  • The best western ever, with the greatest shoot out in cinema history

  • Sorry fellas, the best western ever made was Lonesome Dove.

And that's coming from a die-hard western fan. (seen em all.)

  • Why does it have to be a greatest western ever contest?

    What a stupid idea.....

Sam would laugh at you fools.....

it is a fine film done Sam's way.

It works well because of it telling the tale of people whose time was over........

Anyone who has aged a little can relate to that.

  • this movie is #80 in the AFI's list of greatest american movies of all time. I'm watching all the movies of the list online:

    blogger-films.blogspot.*com

  • Peckinpah is undoubtedly hollywood's greatest director.

  • true but sergio leone was the best

sam couldnt tie leone's boot straps

the good the bad and the ugly

once upon a time in the west

alone blow all sam's shit away 10 fold

    but i still love peckinpaw

  • take away ennio morricone's sound track and i would say peckinpah out directs leone overall.

  • esta pelicula, exige reverencia....Un clásico inolvidable...¡¡ que pelicula dios mio!!!!

  • La mejor pelicula que he visto en mi vida,LA PANDILLA SALVAJE, THE WILD BUNCH... no hay duda

  • This movie was on over the weekend on satellite. What a great movie...but not w/o lots of violence and the occasional breast show. William Holden was awesome in this!

  • he was hard on himself......why care about horses

  • peckinpah was hard on horses.

  • perfect scenesm, the best shooting ever, have to own this movie on DVD

  • Love this movie.Great cast.Great director. Can't get any better, even though I heard they were doing a remake of this..God,I hope not! Don't mess with the classics!

  • The idea has been dismissed. Scribe David Ayer (Training Day, SWAT) was supposed to direct, but his directorial debut, "Harsh Times", bombed.

  • Thank goodness because I doubt it would've been as good as the original.Rented Harsh Times and it was real good.

  • The greatest western of all times. Peckinpah = the master of American cinema and of the greatest directors ever. A true classic.

  • ...kiss my sister's black cat's ass!!!

    watta flick

  • If they move...KILL'EM...CLASSIC...they don't mske it like this anymore

  • Thanks for posting this one. Sam's masterpiece should never be forgotten. Lee Marvin was originally cast as Pike, but was doing "Paint Your Wagon". Bill Holden was then cast, and this movie jump started his career again. A true western classic that cause quite a stir in 1969, with the use of Sam's tradmark slo-mo graphic, violent, shots. Thank You again!
