I find that on level nine that you don't have to fall. I generally succeed if I jump a little to the right of the edge of it then at the full extent of the jump tap left.

Thirded on the last level life conservation.

Essentially, as you jump up to the first block, you want to be leaning slightly towards the spikes. As you move towards the blocks, instead of tilting over and falling down, you actually right yourself.

It's hard as heck to actually pull off, though. I managed it twice out of the many, many times I had to repeat that level.

Also, the goomba coin bug frustrated me to no end. I collected all the coins, and had 101/103. ;_;

Actually, I had a lot easier time with it. I just ran right, then jumped up to the left. You get slightly more height (just enough to make it) from a running jump, even if you're running the wrong way.

DC, I believe I have found a way to get up to the first platform on the last level without falling over. Simply stand at an angle on the ledge above the spikes and jump, and there you have it, he didn't fall over.

Also, anyone else feel like they're messing up the music in the Cave Story wiimake? Watch the waterway video, and compare the new music to the old. Sounds very different, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it also no longer really fits the area. Shame too, because it was one of my favorite tracks

You're not alone. Their trailers have a history of having poor audio quality, or remixes that sound worse than the original. Supposedly they're going to have the ability to switch between the old/new music and old/new graphics. Which is good because it gives us choice, but the new music and new graphics are really the only new parts of the upcoming release without DLC.

As far as la-mulana goes, I wonder how they're going to handle it, as the entire game was essentially built on MSX references. Are they going to take that out, or what? And what would they replace it with?
