I'm sure Einstein is in heaven for being 'ethnically jewish.' Even if he didn't believe god seems way more concerned with race like the other sadistic jew obsessed guy was
when the new earth and new heavens are created the earth and heavens will be consumed by fire..also after this takes place..noone will remember anything..so, this video is only of your logic here on earth not divine wisdom nor, wisdom which comes from the darkness.
@lindsey842 You really are dumb. Why have you used quotation marks then proceeded to make up your own quotation. When did I say (in quotes) "follow his techniques"? "Techniques" where did that come from.
However I was making the point that invariably if you call yourself a christian, its generally a rule that you believe the bible is true, and also that you live by what jesus taught. Have you heard of jesus?
Are you now saying that you DON'T follow Jesus' teachings? What about Ganesh?
@lindsey842 There's a MASSIVE difference. I don't state that I follow divine teachings from god, YOU DO! That is why you're a hypocrite and I'm not. Besides I have been nothing but civil to you, I've simply been a mirror to your own immorality, prejudices and ignorance. An eye for an eye....
@lindsey842 Are you aware that Jesus taught, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Do you understand this? He said treat EVERYBODY with respect and empathy, not just people you know. You're a pathetic Christian and morally inept!! And please remember its not me that is judging your unchristian behaviour, its GOD! You don't even follow god's teachings!
@lindsey842 So why are you saying you know what happens? You have made several statements of certainty, based entirely on the fact that your family told you to believe in christianity. If your family were Hindu's you'd believe in reincarnation, likewise Buddhism and nirvana. Pathetic!
And still no apology? Despite the fact that god has witnessed your ungodly actions, and has the power to send you to hell. And you've had the audacity to call me dumb. You're joke.
@lindsey842 You missed out the first three reasons...and subsequent six.
RE Death. Yes, that was the point I was making, death is integral to who we are and to our appreciation of existence, without the concept, we would be impossibly divorced from who we are.
"you wudnt even kno wat dieing is or death or pain"
Incorrect, 1) its possible to be banished from heaven. 2) pleasure only exists as a comparison of pain. 3) Your beliefs are without foundation!
@lindsey842 You missed out the first three reasons...and subsequent six.

thats my point you never said u were a christian and really anyother christian wud love to go to heaven and no I don't think that I'm "allowed" to judge ppl. What are sum of the questions I didn't answer? one more thing you didn't answer my questions too smart one
@lindsey842 If you're aware that you're not allowed to judge people, and presumably you also believe that people shouldn't be insulted etc (as prescribed by your god), why have you not apologised to me for acting contrary to god and jesus? Hypocrisy perhaps?
The concept of heaven is impossible, flawed and pathetically dualistic.
Q What part of my comment was unfair or erroneous?
Also, please point out the logical errors you believe are in the video. Start with reason 1. Good luck :D
@lindsey842 1) "obviously" Ha ha ha congratulations :D When did I state that I was a christian? A video admonishing the concept of heaven/hell was quite a clue. 2) I suspect strongly that I know SIGNIFICANTLY more about christianity than you. 3) Why haven't you responded to any questions or even presented a case in opposition. 4) As a christian are you suggesting that you are allowed to judge others, and that you are allowed to level prejudicial insults at people?
@lindsey842 Actually, a majority of agnostics and atheists know more about religion than religious people do, because most were raised religious. Look it up if you don't believe me, there have been numerous studies done on it.
@the dumbass who made this video IM SORRY I DON'T LIVE UP TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS! also don't pick on me I'm only 13 and I was brought up an Christian...if u don't mind what's your religion? or do u not hav one?
@lindsey842 1) "dumbass"? That's not a very christian approach is it? Thou shall not judge. 2) No you've perfectly met any expectations I may have had of you. 3) "don't pick on me"? Explain. I have simply responded to a comment. What part of my comment was unfair or erroneous? 4) Yep you've been raised as a christian, that's why you believe it, if you'd been raised as a Hindu you'd believe that. Not a great basis for truth is it. 5) No
@lindsey842 Ermmmm....good argument? (exceptionally prejudicial, judgemental and close-minded though). Perhaps you should watch something before deciding your response to it. I'm guessing that's not of great importance to you. I certainly believe it'll be a stretch for you to actually offer a reasoned critique?
If I were an atheist, I would admit that morality doesn’t exist concretely and are just arbitrary rules set by Man, which I am one of, so might make as the most noble goal in life to enslave the world and have them build a giant pyramid to myself as “Lord of All.” Now I realize that near all atheists are moral, upstanding people. I’m just saying that this doesn’t actually follow from their philosophy as it comes from an innate desire to do good.
@tolkien1138 1) I didn't say atheist, I said all religions are wrong 2) Why would you believe enslaving the world would be beneficial, wise, or the best thing to do? Can you not conceive of the concept of empathy, or do you need help with your morality. 3) The bible and god promotes/justifies slavery, gods words were used to initiate and maintain the African slave trade. 4) Being nice because you want to be, is better than because you're being threatened or rewarded by a god. Do you agree?
@Dom0nePhilosophy “How does that fit with the bible saying that yahweh is the one true god?” There is a notion that the original belief was that there are other gods, but YHWH is superior to them. Also related is some Church Fathers who say they are demons. The other option is they are *inaccurate* attempts at describing the One True God. Obviously an inaccurate description taken as a whole is not true, but an attempt nonetheless.
@tolkien1138 I love the basis of your belief in christianity and presumably everything you live by ie words such as, "notion", "assumption", "have to", etc etc and even more farcical is how you are unable to differentiate this abundant unsubstantiation with things that are certain (as certain as we are able to be of anything) ie things we can actually test or repeat etc etc etc etc and not things that simply make us happy.
@Dom0nePhilosophy “What are you talking about? And how does this answer anything?” To the claim that there are “identical claims in other religions.” Catholicism is unique in meeting my third criterion for belief “There must be a system in place to prevent the revelation from getting lost over time.” The Church’s dogmas have been consistent for the last 2,000 years.
I said “compatible” to be clear. What do you think Genesis 3 is about?
@tolkien1138 Are you genuine? Are you taking drugs? You're in you own tolkien fantasy world, please try reality, its scary but its all we've got.
"There must be a system in place to prevent the revelation from getting lost over time". Could you just remind me of how many christian denominations there are? Besides the bible is interpreted through the fallibility of man and has been edited and manipulated to death.
What about purgatory?
2,000 year old dogmas :D Why are you proud of that?
@Dom0nePhilosophy For the minority of religious contributors that actually fall into that category? Yes. Even then I would side with “delusional” 99% of the time. It’s actually not that uncommon in that people are wrong about their perceptions without being an all-out schizophrenic.
1)OK. We need a belief in God to some degree in order to have morality, even if it is a laissez-faire Deist God who establishes a natural morality.
@tolkien1138 1) "OK. We need a belief in God to some degree in order to have morality". Are you speaking on behalf of yourself or everybody in the world? Please discount me from anything you believe you are capable of deducing please!!!! I don't know how to break this to you, but you are well below the pinnacle of human thinking and logic.
2) "you might as well live it up in a totally megalomaniacal way". Why? To even pose this statement shows how morally inept aren't you?
@Dom0nePhilosophy . 2) I doubt the existence of non-physical entities like morality and empathy. Atomic particles don’t care what you do, so you might as well live it up in a totally megalomaniacal way. 3) Too long a topic to get into here, but see the wikipedia article “Catholic Church and Slavery,” which begins (cont.)
@tolkien1138 Correction 2) *...shows how morally inept you are. 3) Wikipedia? Why don't you just read in the bible where god (who is infallible) says that owning and beating your slave is justified, instead of a internet document written by someone who I would be confident is fallible and has a VESTED INTEREST in justifying that god wasn't justifying slavery (perhaps a christian?). If I was a god i would have simply written, slavery is wrong. SIMPLE.
@Dom0nePhilosophy “In 1965 the Second Vatican Council declared without qualification that slavery was an "infamy" that dishonored the Creator and was a poison in society. This declaration was the culmination of a long debate that began early in the history of the Church.” 4) “Nice” is irrelevant; I take you to mean loving/charitable? It would be preferable to do it out of love of God, but any “inferior” motive will suffice.
@tolkien1138 "It would be preferable to do it out of love of God". Which of these people are acting with greatest benevolence? They're are motivated to help an old person cross the road for eg.
A: Because they fear god will punish them if they don't
B: Because they understand the person might find it difficult/dangerous without assistance
C:They want god to see how kind they are so they get into heaven
D:They hope the woman will leave them money in her will
Ironically I am an engineer by trade XD On the other hand, I have to question how well you did in English Lit. Imagery, theme, characterization, allegory, allusion, etc: these are the tools needed to read the Bible, not just reading comprehension. Definition of fraudulent (comparative more fraudulent, superlative most fraudulent) 1. dishonest; based on fraud or deception
2. false; phony. What about Buddhism is fraudulent?
@tolkien1138 English lit? Are you aware that the bible has been regurgitated and cropped and translated into english. English lit is irrelevant.
I'm fully aware of the characteristics needed to read the bible/koran and arrive at a credulous conclusion. Thats why all religion are dangerous. They can justify anything.
Yes at the very least 99% of religions are fraudulent.
Why did you choose christianity as opposed to shintoism? Why don't you accept shintoism?
@Dom0nePhilosophy You could use what you know from English lit. and apply it to the original Hebrew/Greek if you want (assuming you know Hebrew and Greek) :D I assume other religions are being honest even if they are incorrect. Why do you think they are acting fraudulently??
My criteria for belief is threefold: 1. It must be a revelatory religion, as there is no way to learn about God through natural reason alone. 2. It must be logically consistent. A four-sided triangle is always impossible.
@tolkien1138 They follow different rules, hence "english lit" ie different languages. Besides "Sherlock Holmes" is grammatically perfect, it doesn't make the stories true.
"I assume other religions are being honest even if they are incorrect". Why? Are you really so simple to not see the benefits of making up religions. Re-watch "I KNOW god exists".
Because they are stating things as true that they know are false (unless ALL religious contributors were suffering from delusion - impossible)
@tolkien1138 "criteria for belief/hope" 1) "there is no way to learn about God through natural reason". Correct! The only things that we are able to determine that exist ARE natural. If god exists, its IMPOSSIBLE for anybody to be sure. If you disagree, tell me the infallible, objective method.
2) "It must be logically consistent". And any logical inconsistencies you find, you simply state they shouldn't be taken literally etc :D
Apply these rules, and you can believe ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING!!!
@Dom0nePhilosophy I don’t know what grammar has to do with anything. I’m talking about literary analysis; these are universal. See how the Iliad can be enjoyed as a 21st century movie in English as a movie as much as an ancient Greek poem. Yes, it's true that something can be false and still be logically consistent, but the negation is false and does eliminate some things. Also whether a literal or figurative sense doesn’t change the logic of it any; real and pretend triangles still have 3 sides
@Dom0nePhilosophy This will throw you for a loop: I believe the Lord of the Rings contains nearly as much truth as the Bible. Yes I know it’s fictional. Can you understand what I mean by this?
Are you honestly so paranoid as to think much of the people on this planet are lying to you? Or does it make more sense that people actually believe what they say they do, for better or for worse?
@tolkien1138 This will throw you for a loop? Will it? Quite the opposite mr tolkien. There are NO differences between the two. A world of escapism from reality. A structuring of life into a childish characatures of good versus evil. FANTASY
We both agree that all non-christian religions present false gods/claims. The contributors to these religions obviously know this, therefore any claim to the contrary is deliberately fraudulent. Are you suggesting ALL contributors were deluded?
@Dom0nePhilosophy "A world of escapism from reality. A structuring of life into a childish characatures of good versus evil. FANTASY" So you DO have a problem with it, even as a story? :D
No I don't think it is obvious. To me they are already more true than false. There aren't that many religious founders to begin with. Many are about philosophy more than in visions and the like. I think the original authors knew they were writing mythology and would be shocked that people took them literally.
@tolkien1138 "So you DO have a problem with it, even as a story"? When did I say I had a problem with it? Good vs evil IS undoubtedly a childish caricature because its EXCEPTIONALLY naive and false. Hollywood films and religion are enticing (and enjoyable) because of this very virtue. Likewise fantasy is amazing, so long as people aren't gullible enough to believe it, or to need it to exist.
So spiderman is more true than false? NY exists, buildings exist, spiders exist. I worship spiderman.
@tolkien1138 cont) If the whole premise of a religion is stating that X is a god. If X is not a god, that religion is fraudulent and dangerous. Its irrelevant whether bits of it are true. If a conman asks for money to cure his mums cancer. The fact that cancer and money exist, does not make the premise more truthful than false. I can't believe you dont or dont want to understand these simple concepts.
There are MANY founders just within Xtianity, but I stated CONTRIBUTORS to ALL religions! MANY!
@Dom0nePhilosophy “It’s IMPOSSIBLE for anybody to be sure” Correct. But it’s not about being “sure.” I have to trust that the Apostles are correct in their teaching, but that’s the only assumption I have to make. (cont.)
@tolkien "I have to trust that the Apostles are correct in their teaching, but that’s the only assumption I have to make".1) Why do you HAVE to? 2) That's the only assumption you need to make! If everybody leaped to that baseless, credulous, blind, erroneous, naive, foundationless, contradictory, fantastical, desperate assumption, then EVERYBODY would be a christian.
The question is, is it valid to implicitly and blindly trust the fallible and unbelievable stories of these pre-darkage men?
@Dom0nePhilosophy "Why do you HAVE to?" I don't, as I stated later in the post. I do think everybody would become Christian if they actually studied it enough. Find some fatal flaws and get back to me.
@tolkien1138 To repeat you said "I have to trust that the Apostles are correct in their teaching, but that’s the only assumption I have to make". So you don't HAVE to now...and you don't need to rely on an assumption anymore? :D This is funny. Unfortunately the burden of proof is on YOU (this is another premise you seem scarily unaware of). Tell me how you are able to establish that the disciples are accurate? Particularly in light of....(cont)
@tolkien1138 cont2) 1) identical claims in other religions, by other men you've never met, who didn't even exist at the time of jesus. 2) a lack of any corroborating evidence 3) claims that go against EVERYTHING that is understood of existence 4) words that have been manipulated.
You would need to satisfy these. Please just be honest and say that you NEED religion, and are too challenged to think for yourself...and it was the first religion you heard of, and your environment is christian.
@Dom0nePhilosophy Everything else follows objectively (as it becomes a matter of history rather than personal feelings for the Pope on down) and infallible (since one of the propositions from the Apostles is that Jesus founded the Church and gave to her the Holy Spirit, without which the meaning would become lost to personal interpretation over time). You could not make this assumption and be perfectly consistent, it just leads to a permanent state of unknowing.
@tolkien1138 "it just leads to a permanent state of unknowing". It always makes me EXCEPTIONALLY annoyed when people are distinctly and maliciously unable to differentiate between the doubt of supernatural claims made by people they have never met, as a counterpoint to the doubt that the chair in front of them exists. Its as CONTEMPTIBLE as believing that there was a first human, or that humans preceded unicellular organisms. Contemptible, laughable and desperate!
@Dom0nePhilosophy That's exactly how I feel about someone who overgeneralizes from their results! A common example is if it is a ghost moving a rocking chair. If you check and find a draft, then you know it's not a ghost. If you can't find a source, you must say "I don't know what's causing it to move." Let people take that as they will. Now people who insist it's a ghost after the source has been found, those I have a problem with.
@tolkien1138 Are you aware that lying is a sin? It wasn't a typo! Typos dont affect entire sentences and paragraphs and consecutive messages, they just affect "wurds".....do you see what I've done there :D
Question: If christianity and all religions were proved to be undeniably wrong, what would that mean for your life? What would you feel about life? Scared, excited, fascinated, suicidal, amazed, empty? What about your morality, you'd no longer know what was good or bad?
@Dom0nePhilosophy I actually thought there was a book called "Spiderman and Philosophy". Apparently it's in the works. But yes Spiderman is true "with great power comes great responsibility" and all.
You can also see it as everyone viewing the same God to various degrees of accuracy. Martin Luther formulated some ideas about God that he was committed to. The Buddha found answers to human suffering through meditation.
@tolkien1138 "You can also see it as everyone viewing the same God to various degrees of accuracy". How does that fit with the bible saying that yahweh is the one true god? Contradictory? So all gods thats have ever been created are real gods? How do you know which gods to include? Is Thor or Ra simply the god of the bible, but just viewed slightly inaccurately. Is the christian god simply a slightly inaccurate view of the true god ghanesh?
@Dom0nePhilosophy These people need not be deluded nor fraudulent. Just as if someone honestly believes his grandmother’s tonic can cure cancer, he is not a con man by definition, as you can’t defraud by accident.
I don’t HAVE to if I want to be a Deist, which I thought I made clear when I said further down “You could not make this assumption and be perfectly consistent, it just leads to a permanent state of unknowing.”
@tolkien1 "Just as if someone honestly believes his grandmother’s tonic can cure cancer". I'm getting tired of pointing out OBVIOUS errors in your thinking. He someone says that they saw somebody walking on water, if indeed it didn't happen the person can only be deluded or fraudulent. Lets ignore that the person that wrote that had never met jesus, and was born after his death. Deluded or fraudulent?
"permanent state of unknowing". Try believing natural things, and doubt the supernatural. Easy
@Dom0nePhilosophy There is no religion that even claims to have a sustainable system like the Catholic Church. There is no authoritative body in Islam to state that Al Qaeda is wrong and the moderates are right, for example. The Catholicism experiment has been running for 2,000 years now and hasn’t gone off the rails yet.
OK, you have never said “left” when you meant “right”? Anyway, please admit that all humans share a common human ancestor.
@tolkien1138 What are you talking about? And how does this answer anything?
"The Catholicism experiment has been running for 2,000 years now and hasn’t gone off the rails yet". Please tell me you're joking. If you believe that statement, you are fundamentally deluded, and i've wasted my time talking to someone that has lost grip with reality!
"please admit that all humans share a common human ancestor".
Your claim was parity between adam & eve and evolution. Both statements are inaccurate!!!
@Dom0nePhilosophy 3. There must be a system in place to prevent the revelation from getting lost over time, as there would be no point in giving this revelation just for it to get forgotten and misconstrued out of existence. I’m not a Shinto from 1 and I’m not a Muslim from 3. I could be a Deist instead.
All people have a longing for truth and happiness from birth. They see beauty in creation and ask what that speaks of its Creator. This gives rise to religious expression found in every corner of the globe.
“If something is recognised … as a story!” Agreed! But people kill people because of the ascension? Because people kill people, the ascension isn’t real? Given that people kill for secular reasons just as easily. (cont.)
@tolkien1138 "They see beauty in creation and ask what that speaks of its Creator". Not everybody! Processes create things. If you wish, argue that your god creates the processes. Your statement "all people" is demonstrably wrong!
Yes people kill because they follow the "true" supernatural, ascending god. If jesus didn't ascend but just died like everybody else, there would be no christianity to die or kill for.
@Dom0nePhilosophy OK, God creates and sustains the processes. Not a relevant difference. Can you find one example where someone doesn't implicitly do this? "If jesus didn't ascend but just died like everybody else, there would be no christianity to die or kill for." There would just be something else instead.
@Dom0nePhilosophy it makes more sense that this is a part of human nature brought to religion rather than caused by it. Especially when one has to ignore key portions about not killing in order to do so. Also, the adherents of religions being total douchebags (with which I couldn’t agree more!) is irrelevant to the truth of that religion (essentially ad hominem).
It is innate to every man’s nature to want to be with God, and the only ones who go to hell are those who have perverted their own natures to the point where God’s love becomes abhorrent to them. (part 2 of 2)
OK, so you've established you disagree with Fundamentalist Christians who take the most shallow reading of the Bible and refuse to explore religion any deeper than "Because the Bible says so." But what about all those who pursue science and reason as a means to better knowing and serving God?
Heaven is eternal unity with God, while hell is eternal separation from God, as defined by the Catholic Catechism and probably most “mainstream” Christians. (part 1 of 2)
@tolkien1138 Tell me about this "scientifically" justified heaven. Firstly tell me how you've established the concept of heaven scientifically. Science and reason suggests that we die and get eaten by maggots. Are you aware that you're just interpreting the bible like every other person. Verify the basis of your certainty please.
Secondly, how are the points stated in the video still not ABSOLUTELY applicable, even to your so-called "scientific" heaven. Take me through reason by reason.
@Dom0nePhilosophy I’m not asserting that heaven is scientifically based, but rather there are many of us who are not afraid to ask why and will not cling to ideas that are disproven. That being said, every one of your points are strawmen except to the most fundie of believers. 1. I don’t believe being of another religion is an automatic disqualifier for heaven. (cont.)
@tolkien1138 "and will not cling to ideas that are disproven". Which ideas about heaven have been proven/disproven?
"I don’t believe being of another religion is an automatic disqualifier for heaven". The god of the bible does ie his jealous nature etc, what you believe is irrelevant.
"I don’t believe hell is designed to be torturous". Ditto, why is your belief/interpretation important? You're picking and choosing from the bible.
"3-5 takes heaven to literally be a place". Nope, a literal state.
@Dom0nePhilosophy "Which ideas about heaven have been proven/disproven?" None, which is why it remains perfectly reasonable as a belief.
The beliefs of Christians are essential to a critique of Christian beliefs, no? It’s a waste of time to debate with air. Everyone’s reading of the Bible is his own interpretation, including yours. My interpretation is the Catholic interpretation which is likely to be the majority one, thus it might be worth your while to address it with more than a "nuh-uh!"
@tolkien1138 1) You said you "will not cling to ideas that are disproven". Now you're saying no ideas have been disproven? :D 2) I believe elvis is still alive, and is an alien, and he created the internet, and his left foot is made of cheese. It hasn't been disproven..so its reasonable? Right? Ridiculous 3) The majority belief equals the correct belief? 4) Was the ascension literal. How do you know? 5) Please attempt to defend the 10 reasons 6) "Nuh-huh"? Funny. I was raised a catholic
@Dom0nePhilosophy 1) I said heaven has not been disproven. If you would like to disprove heaven to me, I will listen. 2) Yes it is ridiculous, but not because you put ridiculous at the end. There are reasons why it is ridiculous, and discussing those reasons will convince rational people it is unreasonable. 3) The numbers matter to my point you are making a strawman. You haven't discussed Christian heaven and hell if that is not what Christians believe. (cont.)
@tolkien1138 1) No you didn't! To repeat, you said "...and will not cling to ideas that are disproven". Which ideas have been disproven?! 2) Why? Explain? You just don't have faith, thats your problem. We definitely know Elvis existed, there is greater doubt concerning Jesus (particularly his supernatural clams). 3/5) Do you know what a strawman is? 4) That makes no sense. I'll repeat, how do you KNOW it happened? Trust or hope 6) A valid "argument" should be independent of my experience.
@Dom0nePhilosophy 1) Wait, is your problem with the concept that ANY idea has been disproven??? LOL. You can disprove an idea by contradiction, evidence of absence, positive evidence toward an alternative, etc. An example of something disproven would be special creation (Creationism). 2) With Elvis, there are plenty of video tapes, coroners' reports, etc. that have been examined by many without anything out of the ordinary being found. (cont.)
@tolkien1138 1) "Problem"? What? I don't get it. So we know Jesus didn't walk on water because its impossible? Disproved! :D well unless Jesus' feet could displace 70kg of water. There's also quite a lot of supporting evidence against the proposition ie everything ever seen/tested/measured. Will you believe anything? 2) The premise of my statement starts with a certainty ie Elvis existed. Are you honestly comparing the existence of a supernatural prophet/"embodied god" to Shakespeare/Elvis? :D
@Dom0nePhilosophy 1) Just wasn't sure what you meant by the question. That is a good point in that walking on water is so improbable it might as well be considered to not happen. It is more difficult to pin down that it never has, though. Don't know. It would be easier to determine if Jesus ever walked on water if we had a time machine or it happened more recently. Kind of an interesting psychology that whether or not Jesus literally walked on water is the most important question of the Bible :D
@tolkien1138 1) "It is more difficult to pin down that it never has, though". Not unless you include every piece of science, evidence, common sense, your OWN experience, or any piece of information EVER gathered. 2 options:1) he is the only person EVER to break the laws of physics, or 2) its a story/lie/delusion. There is a human precedent for stories/lies/delusion. Both are ummmmm "equally" compelling? Did you know David Blaine can levitate? I've seen it. Do you believe he can levitate?
@Dom0nePhilosophy "Are you honestly comparing the existence of a supernatural prophet/"embodied god" to Shakespeare/Elvis?" In that many atheist scholars are willing to concede the existence of a man named Jesus that inspired these stories about him, yes. (cont.)
@tolkien1138 "In that many atheist scholars are willing to concede..." so you are depending on "many scholars conceding" as opposed to reading or watching anything directly attributable to him? Slightly different. Muhammad certainly existed which proves that he was a prophet and that the koran is true. Interesting. For the record I probably believe there was a character called jesus, who like david koresh et al had people credulously follow him, and proudly illustrate their naivety.
@Dom0nePhilosophy Unfortunately I know how David Blaine does it; I'm still not sure what happened at Galilee. Dr. Kreeft's opinion takes in the entirety of the Bible, such as "God is Love", rather than cherry-picking certain parts as you do. We also don't have to only rely on the Bible; It's OK to use our God-given intellect to make sense of it and find corollaries to it. You sound more like a Protestant. The Church made the Bible not the other way around, so I'll go with the Catechism's take.
@tolkien1138 Yeah I was also told about the blasphemous LIE that he in fact just tiptoes on one foot. HERESY! Cynicism does not serve you. He clearly levitates. I just wish non-believers would be tortured for incorrectly believing something wrong (even though beliefs aren't chosen, but are arrived at).
God is love? Where is the love part? Dieing for our sins? :D Watch "144 facts about god". God killed all life on the planet (well, excluding fish), he endorses slavery, rape of virgins etc etc.
@Dom0nePhilosophy NO ONE goes to hell for simply believing incorrectly. PLEASE Google CCC 1260! IF (note the if) you start with the premise that the Bible is true, then you must take the whole thing as a comprehensive whole. Thus Matt 13:42 "wailing and gnashing of teeth" and 1 John 4:8 "God is Love". That God is Love Itself rather than just having benevolence is an important theological concept in Christianity.
@tolkien1138 "NO ONE goes to hell for simply believing incorrectly". So why does god say differently in his book ie 2:27 of the video. Also I think the christian god is a reprehensible character, I'm not sure how separation from him would be a punishment.
RE God is love. If a blackmailing, psychopathic, jealous, murderer calls himself kind and nice, its perhaps more appropriate to look at his actions rather than his self-interested, manipulative and egotistical statements.
@Dom0nePhilosophy It is possible to recognize the truth but refuse to acknowledge it, or one could just not care what the truth is. In such cases people make a conscious choice not to believe. Honestly pursuing truth and being wrong is not a choice. Love =/= kind and nice. That's at least part of the error. The other is being so hyper-literal as to worry about e.g. the animals not on the ark who drowned and completely miss the message of the story. It is the natural state of Man to love God ...
@tolkien1138 If something is recognised, by definition its acknowledged. Anything further is simply the FOOLing of oneself. There are many reasons why humans wish to fool themselves (pretty much everything religion offers).
"and completely miss the message of the story". I've got NO PROBLEM with the bible/koran or Alice in Wonderland as a story! However people actually believe in noah's ark, loaves &fish, the ascension etc. And kill people because of it. How else should I check for veracity?
@Dom0nePhilosophy *I* don't have a theory on the first human, but evolutionary theory states that organisms are descended from a common ancestor, while the religious view is found in CCC 390. The two are compatible, and must be as "methodical research in all branches of knowledge, provided it is carried out in a truly scientific manner and does not override moral laws, can never conflict with the faith, because the things of the world and the things of faith derive from the same God." CCC 159
@tolkien1138 The two ARE NOT COMPATIBLE! I have the impression that you believe humanities common ancestor is one man (and a woman). This is absurd. The evolutionary tree has many many many branches that spread a spectrum and ARE NOT discrete, as I fear you believe (and is illustrated by Genesis). If you want to find an ancestor, you should be looking for billions of unicellular organisms, as opposed to one man with the honour of being the first human :D
@Dom0nePhilosophy@Dom0nePhilosophy The only way to hate God is to either 1. prefer hatred and falsehood or 2. don't understand Who God is. I tend to assume the latter.
There is a common ancestry MUCH earlier than unicelluar organisms. Everyone today is related to a man who lived about 60,000 years ago just as one example. It’s not the same as the population being exactly 2, but you can see how by the dawn of civilization everyone on earth already owed their existence to a single individual.
@tolkien1138 "It is the natural state of Man to love God". Expand?
The only way to love God is to either 1. accept hope over evidence (incl. ignoring the bits you dont like in the bible) or 2. a desperate desire to make life more than is actually witnessed, by following childish stories that in 99% of cases are simply passed onto you by your family/immediate environment.
Just 60,000 years ago? Ha ha ;D So complex multicellular organisms existed before unicellular organisms? This is embarrassing!
@Dom0nePhilosophy "Why did god say in his book that teeth gnash and skin burns, is that what happens when you separate from him?" In a word, yes. Dr. Peter Kreeft writes (and I would recommend his whole essay on hell) "In fact, heaven and hell may be the very same objective place—namely God's love, experienced oppositely by opposite souls, just as the same opera or rock concert can be heavenly for you and hellish for the reluctant guest at your side. (cont.)
@tolkien1138 Ohhh Peter Kreeft said that, I'm convinced. I've never heard of him but I'm assuming he must also be a supernatural deity that has communicated directly with god himself. If he's just a fallible man that is simply stating his opinion, thats a pathetically poor argument. My opinion is that the bible says hell is a literal place of torture, because it does.
You'll be benefited by watching two of my other videos 1) "9 reasons why you're a christian". 2) "I KNOW god exists". Enjoy
@Dom0nePhilosophy The fires of hell maybe made of the very love of God, experienced as torture by those who hate him: the very light of God's truth, hated and fled from in vain by those who love darkness." And "Adam and Eve" must have existed at some point or none of us would be here; even evolutionary theory states thus. 4) I don't think ANY holy book is "fraudulent" as each contains some elements of truth. I invite you to look into how doctrine is developed.
@tolkien1138 "The fires of hell maybe made of the very love of God". Where does it make that connection in the bible? Your quote is a desperate stretch, I can give you another 20 of literal sadistic savagery. Are you simply ad-libbing to make the bible fit your own fallible views? Whats wrong with a sadistic, genocidal, slavery supporting, flawed god?
"And "Adam and Eve" must have existed at some point".Please tell me you're not this stupid?
@Dom0nePhilosophy There have not always been humans, but there are humans now, therefore someone has the honor of being the first human. Not that difficult. I still stand by my statement that the scriptures of all religions aren't wholly inaccurate, let alone deceitful, and therefore not fraudulent. Your other videos are more fair for the most part in identifying what can and can't be known with certainty, which I can respect. I don't know what happened in this one.
@tolkien1138 No offense, but.....you really are stupid or at best EXCEPTIONALLY ignorant. "someone has the honor of being the first human". Are you for real? :D I wonder who it was? I think I've perhaps wasted my time. Let me guess, you didn't get on too well with science at school. Talk me through your theories about this human.
Give me £100,000 or the earth will explode. The earth exists, money exists, I exist, so I'm not being fraudulent. Ridiculous! Read the def of fraudulent!?
@Dom0nePhilosophy As far as Jesus is concerned, there's as much evidence for him as Shakespeare writing Shakespeare, and I don't see a need for baseless historical revisionism in either case. 3,5,6) You attack a position X while I say position Y instead. You then say "No. Defend X" when it's my intention to defend Y, not X. How is that anything but a strawman? It may be an unintentional strawman. Look up 1261, 1024, 1035 in the Catechism. (cont.)
@tolkien1138 "...while I say position Y instead".Are you aware i didn't make this video for you? Solely on this, your accusation is redundant. Notwithstanding this, as we both know there are as many interpretations of god's "truth" as there are people. I personally believe in adam & eve, because god said he made them. If I doubt that, I should doubt the whole book. Evidence is fallible. Why did god say in his book that teeth gnash and skin burns, is that what happens when you separate from him?
@Dom0nePhilosophy 4) I don't recall using the words "I know". The Church has a rigorous procedure in determining its doctrines. I don't think I could fit a discussion of the Ordinary Magisterium into a comments box, however lol. Ultimately I suppose it does rely on trust, as does everything else in life, down to whether to trust your own senses. According to Aristotle, intelligence, character, and goodwill are what makes a person trustworthy.
@tolkien1138 4) I don't recall using the words "I know". So you believe its POSSIBLE that the bible is as fraudulent as every other religious book ever written? Why don't you "trust" in Nirvana or reincarnation?
"The Church has a rigorous procedure in determining its doctrines". Absolutely no comment :D The church has always been a bastion of virtue.
Yep, trusting that Jesus is a supernatural God born of a virgin, is identical to trusting that a tree or a car or a chair exists. Scary!!!
@Dom0nePhilosophy 4) As a former Catholic, you should know the answer to this (hint: it's not "because it's in the Bible") 5) Why should I attempt to defend a strawman? 6) Catechesis has been a problem in the Catholic Church for a while now. Have you ever read the Catechism?
2. I don’t believe hell is designed to be torturous, but simply is so as the natural consequence of being separated from God, which is precisely what those in hell wanted for themselves—separation from God. 3-5 takes heaven to literally be a place with the same things going on over and over forever, whereas Christians take heaven to be a singular state of being where we experience Joy Itself, rather than the mere reflection of joy as seen in earthly things.
@GeeHadForDummies 1) I don't see how a rambled statement regarding Richard Dawkins, birds falling from the sky and freewill is analogous to anything I've said. If you are able to, please explain your analogy and present me with a the specifics of the comparison you're making ie specifically where have I been illogical 2) "Questions"? They're reasons! Why do insist on being ignorant. 3) No 2-4 are parameters set by the God and the bible, not me. Presumably you follow the bible?
@GeeHadForDummies 1) They're not questions 2) The bible and most other religious books state that information should be passed to people that don't have it. ie Its your duty to rationally explain your view of perceived errors in the 10 reasons. 3) "would anyone know what God knew when". That makes no sense. 4) "Your are the typical loser Atheist". Thou shall NOT judge! Besides you've got NO clue whether I'm an atheist! 5) "If Dawkins knew..birds...fall...freewill". What????? IDIOT!!!!!
@father042 1) Not according to the bible, (as quoted). 2) I don't believe the christian god exists. If he did, he is worthy of hate. 3) SP or ALOB or JSTO? Subjectivity is irrelevant to god, right? Whats your theological point? 4) Good argument. Expand please :D 5) So there are problems in heaven? Sounds utopic doesn't it?
RE your last comment. Jesus said, "thou shalt not judge...", and "treat thy neighbour...", why do you aggressively oppose the teachings of Jesus'?
@father042 I find its ABSOLUTELY STUPID that you believe in something that is logically impossible and pathetically dualistic, based purely on a random book that was written by men you've never met....and is a ridiculously credulous concept that has been used and regurgitated by every single belief structure for obvious ends!
Maybe if you spoke to Ganesh, you'd change your mind about christianity. You idiot!
this is the most stupidest thing i have ever seen ok sure if you want to go to hell go right ahead what you are doing is leading peoplet o hell god does not send any one to hell we haev the choice to go there if you want to reject his free gift of salvation because you think it is too good to be true or a fairy tale so you want to be able to do what you want and then mock God and go to heaven ha thing=k again god is mercifull and JUST!!!! he made ti pretty clear accept his gift or reject it!!!!
@kittycuddler1 If god is all-knowing, he knew even before the creation of existence who would go to heaven, and who would go to hell. Either option would be inescapable and inevitable. If he's all-powerful, that would mean he deliberately created this erroneous notion. Right?
Question: Does god already know who will go to hell, (even people that haven't been born yet)? Y/N. Can these people prove god wrong? Y/N
...And you've avoided addressing any of the concerns raised by the video :D
@Dom0nePhilosophy Though I DON`T quite agree with ALL of Your Points , you express Your OWN Views INSTEAD OF going with The Herd and I respect that :
Though I was raised Catholic and have been An Atheist , I NOW consider myself Unitarian ! That is , I take Beliefs from Various Religions including Christian Gnosticism , Buddhism , Taoism , Jainism , Moderate Judaism , Neo-Paganism and New Age Philosophy WITHOUT The Repressive , Hypocritical Dogma of Mainstream Religion !
@Dom0nePhilosophy Keep in mind The Bible , The Modern Conception of God , Satan , Jesus , Heaven and Hell ARE ALL Human Inventions ! Three Words The Human Ego( which Mainstream Religion personifies and villifies as " Satan " which means " Adversary " or " Accuser " which is RATHER Ironic as The Church is PRACTICALLY A CELEBRATION OF EGO ) MOST Fears to say are : " I don`t know " . Man HAS ALWAYS BEEN UNCONTRALLABLY , IRRATIONALLY AFRAID OF THE UNKNOWN !
@Dom0nePhilosophy I DO NOT believe in The Supernatural ! The Supernatural is NOTHING MORE THAN Superstitious Humans TRYING TO EXPLAIN THE UNEXPLAINABLE ! However , I DO believe in Things BEYOND NORMAL Human Logic ! For instance , there ARE NO Walking Corpses going around stalking People for Blood ! However , there HAVE BEEN Human Beings PATHOLOGICALLY Driven to feed on The Blood and/or Energy of Others like The Folkloric Vampires ! Some EVEN sharpen Their Teeth into points OR wear Plastic Fangs
I'd rather walk straight into Hell with my head held high than spend eternity kissing the ass of your sadist in the sky. I have too much self-respect.
um so you dont want to go to a place in which the Bible describes as eternal joy beyond our imagination with a perfect world without sin? have fun in hell (eternal torment, absencce of God)
@TheBigPoppaChoppa For the reasons stated in the video, the concept of heaven/hell epitomises a pathetically dualistic, and sadistically cruel manipulation... And lets not forget that its an impossibly flawed concept.
And lets also not forget that god also knows (even before the creation of existence) whether you or I will inevitably go to heaven or not. He's all knowing right.
Perhaps you should consider that the bible is inaccurate and that its lying to you. Give it a go :D
Actually the interesting part is the Bible is very descriptive about Heaven. It describes its exact dimensions and the materials out of which it is made, references structures pertaining to the 12 tribes of israel, and that light is always shining. Basically it sounds like jeurasalam's archeitect after a few drinks.
You have pondered questions that I have thought of, if you think about it if there was no God I would turn a new leaf, I would torture all of you to death cause I hate you all with a passion, naturally. I don't care where I go in the end; I can honestly say I love God, it took years to feel that way and now I am his servant forever. I personally hate the people you posted that you feel sorry for, I am appualed that the best boxer in the world is an idiot. I am determined to kill all your dreams.
I feel sorry for you my friend, you are angry, you do not seem to understand our Lord and that is okay! I still love you and I will pray that you are guided to the right person who can help you understand us better and perhaps you might find peace and come home. I can not save you nor anyone else on this planet only you can save you. God Bless and have a wonderful day! 'For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God' Ephesians 2:8-9
@2ravenf0x2 Are you aware that despite clear teachings in the bible explaining that it is your duty to spread god's word and pass on his message etc, you have done absolutely NOTHING to follow god's wishes. Also you've ignored god's teachings to "NOT JUDGE" :D
If you think the logic I've used in this video is in error, all you have to do is explain why. Very simple! Please start with reason 1.
My friend, you'll very quickly realise that your beliefs are catastrophically flawed. Good luck!
@Dom0nePhilosophy I didn't judge you my friend I feel sorry for you honestly. You seem angry and I want to know what has caused this anger. You are right that we as Christians are suppose to preach/teach the good book to others and yes there is hope and salvation in God's word. But, I have learned those who are not open to it or those who have been mislead, if I push with it you will walk away. No one likes to be forced into anything and I am not lying one bit or even judging when I say
@2ravenf0x2 I'm not sure how you've confidently judged me as being angry based on this video. A video that that simply cites objective flaws, paradoxes and overwhelming inadequacies in the concept of heaven and the christian god. I'm not sure how you believe someone can be angry towards something that is clearly impossible.
I wonder if you completed both parts of the video before labelling me? You'll like the humour in part 2. Rashly and falsely calling someone "angry" is insulting.
@Dom0nePhilosophy that only by God's grace can you be saved I can't actually save you many Christians don't get that in the end you have to ask God truly ask him to be saved. Our job as Christians is to set a good example be that beacon in the dark for you to come back home. Again no disrespect and I will private message you on video errors. Have a wonderful day
@2ravenf0x2 "that only by God's grace can you be saved", not really. If the reasons I don't accept Christianity are presented in this video, if you simply debunk the reasons and tell me why in your own words that I'm in error, then your intervention could very well be sufficient.
With the greatest respect to you, you appear exceptionally arrogant ie you're 100% right, anybody that disagrees is wrong. you appear not to be aware of your own fallibility. Luckily the whole world isnt like that.
@Dom0nePhilosophy you have judged me wrong but I see that you are not really interested in listening to me but I will keep trying to at least be heard by you a little. I am not 100% right as a matter of fact I am usually 80% wrong on many subjects I am not going to try to hide that. I am not young anymore so I don't have the human condition 'I'm right your wrong and if you do not believe me you are an idiot!!' I will admit that I am wrong if I am.
@2ravenf0x2 Specifically how have my judgements of your behaviour been inaccurate? Specifically what have I not listened to? I believe you are confusing "not listening", with disagreeing. Just because you say you haven't judged me, doesn't make it so I'm afraid. God will know this. You HAVE made several strong judgements of me.
RE 100%. Like Sikhs, and hindhu's etc etc , you can't conceive of your faith being wrong, despite man's fallibility. 100% certainty is flawed, arrogant and ignorant.
@2ravenf0x2 (cont) "I will admit that I am wrong if I am". Please tell me you see why this comment is exceptionally flawed. People can be massively wrong, but still believe they are right? Despite evidence.
Besides this, to the best of my knowledge, you are still yet to cite an reason why the reasons i have presented in this video are inaccurate. You could be the difference between me being sentenced by god to eternal brutal and horrific sadism or not. Please try, unless it's not important.
@Dom0nePhilosophy okay lets correct what I have said if a person comes to me with a good amount of proof that I am wrong I am willing to say I'm wrong and leave it. You are being hypocritical because wouldn't that be saying that you yourself will not admit you are wrong if you are even if you say I will admit being wrong? Just a question! As far as the video my friend may I ask you be patient for me. I do not what to throw too much of my life at you but like most people I can not sit on the
@2ravenf0x2 What proof would be needed for you to concede that Christianity is merely the creation of people that wrote a book a couple of millenia ago? What proof would you show to a muslim to prove them wrong?
"you yourself will not admit you are wrong", I don't follow your logic? When did I say or infer anything of the sort? If you are 100% confident that your beliefs are accurate, that means anybody that disagrees with you is definitely wrong, and worthy of an erroneous pity.
@2ravenf0x2 My friend, I trust you will answer all the questions I have presented to you in the previous comments also. There are many that have gone by the way side. ie "Specifically how have my judgements of your behaviour been inaccurate"?
Please note:
I feel sorry for you my friend, you are desperately credulous.
they say gods main ajective on earth wus to make sure no 1 beleaves in him and once you dont beleave he exist then your thinking god doesnt exist the you take science and everything in life that would make sence.here is a question for ya god is biology!!
@libetta That comment makes absolutely no sense. The concepts of both heaven and hell are impossible! However if indeed hell is the complete antithesis of heaven, then hell would be infinitely more preferable!
Simply make your arguments as to why the reasons I gave are in error. Start with reason 1, then work your way through. Good luck :D I bet you don't get very far.
@libetta Did you see that video entitled "10 Reasons Why I'd Hate to go to Heaven", it stated 10 reasons why i'd hate to go to heaven. If hell is the antithesis of heaven, hell would not include these reasons, and would in fact embody the opposite. Get it?
Now its your turn. I repeat for the last time. Simply make your arguments as to why the reasons I gave are in error. Start with reason 1, then work your way through. Good luck :D It should be easy for you to do, shouldn't it?
@libetta I know the bible says that. You are aware that the bible is made-up aren't you? Just like all the other religions.
If heaven is "eternal joy", explain why my reasons are wrong! Surely it's an important prerequisite for you to help people understand Jesus' love. Help me understand. Reason 1 please? I can't believe you're struggling with the first reason :D C'mon! Or do you agree with the reasons?
because you are all stubborn not to believe. what's wrong with believing? it's very easy to say there's no evidence. evidence can trick you. criminals have put the supposed weapons in clothes or drawers of the victim, making the police or judge agree that it is the other way around.
@libetta "what's wrong with believing?" Because the concept is IMPOSSIBLE, not because there is no evidence! There is no evidence for an infinite number of things!
The fact that you can't present an argument speaks volumes for your case. Can you answer the reasons or not, I'm getting bored.
Why don't you believe in reincarnation instead? Or what about nirvana. At least those concepts aren't clearly impossible, contrived and ridiculously dualistic.
you don't even know what's evidence for God. all atheists ever say is EMPIRICAL evidence. what is this empirical evidence?! the most absurd answer i got from an atheist so far is that he would believe if he saw a chalk magically write on the board by itself saying "i am god". see how crazy.
@libetta Did you read my comment. Its nothing to do with lack of evidence. The concept is simply IMPOSSIBLE! For the last time, answer the reasons?! If you can't stop wasting my time. You're boring me!
Because the concept is IMPOSSIBLE, not because there is no evidence! There is no evidence for an infinite number of things!- this is evidence that it has to do with "lack of evidence", as you say but deny.
@libetta Its something called logic. The concept is illogical. ILLOGICAL!! If you believe I'm wrong state why. While you're thinking, can you read what I put in the info panel. Its for people just like you.
before it was illogical to think of the earth's shape other than being flat. not being sarcastic here, but what does science say that made the earth's shape, round?

wen did I ever say I "follow his techniques" ?
lindsey842 5 months ago
@lindsey842 You really are dumb. Why have you used quotation marks then proceeded to make up your own quotation. When did I say (in quotes) "follow his techniques"? "Techniques" where did that come from.
However I was making the point that invariably if you call yourself a christian, its generally a rule that you believe the bible is true, and also that you live by what jesus taught. Have you heard of jesus?
Are you now saying that you DON'T follow Jesus' teachings? What about Ganesh?
Dom0nePhilosophy 5 months ago
yeh and you do?
lindsey842 5 months ago
yes and you do???
lindsey842 5 months ago
@lindsey842 There's a MASSIVE difference. I don't state that I follow divine teachings from god, YOU DO! That is why you're a hypocrite and I'm not. Besides I have been nothing but civil to you, I've simply been a mirror to your own immorality, prejudices and ignorance. An eye for an eye....
Dom0nePhilosophy 5 months ago
yeh but I cud careless of what u think of me cus I don't even kno you -.-
lindsey842 5 months ago
@lindsey842 Are you aware that Jesus taught, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Do you understand this? He said treat EVERYBODY with respect and empathy, not just people you know. You're a pathetic Christian and morally inept!! And please remember its not me that is judging your unchristian behaviour, its GOD! You don't even follow god's teachings!
Dom0nePhilosophy 5 months ago
well i don't know wat to tell you man we won't kno wat happens till we actually die....
lindsey842 5 months ago
@lindsey842 So why are you saying you know what happens? You have made several statements of certainty, based entirely on the fact that your family told you to believe in christianity. If your family were Hindu's you'd believe in reincarnation, likewise Buddhism and nirvana. Pathetic!
And still no apology? Despite the fact that god has witnessed your ungodly actions, and has the power to send you to hell. And you've had the audacity to call me dumb. You're joke.
Dom0nePhilosophy 5 months ago
in reason 4 u said u can never die well in heaven you wudnt even kno wat dieing is or death or pain...
lindsey842 5 months ago
@lindsey842 You missed out the first three reasons...and subsequent six.
RE Death. Yes, that was the point I was making, death is integral to who we are and to our appreciation of existence, without the concept, we would be impossibly divorced from who we are.
"you wudnt even kno wat dieing is or death or pain"
Incorrect, 1) its possible to be banished from heaven. 2) pleasure only exists as a comparison of pain. 3) Your beliefs are without foundation!
Still no apology, god is judging you!

thats my point you never said u were a christian and really anyother christian wud love to go to heaven and no I don't think that I'm "allowed" to judge ppl. What are sum of the questions I didn't answer? one more thing you didn't answer my questions too smart one
lindsey842 5 months ago
@lindsey842 If you're aware that you're not allowed to judge people, and presumably you also believe that people shouldn't be insulted etc (as prescribed by your god), why have you not apologised to me for acting contrary to god and jesus? Hypocrisy perhaps?
The concept of heaven is impossible, flawed and pathetically dualistic.
Q What part of my comment was unfair or erroneous?
Also, please point out the logical errors you believe are in the video. Start with reason 1. Good luck :D
Dom0nePhilosophy 5 months ago
also ur obviously not Christian and yet you act like you kno everything about it like most atheists
lindsey842 5 months ago
@lindsey842 1) "obviously" Ha ha ha congratulations :D When did I state that I was a christian? A video admonishing the concept of heaven/hell was quite a clue. 2) I suspect strongly that I know SIGNIFICANTLY more about christianity than you. 3) Why haven't you responded to any questions or even presented a case in opposition. 4) As a christian are you suggesting that you are allowed to judge others, and that you are allowed to level prejudicial insults at people?
Dom0nePhilosophy 5 months ago
@lindsey842 Actually, a majority of agnostics and atheists know more about religion than religious people do, because most were raised religious. Look it up if you don't believe me, there have been numerous studies done on it.

lindsey842 5 months ago
@lindsey842 1) "dumbass"? That's not a very christian approach is it? Thou shall not judge. 2) No you've perfectly met any expectations I may have had of you. 3) "don't pick on me"? Explain. I have simply responded to a comment. What part of my comment was unfair or erroneous? 4) Yep you've been raised as a christian, that's why you believe it, if you'd been raised as a Hindu you'd believe that. Not a great basis for truth is it. 5) No

I love god and the only reason I clickd on this video was to see how dumb it wud be -.- an I cudnt even watch the 2nd reason
lindsey842 5 months ago
@lindsey842 Ermmmm....good argument? (exceptionally prejudicial, judgemental and close-minded though). Perhaps you should watch something before deciding your response to it. I'm guessing that's not of great importance to you. I certainly believe it'll be a stretch for you to actually offer a reasoned critique?
Dom0nePhilosophy 5 months ago
If I were an atheist, I would admit that morality doesn’t exist concretely and are just arbitrary rules set by Man, which I am one of, so might make as the most noble goal in life to enslave the world and have them build a giant pyramid to myself as “Lord of All.” Now I realize that near all atheists are moral, upstanding people. I’m just saying that this doesn’t actually follow from their philosophy as it comes from an innate desire to do good.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 1) I didn't say atheist, I said all religions are wrong 2) Why would you believe enslaving the world would be beneficial, wise, or the best thing to do? Can you not conceive of the concept of empathy, or do you need help with your morality. 3) The bible and god promotes/justifies slavery, gods words were used to initiate and maintain the African slave trade. 4) Being nice because you want to be, is better than because you're being threatened or rewarded by a god. Do you agree?
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy “How does that fit with the bible saying that yahweh is the one true god?” There is a notion that the original belief was that there are other gods, but YHWH is superior to them. Also related is some Church Fathers who say they are demons. The other option is they are *inaccurate* attempts at describing the One True God. Obviously an inaccurate description taken as a whole is not true, but an attempt nonetheless.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 I love the basis of your belief in christianity and presumably everything you live by ie words such as, "notion", "assumption", "have to", etc etc and even more farcical is how you are unable to differentiate this abundant unsubstantiation with things that are certain (as certain as we are able to be of anything) ie things we can actually test or repeat etc etc etc etc and not things that simply make us happy.
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy “What are you talking about? And how does this answer anything?” To the claim that there are “identical claims in other religions.” Catholicism is unique in meeting my third criterion for belief “There must be a system in place to prevent the revelation from getting lost over time.” The Church’s dogmas have been consistent for the last 2,000 years.
I said “compatible” to be clear. What do you think Genesis 3 is about?
tolkien1138 6 months ago

1)OK. We need a belief in God to some degree in order to have morality, even if it is a laissez-faire Deist God who establishes a natural morality.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 1) "OK. We need a belief in God to some degree in order to have morality". Are you speaking on behalf of yourself or everybody in the world? Please discount me from anything you believe you are capable of deducing please!!!! I don't know how to break this to you, but you are well below the pinnacle of human thinking and logic.
2) "you might as well live it up in a totally megalomaniacal way". Why? To even pose this statement shows how morally inept aren't you?
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy . 2) I doubt the existence of non-physical entities like morality and empathy. Atomic particles don’t care what you do, so you might as well live it up in a totally megalomaniacal way. 3) Too long a topic to get into here, but see the wikipedia article “Catholic Church and Slavery,” which begins (cont.)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 Correction 2) *...shows how morally inept you are. 3) Wikipedia? Why don't you just read in the bible where god (who is infallible) says that owning and beating your slave is justified, instead of a internet document written by someone who I would be confident is fallible and has a VESTED INTEREST in justifying that god wasn't justifying slavery (perhaps a christian?). If I was a god i would have simply written, slavery is wrong. SIMPLE.
Bible = ultimate justification of anything!
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy “In 1965 the Second Vatican Council declared without qualification that slavery was an "infamy" that dishonored the Creator and was a poison in society. This declaration was the culmination of a long debate that began early in the history of the Church.” 4) “Nice” is irrelevant; I take you to mean loving/charitable? It would be preferable to do it out of love of God, but any “inferior” motive will suffice.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "It would be preferable to do it out of love of God". Which of these people are acting with greatest benevolence? They're are motivated to help an old person cross the road for eg.
A: Because they fear god will punish them if they don't
B: Because they understand the person might find it difficult/dangerous without assistance
C:They want god to see how kind they are so they get into heaven
D:They hope the woman will leave them money in her will
E: Because TV cameras filming them
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
Ironically I am an engineer by trade XD On the other hand, I have to question how well you did in English Lit. Imagery, theme, characterization, allegory, allusion, etc: these are the tools needed to read the Bible, not just reading comprehension. Definition of fraudulent (comparative more fraudulent, superlative most fraudulent) 1. dishonest; based on fraud or deception
2. false; phony. What about Buddhism is fraudulent?
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 English lit? Are you aware that the bible has been regurgitated and cropped and translated into english. English lit is irrelevant.
I'm fully aware of the characteristics needed to read the bible/koran and arrive at a credulous conclusion. Thats why all religion are dangerous. They can justify anything.
Yes at the very least 99% of religions are fraudulent.
Why did you choose christianity as opposed to shintoism? Why don't you accept shintoism?
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy You could use what you know from English lit. and apply it to the original Hebrew/Greek if you want (assuming you know Hebrew and Greek) :D I assume other religions are being honest even if they are incorrect. Why do you think they are acting fraudulently??
My criteria for belief is threefold: 1. It must be a revelatory religion, as there is no way to learn about God through natural reason alone. 2. It must be logically consistent. A four-sided triangle is always impossible.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 They follow different rules, hence "english lit" ie different languages. Besides "Sherlock Holmes" is grammatically perfect, it doesn't make the stories true.
"I assume other religions are being honest even if they are incorrect". Why? Are you really so simple to not see the benefits of making up religions. Re-watch "I KNOW god exists".
Because they are stating things as true that they know are false (unless ALL religious contributors were suffering from delusion - impossible)
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "criteria for belief/hope" 1) "there is no way to learn about God through natural reason". Correct! The only things that we are able to determine that exist ARE natural. If god exists, its IMPOSSIBLE for anybody to be sure. If you disagree, tell me the infallible, objective method.
2) "It must be logically consistent". And any logical inconsistencies you find, you simply state they shouldn't be taken literally etc :D
Apply these rules, and you can believe ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING!!!
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy I don’t know what grammar has to do with anything. I’m talking about literary analysis; these are universal. See how the Iliad can be enjoyed as a 21st century movie in English as a movie as much as an ancient Greek poem. Yes, it's true that something can be false and still be logically consistent, but the negation is false and does eliminate some things. Also whether a literal or figurative sense doesn’t change the logic of it any; real and pretend triangles still have 3 sides
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy This will throw you for a loop: I believe the Lord of the Rings contains nearly as much truth as the Bible. Yes I know it’s fictional. Can you understand what I mean by this?
Are you honestly so paranoid as to think much of the people on this planet are lying to you? Or does it make more sense that people actually believe what they say they do, for better or for worse?
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 This will throw you for a loop? Will it? Quite the opposite mr tolkien. There are NO differences between the two. A world of escapism from reality. A structuring of life into a childish characatures of good versus evil. FANTASY
We both agree that all non-christian religions present false gods/claims. The contributors to these religions obviously know this, therefore any claim to the contrary is deliberately fraudulent. Are you suggesting ALL contributors were deluded?
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy "A world of escapism from reality. A structuring of life into a childish characatures of good versus evil. FANTASY" So you DO have a problem with it, even as a story? :D
No I don't think it is obvious. To me they are already more true than false. There aren't that many religious founders to begin with. Many are about philosophy more than in visions and the like. I think the original authors knew they were writing mythology and would be shocked that people took them literally.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "So you DO have a problem with it, even as a story"? When did I say I had a problem with it? Good vs evil IS undoubtedly a childish caricature because its EXCEPTIONALLY naive and false. Hollywood films and religion are enticing (and enjoyable) because of this very virtue. Likewise fantasy is amazing, so long as people aren't gullible enough to believe it, or to need it to exist.
So spiderman is more true than false? NY exists, buildings exist, spiders exist. I worship spiderman.
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 cont) If the whole premise of a religion is stating that X is a god. If X is not a god, that religion is fraudulent and dangerous. Its irrelevant whether bits of it are true. If a conman asks for money to cure his mums cancer. The fact that cancer and money exist, does not make the premise more truthful than false. I can't believe you dont or dont want to understand these simple concepts.
There are MANY founders just within Xtianity, but I stated CONTRIBUTORS to ALL religions! MANY!
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy “It’s IMPOSSIBLE for anybody to be sure” Correct. But it’s not about being “sure.” I have to trust that the Apostles are correct in their teaching, but that’s the only assumption I have to make. (cont.)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien "I have to trust that the Apostles are correct in their teaching, but that’s the only assumption I have to make".1) Why do you HAVE to? 2) That's the only assumption you need to make! If everybody leaped to that baseless, credulous, blind, erroneous, naive, foundationless, contradictory, fantastical, desperate assumption, then EVERYBODY would be a christian.
The question is, is it valid to implicitly and blindly trust the fallible and unbelievable stories of these pre-darkage men?
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy "Why do you HAVE to?" I don't, as I stated later in the post. I do think everybody would become Christian if they actually studied it enough. Find some fatal flaws and get back to me.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 To repeat you said "I have to trust that the Apostles are correct in their teaching, but that’s the only assumption I have to make". So you don't HAVE to now...and you don't need to rely on an assumption anymore? :D This is funny. Unfortunately the burden of proof is on YOU (this is another premise you seem scarily unaware of). Tell me how you are able to establish that the disciples are accurate? Particularly in light of....(cont)
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 cont2) 1) identical claims in other religions, by other men you've never met, who didn't even exist at the time of jesus. 2) a lack of any corroborating evidence 3) claims that go against EVERYTHING that is understood of existence 4) words that have been manipulated.
You would need to satisfy these. Please just be honest and say that you NEED religion, and are too challenged to think for yourself...and it was the first religion you heard of, and your environment is christian.
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy Everything else follows objectively (as it becomes a matter of history rather than personal feelings for the Pope on down) and infallible (since one of the propositions from the Apostles is that Jesus founded the Church and gave to her the Holy Spirit, without which the meaning would become lost to personal interpretation over time). You could not make this assumption and be perfectly consistent, it just leads to a permanent state of unknowing.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "it just leads to a permanent state of unknowing". It always makes me EXCEPTIONALLY annoyed when people are distinctly and maliciously unable to differentiate between the doubt of supernatural claims made by people they have never met, as a counterpoint to the doubt that the chair in front of them exists. Its as CONTEMPTIBLE as believing that there was a first human, or that humans preceded unicellular organisms. Contemptible, laughable and desperate!
You simply NEED hope!

Now people who insist it's a ghost after the source has been found, those I have a problem with.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy
I DON'T think humans preceded unicelluar organisms!!! Are you going to hold a typo against me forever?? Google "most recent common ancestor (MRCA)"
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 Are you aware that lying is a sin? It wasn't a typo! Typos dont affect entire sentences and paragraphs and consecutive messages, they just affect "wurds".....do you see what I've done there :D
Question: If christianity and all religions were proved to be undeniably wrong, what would that mean for your life? What would you feel about life? Scared, excited, fascinated, suicidal, amazed, empty? What about your morality, you'd no longer know what was good or bad?
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy I actually thought there was a book called "Spiderman and Philosophy". Apparently it's in the works. But yes Spiderman is true "with great power comes great responsibility" and all.
You can also see it as everyone viewing the same God to various degrees of accuracy. Martin Luther formulated some ideas about God that he was committed to. The Buddha found answers to human suffering through meditation.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "You can also see it as everyone viewing the same God to various degrees of accuracy". How does that fit with the bible saying that yahweh is the one true god? Contradictory? So all gods thats have ever been created are real gods? How do you know which gods to include? Is Thor or Ra simply the god of the bible, but just viewed slightly inaccurately. Is the christian god simply a slightly inaccurate view of the true god ghanesh?
Logic is not your friend :D
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy These people need not be deluded nor fraudulent. Just as if someone honestly believes his grandmother’s tonic can cure cancer, he is not a con man by definition, as you can’t defraud by accident.
I don’t HAVE to if I want to be a Deist, which I thought I made clear when I said further down “You could not make this assumption and be perfectly consistent, it just leads to a permanent state of unknowing.”
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1 "Just as if someone honestly believes his grandmother’s tonic can cure cancer". I'm getting tired of pointing out OBVIOUS errors in your thinking. He someone says that they saw somebody walking on water, if indeed it didn't happen the person can only be deluded or fraudulent. Lets ignore that the person that wrote that had never met jesus, and was born after his death. Deluded or fraudulent?
"permanent state of unknowing". Try believing natural things, and doubt the supernatural. Easy
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy There is no religion that even claims to have a sustainable system like the Catholic Church. There is no authoritative body in Islam to state that Al Qaeda is wrong and the moderates are right, for example. The Catholicism experiment has been running for 2,000 years now and hasn’t gone off the rails yet.
OK, you have never said “left” when you meant “right”? Anyway, please admit that all humans share a common human ancestor.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 What are you talking about? And how does this answer anything?
"The Catholicism experiment has been running for 2,000 years now and hasn’t gone off the rails yet". Please tell me you're joking. If you believe that statement, you are fundamentally deluded, and i've wasted my time talking to someone that has lost grip with reality!
"please admit that all humans share a common human ancestor".
Your claim was parity between adam & eve and evolution. Both statements are inaccurate!!!
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy 3. There must be a system in place to prevent the revelation from getting lost over time, as there would be no point in giving this revelation just for it to get forgotten and misconstrued out of existence. I’m not a Shinto from 1 and I’m not a Muslim from 3. I could be a Deist instead.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy Sorry, should've said "later" or "more recently.”
(cont.)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "They see beauty in creation and ask what that speaks of its Creator". Not everybody! Processes create things. If you wish, argue that your god creates the processes. Your statement "all people" is demonstrably wrong!
Yes people kill because they follow the "true" supernatural, ascending god. If jesus didn't ascend but just died like everybody else, there would be no christianity to die or kill for.
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Dom0nePhilosophy OK, God creates and sustains the processes. Not a relevant difference. Can you find one example where someone doesn't implicitly do this? "If jesus didn't ascend but just died like everybody else, there would be no christianity to die or kill for." There would just be something else instead.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy it makes more sense that this is a part of human nature brought to religion rather than caused by it. Especially when one has to ignore key portions about not killing in order to do so. Also, the adherents of religions being total douchebags (with which I couldn’t agree more!) is irrelevant to the truth of that religion (essentially ad hominem).
tolkien1138 6 months ago
It is innate to every man’s nature to want to be with God, and the only ones who go to hell are those who have perverted their own natures to the point where God’s love becomes abhorrent to them. (part 2 of 2)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
OK, so you've established you disagree with Fundamentalist Christians who take the most shallow reading of the Bible and refuse to explore religion any deeper than "Because the Bible says so." But what about all those who pursue science and reason as a means to better knowing and serving God?
Heaven is eternal unity with God, while hell is eternal separation from God, as defined by the Catholic Catechism and probably most “mainstream” Christians. (part 1 of 2)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 Tell me about this "scientifically" justified heaven. Firstly tell me how you've established the concept of heaven scientifically. Science and reason suggests that we die and get eaten by maggots. Are you aware that you're just interpreting the bible like every other person. Verify the basis of your certainty please.
Secondly, how are the points stated in the video still not ABSOLUTELY applicable, even to your so-called "scientific" heaven. Take me through reason by reason.
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy I’m not asserting that heaven is scientifically based, but rather there are many of us who are not afraid to ask why and will not cling to ideas that are disproven. That being said, every one of your points are strawmen except to the most fundie of believers. 1. I don’t believe being of another religion is an automatic disqualifier for heaven. (cont.)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "and will not cling to ideas that are disproven". Which ideas about heaven have been proven/disproven?
"I don’t believe being of another religion is an automatic disqualifier for heaven". The god of the bible does ie his jealous nature etc, what you believe is irrelevant.
"I don’t believe hell is designed to be torturous". Ditto, why is your belief/interpretation important? You're picking and choosing from the bible.
"3-5 takes heaven to literally be a place". Nope, a literal state.
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy "Which ideas about heaven have been proven/disproven?" None, which is why it remains perfectly reasonable as a belief.
The beliefs of Christians are essential to a critique of Christian beliefs, no? It’s a waste of time to debate with air. Everyone’s reading of the Bible is his own interpretation, including yours. My interpretation is the Catholic interpretation which is likely to be the majority one, thus it might be worth your while to address it with more than a "nuh-uh!"
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 1) You said you "will not cling to ideas that are disproven". Now you're saying no ideas have been disproven? :D 2) I believe elvis is still alive, and is an alien, and he created the internet, and his left foot is made of cheese. It hasn't been disproven..so its reasonable? Right? Ridiculous 3) The majority belief equals the correct belief? 4) Was the ascension literal. How do you know? 5) Please attempt to defend the 10 reasons 6) "Nuh-huh"? Funny. I was raised a catholic
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy 1) I said heaven has not been disproven. If you would like to disprove heaven to me, I will listen. 2) Yes it is ridiculous, but not because you put ridiculous at the end. There are reasons why it is ridiculous, and discussing those reasons will convince rational people it is unreasonable. 3) The numbers matter to my point you are making a strawman. You haven't discussed Christian heaven and hell if that is not what Christians believe. (cont.)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 1) No you didn't! To repeat, you said "...and will not cling to ideas that are disproven". Which ideas have been disproven?! 2) Why? Explain? You just don't have faith, thats your problem. We definitely know Elvis existed, there is greater doubt concerning Jesus (particularly his supernatural clams). 3/5) Do you know what a strawman is? 4) That makes no sense. I'll repeat, how do you KNOW it happened? Trust or hope 6) A valid "argument" should be independent of my experience.
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy 1) Wait, is your problem with the concept that ANY idea has been disproven??? LOL. You can disprove an idea by contradiction, evidence of absence, positive evidence toward an alternative, etc. An example of something disproven would be special creation (Creationism). 2) With Elvis, there are plenty of video tapes, coroners' reports, etc. that have been examined by many without anything out of the ordinary being found. (cont.)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 1) "Problem"? What? I don't get it. So we know Jesus didn't walk on water because its impossible? Disproved! :D well unless Jesus' feet could displace 70kg of water. There's also quite a lot of supporting evidence against the proposition ie everything ever seen/tested/measured. Will you believe anything? 2) The premise of my statement starts with a certainty ie Elvis existed. Are you honestly comparing the existence of a supernatural prophet/"embodied god" to Shakespeare/Elvis? :D
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy 1) Just wasn't sure what you meant by the question. That is a good point in that walking on water is so improbable it might as well be considered to not happen. It is more difficult to pin down that it never has, though. Don't know. It would be easier to determine if Jesus ever walked on water if we had a time machine or it happened more recently. Kind of an interesting psychology that whether or not Jesus literally walked on water is the most important question of the Bible :D
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 1) "It is more difficult to pin down that it never has, though". Not unless you include every piece of science, evidence, common sense, your OWN experience, or any piece of information EVER gathered. 2 options:1) he is the only person EVER to break the laws of physics, or 2) its a story/lie/delusion. There is a human precedent for stories/lies/delusion. Both are ummmmm "equally" compelling? Did you know David Blaine can levitate? I've seen it. Do you believe he can levitate?
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy "Are you honestly comparing the existence of a supernatural prophet/"embodied god" to Shakespeare/Elvis?" In that many atheist scholars are willing to concede the existence of a man named Jesus that inspired these stories about him, yes. (cont.)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "In that many atheist scholars are willing to concede..." so you are depending on "many scholars conceding" as opposed to reading or watching anything directly attributable to him? Slightly different. Muhammad certainly existed which proves that he was a prophet and that the koran is true. Interesting. For the record I probably believe there was a character called jesus, who like david koresh et al had people credulously follow him, and proudly illustrate their naivety.
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy Unfortunately I know how David Blaine does it; I'm still not sure what happened at Galilee. Dr. Kreeft's opinion takes in the entirety of the Bible, such as "God is Love", rather than cherry-picking certain parts as you do. We also don't have to only rely on the Bible; It's OK to use our God-given intellect to make sense of it and find corollaries to it. You sound more like a Protestant. The Church made the Bible not the other way around, so I'll go with the Catechism's take.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 Yeah I was also told about the blasphemous LIE that he in fact just tiptoes on one foot. HERESY! Cynicism does not serve you. He clearly levitates. I just wish non-believers would be tortured for incorrectly believing something wrong (even though beliefs aren't chosen, but are arrived at).
God is love? Where is the love part? Dieing for our sins? :D Watch "144 facts about god". God killed all life on the planet (well, excluding fish), he endorses slavery, rape of virgins etc etc.
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy NO ONE goes to hell for simply believing incorrectly. PLEASE Google CCC 1260! IF (note the if) you start with the premise that the Bible is true, then you must take the whole thing as a comprehensive whole. Thus Matt 13:42 "wailing and gnashing of teeth" and 1 John 4:8 "God is Love". That God is Love Itself rather than just having benevolence is an important theological concept in Christianity.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "NO ONE goes to hell for simply believing incorrectly". So why does god say differently in his book ie 2:27 of the video. Also I think the christian god is a reprehensible character, I'm not sure how separation from him would be a punishment.
RE God is love. If a blackmailing, psychopathic, jealous, murderer calls himself kind and nice, its perhaps more appropriate to look at his actions rather than his self-interested, manipulative and egotistical statements.
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy It is possible to recognize the truth but refuse to acknowledge it, or one could just not care what the truth is. In such cases people make a conscious choice not to believe. Honestly pursuing truth and being wrong is not a choice. Love =/= kind and nice. That's at least part of the error. The other is being so hyper-literal as to worry about e.g. the animals not on the ark who drowned and completely miss the message of the story. It is the natural state of Man to love God ...
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 If something is recognised, by definition its acknowledged. Anything further is simply the FOOLing of oneself. There are many reasons why humans wish to fool themselves (pretty much everything religion offers).
"and completely miss the message of the story". I've got NO PROBLEM with the bible/koran or Alice in Wonderland as a story! However people actually believe in noah's ark, loaves &fish, the ascension etc. And kill people because of it. How else should I check for veracity?
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy *I* don't have a theory on the first human, but evolutionary theory states that organisms are descended from a common ancestor, while the religious view is found in CCC 390. The two are compatible, and must be as "methodical research in all branches of knowledge, provided it is carried out in a truly scientific manner and does not override moral laws, can never conflict with the faith, because the things of the world and the things of faith derive from the same God." CCC 159
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 The two ARE NOT COMPATIBLE! I have the impression that you believe humanities common ancestor is one man (and a woman). This is absurd. The evolutionary tree has many many many branches that spread a spectrum and ARE NOT discrete, as I fear you believe (and is illustrated by Genesis). If you want to find an ancestor, you should be looking for billions of unicellular organisms, as opposed to one man with the honour of being the first human :D
CCC 159 Use your OWN brain!!!!!!!!
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy @Dom0nePhilosophy The only way to hate God is to either 1. prefer hatred and falsehood or 2. don't understand Who God is. I tend to assume the latter.
There is a common ancestry MUCH earlier than unicelluar organisms. Everyone today is related to a man who lived about 60,000 years ago just as one example. It’s not the same as the population being exactly 2, but you can see how by the dawn of civilization everyone on earth already owed their existence to a single individual.
tolkien1138 6 months ago

(cont.)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 Ohhh Peter Kreeft said that, I'm convinced. I've never heard of him but I'm assuming he must also be a supernatural deity that has communicated directly with god himself. If he's just a fallible man that is simply stating his opinion, thats a pathetically poor argument. My opinion is that the bible says hell is a literal place of torture, because it does.
You'll be benefited by watching two of my other videos 1) "9 reasons why you're a christian". 2) "I KNOW god exists". Enjoy
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy The fires of hell maybe made of the very love of God, experienced as torture by those who hate him: the very light of God's truth, hated and fled from in vain by those who love darkness." And "Adam and Eve" must have existed at some point or none of us would be here; even evolutionary theory states thus. 4) I don't think ANY holy book is "fraudulent" as each contains some elements of truth. I invite you to look into how doctrine is developed.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "The fires of hell maybe made of the very love of God". Where does it make that connection in the bible? Your quote is a desperate stretch, I can give you another 20 of literal sadistic savagery. Are you simply ad-libbing to make the bible fit your own fallible views? Whats wrong with a sadistic, genocidal, slavery supporting, flawed god?
"And "Adam and Eve" must have existed at some point".Please tell me you're not this stupid?
Please read a definition of "fraudulent" :D OMG
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago

Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy As far as Jesus is concerned, there's as much evidence for him as Shakespeare writing Shakespeare, and I don't see a need for baseless historical revisionism in either case. 3,5,6) You attack a position X while I say position Y instead. You then say "No. Defend X" when it's my intention to defend Y, not X. How is that anything but a strawman? It may be an unintentional strawman. Look up 1261, 1024, 1035 in the Catechism. (cont.)
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 "...while I say position Y instead".Are you aware i didn't make this video for you? Solely on this, your accusation is redundant. Notwithstanding this, as we both know there are as many interpretations of god's "truth" as there are people. I personally believe in adam & eve, because god said he made them. If I doubt that, I should doubt the whole book. Evidence is fallible. Why did god say in his book that teeth gnash and skin burns, is that what happens when you separate from him?
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy 4) I don't recall using the words "I know". The Church has a rigorous procedure in determining its doctrines. I don't think I could fit a discussion of the Ordinary Magisterium into a comments box, however lol. Ultimately I suppose it does rely on trust, as does everything else in life, down to whether to trust your own senses. According to Aristotle, intelligence, character, and goodwill are what makes a person trustworthy.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@tolkien1138 4) I don't recall using the words "I know". So you believe its POSSIBLE that the bible is as fraudulent as every other religious book ever written? Why don't you "trust" in Nirvana or reincarnation?
"The Church has a rigorous procedure in determining its doctrines". Absolutely no comment :D The church has always been a bastion of virtue.
Yep, trusting that Jesus is a supernatural God born of a virgin, is identical to trusting that a tree or a car or a chair exists. Scary!!!
Dom0nePhilosophy 6 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy 4) As a former Catholic, you should know the answer to this (hint: it's not "because it's in the Bible") 5) Why should I attempt to defend a strawman? 6) Catechesis has been a problem in the Catholic Church for a while now. Have you ever read the Catechism?
tolkien1138 6 months ago
2. I don’t believe hell is designed to be torturous, but simply is so as the natural consequence of being separated from God, which is precisely what those in hell wanted for themselves—separation from God. 3-5 takes heaven to literally be a place with the same things going on over and over forever, whereas Christians take heaven to be a singular state of being where we experience Joy Itself, rather than the mere reflection of joy as seen in earthly things.
tolkien1138 6 months ago
@GeeHadForDummies 1) I don't see how a rambled statement regarding Richard Dawkins, birds falling from the sky and freewill is analogous to anything I've said. If you are able to, please explain your analogy and present me with a the specifics of the comparison you're making ie specifically where have I been illogical 2) "Questions"? They're reasons! Why do insist on being ignorant. 3) No 2-4 are parameters set by the God and the bible, not me. Presumably you follow the bible?
Dom0nePhilosophy 7 months ago

Dom0nePhilosophy 7 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy and plus, I find it absolutely stupid that you judge place that you've never even been to
maybe if you've been there you'd change your mind
father042 7 months ago
@father042 I find its ABSOLUTELY STUPID that you believe in something that is logically impossible and pathetically dualistic, based purely on a random book that was written by men you've never met....and is a ridiculously credulous concept that has been used and regurgitated by every single belief structure for obvious ends!
Maybe if you spoke to Ganesh, you'd change your mind about christianity. You idiot!
Dom0nePhilosophy 7 months ago
this is the most stupidest thing i have ever seen ok sure if you want to go to hell go right ahead what you are doing is leading peoplet o hell god does not send any one to hell we haev the choice to go there if you want to reject his free gift of salvation because you think it is too good to be true or a fairy tale so you want to be able to do what you want and then mock God and go to heaven ha thing=k again god is mercifull and JUST!!!! he made ti pretty clear accept his gift or reject it!!!!
kittycuddler1 8 months ago
@kittycuddler1 If god is all-knowing, he knew even before the creation of existence who would go to heaven, and who would go to hell. Either option would be inescapable and inevitable. If he's all-powerful, that would mean he deliberately created this erroneous notion. Right?
Question: Does god already know who will go to hell, (even people that haven't been born yet)? Y/N. Can these people prove god wrong? Y/N
...And you've avoided addressing any of the concerns raised by the video :D
Dom0nePhilosophy 8 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy Though I DON`T quite agree with ALL of Your Points , you express Your OWN Views INSTEAD OF going with The Herd and I respect that :
Though I was raised Catholic and have been An Atheist , I NOW consider myself Unitarian ! That is , I take Beliefs from Various Religions including Christian Gnosticism , Buddhism , Taoism , Jainism , Moderate Judaism , Neo-Paganism and New Age Philosophy WITHOUT The Repressive , Hypocritical Dogma of Mainstream Religion !
1993MovieMan 8 months ago
1993MovieMan 8 months ago

I have too much self-respect.
choongd 8 months ago
um so you dont want to go to a place in which the Bible describes as eternal joy beyond our imagination with a perfect world without sin? have fun in hell (eternal torment, absencce of God)
TheBigPoppaChoppa 8 months ago
@TheBigPoppaChoppa For the reasons stated in the video, the concept of heaven/hell epitomises a pathetically dualistic, and sadistically cruel manipulation... And lets not forget that its an impossibly flawed concept.
And lets also not forget that god also knows (even before the creation of existence) whether you or I will inevitably go to heaven or not. He's all knowing right.
Perhaps you should consider that the bible is inaccurate and that its lying to you. Give it a go :D
Dom0nePhilosophy 8 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy~
Im guessing u also believe that Christians believe in a "magic man" in the sky?
marek0086 8 months ago
@TheBigPoppaChoppa

Thanatos7129 9 months ago
I feel sorry for you my friend, you are angry, you do not seem to understand our Lord and that is okay! I still love you and I will pray that you are guided to the right person who can help you understand us better and perhaps you might find peace and come home. I can not save you nor anyone else on this planet only you can save you. God Bless and have a wonderful day! 'For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God' Ephesians 2:8-9
2ravenf0x2 10 months ago
@2ravenf0x2 Are you aware that despite clear teachings in the bible explaining that it is your duty to spread god's word and pass on his message etc, you have done absolutely NOTHING to follow god's wishes. Also you've ignored god's teachings to "NOT JUDGE" :D
If you think the logic I've used in this video is in error, all you have to do is explain why. Very simple! Please start with reason 1.
My friend, you'll very quickly realise that your beliefs are catastrophically flawed. Good luck!
Dom0nePhilosophy 10 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy I didn't judge you my friend I feel sorry for you honestly. You seem angry and I want to know what has caused this anger. You are right that we as Christians are suppose to preach/teach the good book to others and yes there is hope and salvation in God's word. But, I have learned those who are not open to it or those who have been mislead, if I push with it you will walk away. No one likes to be forced into anything and I am not lying one bit or even judging when I say
2ravenf0x2 10 months ago
@2ravenf0x2 I'm not sure how you've confidently judged me as being angry based on this video. A video that that simply cites objective flaws, paradoxes and overwhelming inadequacies in the concept of heaven and the christian god. I'm not sure how you believe someone can be angry towards something that is clearly impossible.
I wonder if you completed both parts of the video before labelling me? You'll like the humour in part 2. Rashly and falsely calling someone "angry" is insulting.
Dom0nePhilosophy 10 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy that only by God's grace can you be saved I can't actually save you many Christians don't get that in the end you have to ask God truly ask him to be saved. Our job as Christians is to set a good example be that beacon in the dark for you to come back home. Again no disrespect and I will private message you on video errors. Have a wonderful day
2ravenf0x2 10 months ago
@2ravenf0x2 "that only by God's grace can you be saved", not really. If the reasons I don't accept Christianity are presented in this video, if you simply debunk the reasons and tell me why in your own words that I'm in error, then your intervention could very well be sufficient.
With the greatest respect to you, you appear exceptionally arrogant ie you're 100% right, anybody that disagrees is wrong. you appear not to be aware of your own fallibility. Luckily the whole world isnt like that.
Dom0nePhilosophy 10 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy you have judged me wrong but I see that you are not really interested in listening to me but I will keep trying to at least be heard by you a little. I am not 100% right as a matter of fact I am usually 80% wrong on many subjects I am not going to try to hide that. I am not young anymore so I don't have the human condition 'I'm right your wrong and if you do not believe me you are an idiot!!' I will admit that I am wrong if I am.
2ravenf0x2 10 months ago
@2ravenf0x2 Specifically how have my judgements of your behaviour been inaccurate? Specifically what have I not listened to? I believe you are confusing "not listening", with disagreeing. Just because you say you haven't judged me, doesn't make it so I'm afraid. God will know this. You HAVE made several strong judgements of me.
RE 100%. Like Sikhs, and hindhu's etc etc , you can't conceive of your faith being wrong, despite man's fallibility. 100% certainty is flawed, arrogant and ignorant.
Dom0nePhilosophy 10 months ago
@2ravenf0x2 (cont) "I will admit that I am wrong if I am". Please tell me you see why this comment is exceptionally flawed. People can be massively wrong, but still believe they are right? Despite evidence.
Besides this, to the best of my knowledge, you are still yet to cite an reason why the reasons i have presented in this video are inaccurate. You could be the difference between me being sentenced by god to eternal brutal and horrific sadism or not. Please try, unless it's not important.
Dom0nePhilosophy 10 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy okay lets correct what I have said if a person comes to me with a good amount of proof that I am wrong I am willing to say I'm wrong and leave it. You are being hypocritical because wouldn't that be saying that you yourself will not admit you are wrong if you are even if you say I will admit being wrong? Just a question! As far as the video my friend may I ask you be patient for me. I do not what to throw too much of my life at you but like most people I can not sit on the
2ravenf0x2 10 months ago
@2ravenf0x2 What proof would be needed for you to concede that Christianity is merely the creation of people that wrote a book a couple of millenia ago? What proof would you show to a muslim to prove them wrong?
"you yourself will not admit you are wrong", I don't follow your logic? When did I say or infer anything of the sort? If you are 100% confident that your beliefs are accurate, that means anybody that disagrees with you is definitely wrong, and worthy of an erroneous pity.
Dom0nePhilosophy 10 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy computer all day I promise I will get to it. Thank you!
2ravenf0x2 10 months ago
@2ravenf0x2 My friend, I trust you will answer all the questions I have presented to you in the previous comments also. There are many that have gone by the way side. ie "Specifically how have my judgements of your behaviour been inaccurate"?
Please note:
I feel sorry for you my friend, you are desperately credulous.

i bet you won't make a video of reasons why you'd hate to go to hell. you just ridicule but can't stand up for what can be used against you
libetta 11 months ago
@libetta That comment makes absolutely no sense. The concepts of both heaven and hell are impossible! However if indeed hell is the complete antithesis of heaven, then hell would be infinitely more preferable!
Simply make your arguments as to why the reasons I gave are in error. Start with reason 1, then work your way through. Good luck :D I bet you don't get very far.
Dom0nePhilosophy 11 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy
you're sick man. hell infinitely more preferable? sick twisted. can you support your absurd claim?
libetta 11 months ago
@libetta Did you see that video entitled "10 Reasons Why I'd Hate to go to Heaven", it stated 10 reasons why i'd hate to go to heaven. If hell is the antithesis of heaven, hell would not include these reasons, and would in fact embody the opposite. Get it?
Now its your turn. I repeat for the last time. Simply make your arguments as to why the reasons I gave are in error. Start with reason 1, then work your way through. Good luck :D It should be easy for you to do, shouldn't it?
Dom0nePhilosophy 11 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy
stop acting oh-so-genius it says in the book that heaven is eternal joy and hell eternal fire.
libetta 11 months ago
@libetta I know the bible says that. You are aware that the bible is made-up aren't you? Just like all the other religions.
If heaven is "eternal joy", explain why my reasons are wrong! Surely it's an important prerequisite for you to help people understand Jesus' love. Help me understand. Reason 1 please? I can't believe you're struggling with the first reason :D C'mon! Or do you agree with the reasons?
Dom0nePhilosophy 11 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy
so is your view of heaven correct?
because you are all stubborn not to believe. what's wrong with believing? it's very easy to say there's no evidence. evidence can trick you. criminals have put the supposed weapons in clothes or drawers of the victim, making the police or judge agree that it is the other way around.
libetta 11 months ago
@libetta "what's wrong with believing?" Because the concept is IMPOSSIBLE, not because there is no evidence! There is no evidence for an infinite number of things!
The fact that you can't present an argument speaks volumes for your case. Can you answer the reasons or not, I'm getting bored.
Why don't you believe in reincarnation instead? Or what about nirvana. At least those concepts aren't clearly impossible, contrived and ridiculously dualistic.
Dom0nePhilosophy 11 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy
you don't even know what's evidence for God. all atheists ever say is EMPIRICAL evidence. what is this empirical evidence?! the most absurd answer i got from an atheist so far is that he would believe if he saw a chalk magically write on the board by itself saying "i am god". see how crazy.
libetta 11 months ago
@libetta Did you read my comment. Its nothing to do with lack of evidence. The concept is simply IMPOSSIBLE! For the last time, answer the reasons?! If you can't stop wasting my time. You're boring me!
Dom0nePhilosophy 11 months ago
@Dom0nePhilosophy
Because the concept is IMPOSSIBLE, not because there is no evidence! There is no evidence for an infinite number of things!- this is evidence that it has to do with "lack of evidence", as you say but deny.
libetta 11 months ago
@libetta Its something called logic. The concept is illogical. ILLOGICAL!! If you believe I'm wrong state why. While you're thinking, can you read what I put in the info panel. Its for people just like you.
Why not believe in reincarnation?
Dom0nePhilosophy 11 months ago
