  • So whats happening? 

  • I have to say this is incredibly impressive. There's a lot of attempts to re-create the RPD in Source and other engines but you're doing a better job than the majority of the ones I've seen over the years.

    I know the music is the RPD Main Hall theme but which version of it is this? Haven't heard this particular rendition before so I suspect Outbreak 2 or something?

  • @Xgreck0X Thanks for the kind words. Yes it's the outbreak file 2 RPD theme. I was conflicted about what music to choose, and it's very difficult to cue a lot of different music types with multiple players so I'm limiting the music.

  • @0utatime I think you made a good choice with the Outbreak one, it has a more modern sound than the theme from RE2 and the scenes from Darkside Chronicles I don't think adds to the atmosphere as this does.

    I think limiting the music is a good idea as you say, it would be hard to get it right with so many variables at play. Keep it up man, you're doing great!

    I've been following your progress for a while. Still amazed by your work. Hoping you get to put something out soon but it's obvious you put a lot of work into it while still trying to have a normal life...please, don't stop!

  • @aquataz Taking a lot longer to pound out the bugs than I thought. I also wanted to work a few more custom models and textures into place. I promise it's coming, just taking a super long time.

  • Amazing work as always, 0utatime! I see you got those stairs leading down from the roof looking great, well done! When you zoomed out and showed the whole RPD from the air, I was speechless. You should be really proud of this, man. Can't wait to play it!

  • model viewer? You mean when you select a model in the model browser and when you click on it, to the right displays the model? Is that what won't show? That's not a problem. Unless you mean that models can not be viewed at all even after you set the prop_dynamic (or whatever). If that's the problem then ok.

  • @TheZombieExpertL4D No I mean when I go to place a prop_static, prop_dynamic, prop_physics, etc and specify the model in the entity, it opens the model browser where you can preview the model you're selecting. I can select the models, but the 3d preview is busted. It shows me nothing. while I could preview each one by selecting each one and clicking apply, it would be too time consuming to guess the right one I want. I've made sure this isn't just my configuration or computer.

  • @TheZombieExpertL4D I was pissed too but I'm over it. I have to move on and switching games is what it takes I guess. Honestly, I'd say they did this on purpose and are deliberately not fixing it to kill off l4d1 mods. I'm hoping to kind of wrap things up this weekend and release early next week. Let's see if I can get it all together in time.

  • @plusSNOVA HD Youtube videos on pause are my greatest friends for this sort of thing. When I started all I had were emulators with my original RE2 and RE3 playstation disks on my pc.

  • @GamerGeezer You can get a Jill replacement for Rochelle, for example, but I will not be replacing the l4d1 survivors with characters from the game. Mainly because the whole premise is that it's the l4d survivors in a Raccoon City.

  • Great job 0utatime, i've been following your creation for such a long time, it's coming along very well. Wish i had more practice with this stuff, or i'd love to help you out. Now if only Capcom will make a Outbreak file 3. That new Operation Raccoon City is an improvement on the return to old Resident Evil with zombies. :D But a Outbreak 3 would continue it's old feel. The new game is just a massive modern improvement.

  • @ajax9302 L4D2. I originally built it for l4d1, but the tools for l4d1 are broken making me port this over and continue development there.

  • @0utatime only disappointed part. I do not like L4D2 that much. mainly because of the too many items and the charger, jockey, spitter thing. BUT I still try it

  • @Quakeman224 Wish I had a choice in it, but it's currently the only way to go forward with l4d mods. I also wish I could distribute it to xbox people.

  • @Quakeman224 This is technically RE3. I wanted RPD to be something special though. I thought it was too brief and appearance in RE3 to make a good l4d map so I'm incorporating a lot of what you see in 2.

  • @0utatime Make sense. I would say (if you have the time) recreate the map of RE3 in there. but only areas that make sense to it. I think making a RPD map would work better in say CSS. in my opinion

  • Lookin' more and more outstanding with every new video released. Excellent work, 0utatime! I can't wait for a hands-on with this campaign.

  • @ajax9302 A lot of it has to do with architectural anomalies. Since Capcom used those pre-rendered back ground, they didn't need to make sure floors could actually connect to each other and I had to widen areas to support large zombie mobs and all 4 players. So far people have been pretty polite. You'll get a chance to see for yourself very soon. I considered doing an alpha release but I think a little more time and it will qualify for beta status.

  • I think you should place your own little easter egg where the large table is, sorta like Resident Evil 2 where their is a invisible button and after you keep pressing it 50 or so times, something awesome appears.

  • Holy shit...! 0_0 This looks so incredible, I love it! ^-^ I thought by now they would've made the original Red Gem Statue and Spade Key Statue by now but I guess it's to be expected to not have everything like it was in the true, original RE2 and 3 as they would probably be more awesomeness than the L4D1/2 engine could take I bet but still, this looks so incredible, well done! X3 No wonder I subbed to you and your work is as absolutely amazing as always 0utatime, truly! ^-^
