awards from everyone; her tune beat out Isaac Hayes "Shaft" for Grammy Record of Year.

  • This cover sounds like a tribute to her original; certainly some GREAT musician arranging here by Thom Bell; but these boys had the pipes to do a more passionate vocal on this and make it their own, vocally', like Aretha does with her remakes, in my opinion.
