it took me since 1983 to find this song. nobody knew who she was and yes...awesome...i saw her live...fantastic horn section...and yes PURE FUNK. thank you for posting this. research and perserverance is goooood. lol
Hey, can anyone recommend me something similar to Maxayn's The Finger Points to You? I've check the discography, but can't find it anywhere on their albums, and the stuff that's on YouTube is funkier.. Thanks
To say Andre Lewis was 1 of the pioneers of electronic funk is WRONG!! ANDRE LEWIS IS THE 1, THE ONLY,THE FIRST, AND THE LAST WORD ON ELECTRONIC FUNK!!! THE ORIGINATOR!!! HE WAS SEQUENCING BEFORE THERE WAS SEQUENCING!! MAN WAS A FUNK -CLAV - GENIUS!!! EVERYONE COPIED HIM!!! EVERYONE!! HE WAS THE FIRST TO USE A SYNTH LIKE THAT!!!! THE PHRST!!! MADE SOUNDS THEY STILL USE TODAY!!! MAXAYN WOULD OPEN FOR LABELLE, AND TEAR IT UP!!! LUCKILY THEY BACKED UP LABELLE!! ANDRE LEWIS GENIUS!!!!
This cut got the booties bouncin, yo! What the hell happened to this young generation givin up the funk? The Moog kicks ass here! This cut is mad stoopid! andre lewis yo.
I forgot this one.. I had all of their albums back in Philly. Maxayn was always ahead of its time.. I remember arriving at the Spectrum late and missing their performance prior to Buddy Miles. Can you upload "Fun"
Livin in L.A. and San Francisco now.. I thought they were from California? Are they?

Hey Andre - Jerry Wells formerly of WDAS FM in Philly - LOVED Y'all! Met you at McGonigle Hall in Philly. Curtis Mayfield Concert - went all night long! Those were the days!!!
I remember you and all the rest of the DJs on WDAS!!! Isn't Terri Wells your sister? You guys were Great, back in the day when there was REAL MUSIC!!! Dr.Perry Johnson,Primus,Tony Brown,Mimi,Doug Henderson, etc. And I can't forget about Mitch Gilbert, with his inspiring commentaries!!!
Thank you for your kind comments. WDAS FM was the best fun I ever had. The music was just better then! And it stands the test of time. I'm so glad folks put this great stuff up on YouTube so we can let the youngsters hear some REAL MUSIC!
