This movie is not for anyone under the age of 13, both the movie AND the graphic novel...and the reason I say 13 is because they(we) may understand. Atleast..some do...lol
I still haven't seen the movie but I just finished the book, so I started watching Watchmen stuff, and yes, these TV spots have way too many spoilers.
This commercial got me to see this movie. It was amazing i was so glad i saw it!!! I never read the graphic novel but after the movie I ran and bought it. If you haven't seen it yet, you absolutely need 2!!And if you have you need to see it again. I have already seen it 3 times!!!
the movie is really good but the music had bad timing. I could have sworn it was the end like 15 times cause it had that legendary music thing alot. Great movie to show your 5 year old kids. jk. seriously DO NOT do that
I wish I knew that. lol. My little nephew had a miserable time at the movies but I loved Watchmen. I never heard of it, It was my nephew who begged me to take him to see it. I guess he thought it was like all the other super hero movies. lol. Guess he'll stick to Dragonball til he gets older.
guess i had the same mind as your nephew. i thought it was like every super hero movie but its like opposite. i watched with some friends from work and enjoyed. but ya not the best movie to take your nephew to. lol
Very true!!! This is a GAY movie. Mr. Manhattan walks around with a blue dick hanging out thru out the whole movie. Very DISGUSTING AND IRRITATING. Why couldn't they give him a short or underwear? Two thumb down movie
I haven't seen Watchmen yet and I really want to, but it looks confusing. All I really know about it is that someone dies and..... that's pretty much it. lol. Could reply explaining it to?
it's about super heroes in an alternate 1985 history. Nixon is elected again, and masks are banned (therefor so are super heroes). They had a team in the 40's, but most retired. Then came back again in the 80's, but was then banned.
The film starts with the Comedian's (a hero who was in both leagues) murder, which starts the plot.
world peace is held together by Dr. Manhattan (who can destroy nukes and probably everything else). But someone is trying to kill off the Watchmen, and possibly trying to start WW3.
The movie ending would have been wierd in the book, but it made mroe sense for the movie. Especially since they never went into detail about (or even mentioned) the artists/writers/genetic scientists working for Veidt.
I actually thought they were very clever with the ending. They kept the exact same feel and the same result, but in a way that saved time (so they didn't have to make a 6 hour flick). Cheers to them.
Agreed. this is probably the most epic commercial.
I too can't believe they took the squids out D: It needs the same outcome, so why change that detail? :/ I understand changing shit, but it's not something you can really cut out to be efficient, time wise.
I'm really curious how Snyder is gonna make up for taking out the squid. How's he gonna explain in a better way with Manhatten nukes? The alien squid was brilliant because it united the world against a common threat (even though it was staged). Why would the Soviets care if New York was suddenly attacked by Veidt and Manhattans own creation?
Just saw this today, I thought it was a really really good movie (have never read the comics though). If you look in Zeidt's 'lair', when they did a panning shot of the countdown timers, there were bombs all over the world, including one in Moscow.
SPOILERS (don't read if you haven't seen the film): Just saw the movie, they explain it as Dr. Manhattan deciding to 'punish' the planet for bringing the world to the brink of nuclear destruction. The worldwide co-operation is then explained by Nixon as the US and Soviets allying vs. Manhattan, though Veidt also mentions that as long as people think Manhattan is watching and judging them they won't dare go to the brink of war again. I think the alien attack idea made more sense to me.
I watched the movie before I read the comic. Just so I wouldn't know whats coming. And after reading the comic, I'm glad they changed it. The squid is awesome and all, but it would just look cheesy in the movie, no matter what they did.
But hey, at least the machine was called "SQUID", which was nice of them to do!
Great!

i think a giant squid would be too incredulous for cinema. Audiences not familiar with the comic would be like "WHAT THE FDADDERS?!"
