  • I have Asperger's Syndrome and ADHD & I'm in nursing school with a 3.9 GPA studying to become a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Therapist. I'd love to talk and help these kids and their families. It's not a bad disorder, we just really tend to be hyper, energetic, creative mind, not your "average" child. We can't sit still cause most things BORE us! To me, it's a unique gift. It's all about how the parents handle it and their perspective. I also don't believe in drugging up any kids under 16.

  • Great video! I could relate to it a lot. PAUSE AT 2:03 for a priceless facial expression!

  • i have adhd but im working on getting better but also if u press 7 she makes a weird face....sorry i randonmly clicked it and there it was

  • i have ADHD its had do some things like them and love legos

and tolled me when i was in the beging of 6th grade and im 14

  • i have ADHD its had do some things like them and love legos

  • pause at 2:03 I love that face!

  • What is Assburgers?

  • @legojoe12345 It's Asperger's Syndrome. It is often considered a high functioning form of autism.

  • There is no such thing as "ADHD" - some people just don't focus in a linear way. I'm very non-linear (surprise, I'm an artist).

If I woke up left-brain dominant tomorrow, I'd kill myself.

  • At what age can you tell if you have ADHD or not? is it like detectable at an early age only or what?

  • @emeralddragonex I suggest you consult resources on the internet like the CDC and CHADD.

    Rob

  • @JNJhealth I wish I had that luck and every-time I watch one of these videos about today's ADHD kids I get tears in my eyes because I feel like the system killed my talents and left me with the bad symptoms of ADHD. I go from depression to stress and I am extremely desperate for answers and someone who could really help me without being so depended on primitive beliefs and the systems rules. I don't have the money for professional help. Can you give me any answers?

  • @IamEyalMarcosLevit I'm sorry, we can't give you any medical advice, but you may want to wish to visit ADHD.com to investigate resources. Best of luck.

    Rob

  • @IamEyalMarcosLevit i know this is nothing to do with me lol but go to cancling like i go to, they dont give u medication straight away because they have to know if you have adhd or not but you might be teasted for it like im going to be :)

  • i have adhd so i now wat it feels like

  • @ethan9371 know what*

  • i guaruntee this kid is going to be famous when he gets older. Its people like this with such amazing creativity that evolve society.

  • @fwebby99 Great perspective! Thank you.

    Rob

  • @fwebby99 Everyone tells me that they think I am something different! My principal met me for the first time in 3rd grade and said "I don't know why but I have a strong feeling that you are going to do something special someday soon, I just have this feeling!" Everyone tells me that but I don't know what they mean! I can make up stories in my head in 1 minute and I don't know how! I have no clue where I got all this creativity!

  • @fwebby99

    I agree completely!

  • Your kids are amazing, and you are wonderful for celebrating them the way they are. I am an Adult with ADHD and I don't see it as anything 'wrong' - and whilst it can be hard to 'fit in' to the very dull and boring world that most have accepted - I wouldn't trade my passion for anything. I highly recommend the DaVinci Method, by Garret Loporto too, helps you realise that we aren't wrong, we are just what the world needs!!! Yay for George and Brad!

  • as-burgers? what the fuck is that!? it's aspergers dear.

  • goooood foooor himmm

  • Autism is similar to these and I'd just like to say that my friend's brother has autism but he's really great!

  • @SazzyReader Autism doesn't make these people any less than us! Just special in their own unique way!

    Kristen JnJ

  • @JNJhealth

    yep!

  • I also have ADHD and Aspergers, and I think it's not a bad thing. I think kids with Aspergers are very bright and creative. I love my life the way it is! :)

  • @CoreyMcc11 This is great! Everyone is made special the way they are, it's nice to see someone who realizes that and loves the way they are! :)

    Kristen JnJ

  • @JNJhealth thank you very much :)

  • @CoreyMcc11 No problem! Great to meet people like you!

    Kristen JnJ

  • @CoreyMcc11 Wow! Can I have one? A burger, I mean.

  • that is so sad.

  • try getting more sleep , studys show that childen and teens that have trouble sleep or falling asleep or staying asleep are often hyper and who wouldn`t be its not a disablety and if he can playy the guiter like that and can focus and he can`t focus on school and home work , theres nothin wrong with him , he just doesn`t like homework who agrees like this if you or thumbs up

  • i think this kid is really talented and amazing no matter what illness he has.

  • keep them busy, like buy an old lawn mower and give them some tools

  • music is to be felt first heard second why, well there are organ pipes in england that play 120 hz below what you can hear built 200 years ago.you can feel the sound but not here a thing but you can feel it in your gut,its just been found out you have brain cells in your gut that is wired to your brain...jeff aspie 48

  • his name is brad

  • This is inspiring. Great job son.

  • When I was 10,I used to make fun of people with ADHD. Till I found out that me and my dad had it. LAWL.

  • If you watch the movie "Adam", you'll get a better adjustment to Asperger's Syndrome.

Many of the people with Asperger's are very creative and brilliant to say the absolute least.

  • This video was really helpful for my son who was just diagnosed with adhd. I got to ask a teacher questions to help my son with school: mommyalertadhd(dot)com

    Hope this helps someone

  • I can't tell you how jealous I am of these two boys.... My home environment was never anything even resembling this harmonious and supportive, and the chaos is even worse for an ADD kid with an ADD dad and sister like me.

  • It is so good to be encouraged threw these tuff times.

  • i have aspergers and adhd and a tic disorder when people think of autism or autistic people they think that all of us cant talk or do thing for our selfs but we can it somtimes hard to do things but most of the time i am doing well but i have my melt downs

  • I HAVE HIS SAME PIANO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • m 19 i cant study and focus.my mind starts wandering ,daydreaming a lot.i used to be good at studies in school but from around age 15 i find studies very hard.i feel anxious around in crowd, neither i want to be left alone.i dont like doing boring stuff or things that are not easy.Do i have ADHD/ADD or nothing ?

  • @TheDescentJatt Ask the doctor and he/she will tell you!!

  • nice frisbee skills

  • awwn hime and his brother is cute and look just like there dad!!!there gooood at legos and i wish i could bulid the biggest lego scuplture and sell ir for 900$ to donate 100$ t each disease like breast cancer, adha, aids, and many more! i just wish i can make a change :)

  • WOW! They're the Best Indigos! The Artist Indigos :DD

  • You cannot claim that someone with adhd is any more creative than someone who doesn't. Any regular person that has a brain is creative and can have a highly imaginative mind regardless of having adhd or not.

My neighbor has ADHD and he used to physically/verbally bully me all throughout elementary school. Now hes 17yrs old and has several behavioral issues including school suspensions and trouble with the law. Does this make him more "creative" than a common criminal? Maybe, maybe not.

  • ADHD and all these other things isn't always a bad thing someting goes wrong but then if it goes wrong sometin else goes better like the: Creativity or music

  • WoW!! This kid is amazing, kids just love to play nothing wrong with him!!

    CooL!!!

  • I'm so sick and tired of people saying add / adhd isn't a real disorder :( . I was diagnosed at age 5, my life was good untill I went off the pills cause "i didn't like the way i felt" If I could go back in time, I'd teach my younger self a lesson - maybe I would have been successful with my life - and actually had friends.. When I went back on meds 3 weeks ago - * I went off for 4 years after being on them for 8 * I was astonished by how much I had missed out on unmedicated..

  • @SummerGameProject do these drugs make u unsocial or more social ?

  • what's wrong with ADHD?

there are many bad symptoms of ADHD... but people have to know that there are also good things about ADHD. that is, once they've found their interest, they are hyper focused on it.

Mozart, Beethoven, Virginia Woolf, Edison, Bach, Gogh.. they were all ADHD

It's better to have ADHD and be super good in my area of interest than not have ADHD and able to be focused on a job that doesn't even interest me and gets me money.

  • @mytownsanbon

    "What's wrong with ADHD?"

You can lose a lot of jobs?

    I am ADD!

  • @mytownsanbon adhd is not necessarily tied to all those people, van gogh wasnt clearly diagnosed adhd, back then they didnt know what he had. but if you are so crazy you cut youre ear off, i think there was something deeper than just adhd. i never heard of adhd people excelling in education, aspergers on the other hand is different. the only known adhd person out there is the guy from extreme makeover-ty or something

  • @mytownsanbon i thought ADHD makes one focus on more things at a time.it makes mind wander from here to there.drugs help focus on a particular things.isn't it ? correct me if m wrong

  • @mytownsanbon That's how I feel

  • @mytownsanbon these ones make incomes when adults. They work side by side with you.Years ago these was not even known. But are struggling.Glad kids today can find help.Quite an adjustment long ago they was teased relentlessly.

  • @mytownsanbon but half of the crap ppl witout ADHD can do we cant do cause its either boring or we dont like it. i have ADHD

  • @mytownsanbon This is so not true. I would so much rather be able to work. I don't care about being talented at something, when it will not support me. ADHD is not a gift. And just because Mozart may have had it. ADHD is NOT what made mozart who he was. He simply had a talent that went beyond his disability. I think what Dr. Russell Barkely says is more the case. .youtube.com/v/4xpEBE9VDWw&hl

  • @mytownsanbon there is absolutely NO evidence to support the claims that mozart, beethoven, virinia woolf, edison, bach, or gogh had ADHD. I'm not dissing anybody who does have that disorder, but i simply ask that you not make such outrageous claims. You could have simply made that up. Did you know that Einstein had Down's Syndrome and Plato had OCD and Ivan the Terrible was a sociopath?

  • @mytownsanbon I highly agree with what you just said there. Makes perfect sense.

  • wtf is wrong with having ADHD? i have it, i do the same things he does, but im just fine.. I mean, whats wrong with being creative? And not 1 kid in the world wants to do his homework. XD

  • I was dignosed with ADHD when I was little. My two older brothers and my twin sister all have it. When I was in the 5 or 6th gread my mom took us all of our medcation and started giving us coffee or soda. it help us better then the meds. the meds would make us zombies and make us go to sleep. so she gave us soda and coffee because we would be able to stay awake and do our class work.

  • They are all good with lego lol.

  • hmmmmmm the parents of the other kid with adhd. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • i have ADHD and i am 12 i got medicin now it is better :)

  • good 4 that kid

  • Sad /// No Comment.

  • its not a disorder. its a difference

  • @WETxBABY Normally differences are not being treated by taking methylphenidate. People with ADHD are different !

  • i'm pretty sure i have ADHD, but i havnt been diagnosed. i'm extremely hyper, i have a hard tim paying attention, i can't sit in one place without getting up, or i just squirm a lot. i do crazy things without thinking about the consequences. is this ADHD. or am i just weird?

  • @punksnotdead256 I was diagnosed with ADHD. If i were you i would go to the doctor. He`s going to help you !! There is nothing wrong about it at all and you won`t be regret this way.

  • @punksnotdead256 I was diagnosed with ADHD. If i were you i would go to the doctor. He`s going to help you !! Good luck to you!!

  • @punksnotdead256 I was diagnosed with ADHD. If i were you i would go to the doctor. He`s going to help you !! Good luck to you!!

  • @punksnotdead256 I'd say that sounds very ADHD!

  • Why not before medication, doctors recommend changing diet? Which can be just as effective. I mean if they want treatment why not go there first?

  • adhd makes you more creative

  • I have ADD, and I am not medicated. It's not as bad as the media seem's to like to project it. I personally think the whole disorder is a bit overblown by the doctors.

  • @thegeekproductions . I disagree with you. Your ADD may be mild or you were most likely diagnosed by one of those doctors that labels everyone to be ADD. For me, having ADD has been extremely difficult for me, but I am happy to say that I have learned to become responsible, organized, etc. Bottom line, please don't put it down, thank you.

  • @thegeekproductions . I forgot to mention. I've never been on stimulant medication and never plan on being on it either.

  • assburgers is almost like being autistic, like sometimes they cant talk right and they dont know it. and when they do something funny and people laugh... they keep going til its not funny anymore.

  • @M3nt4LkidzwifaC4M3R4 The correct spelling is "Asperger's"

  • @JNJhealth Just like the town of Assperg near Stuttgart, Germany. The castle on the hill next to the town named Hohenassperg was the political prison of Württemberg during centuries. And today it is? The prison hospital of Württemberg.

  • @M3nt4LkidzwifaC4M3R4 ... Asperger's is like a cousin of Autism... The spectrum is very broad. There are people who really suffer, and there are those who are extremely successful because of their narrow interests and ability to hyper-focuss... Like Bill Gates, Steven Spielberg, Woody Allen, Beethoven, Alexander Graham Bell, John Denver, Bob Dylan, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Jim Henson, Alfred Hitchcock, Thomas Jefferson, Mozart, Charles Schulz, James Taylor, Andy Warhol and many more...

  • @M3nt4LkidzwifaC4M3R4 aspergers problems socially deal with big social situations- who are big crowded areas, give them too much stimulation so they cant process it, and they feel overwhelmed, they dont have a filter too filter in the loudness of situations.

  • both my boys have adhd. i myself also have it. we have come to see it as a gift. my boys love math, science, and football. getting them to sit down and read a book is a challenge but when you have kids with adhd, you come up with some interesting ways to get them to focus. in our home there is never a dull moment..lol

  • I can "feel the music too"

  • This is odd I have what he has and I'm good at music and visualizing cities and places and used to be really into video. I am really creative too...

  • @ydrjtt That's not odd... that is a gift :-)

  • It sounds like George is Hyperactive/Impulsive with a co-condition of Asberger and his Brother Brad has Predominantly Inattentive ADHD. The mom has ADHD but she does not mention if she is Predominantly Inattentive of more of Hyperactive/Impulsive. I have a very similar household without the Asberger's component. These kids are so interesting and informative to me asI have a web page called primarilyinattentiveadd that explores some of the difference of the Inattentive subtype of ADHD. Tess

  • @tessmesser1 I am the mom in the video. I struggle with the attention piece of ADHD. I am the classic daydreamer variety. I have NO problem paying attention to my imagination however.

    :-)

  • Jesus loves Him :)

  • @11pouncey11

I am not sure that is correct. There is some speculation to it... but in all the books I have read on ADHD and Asperger's, there is nothing stating that as a fact. But... me and my son's have ADHD, and my younger son is also sprinkled with Asperger's. My side of the family has ADHD. My husband's side has a few Aspergery types. So I think it was our combined gene pool. There are some similarities though -hyper-focus, sensory integration, hyperactivity, and visual thinking...

  • @11pouncey11: Is there an article that ADHD is on the autistic spectrum? I am doing a paper on ADHD and a cited article would be great

  • @aeblanchette I'm not really sure. Perhaps there is some on line research you can do. I would suggest the CDC site, for a start.

    Rob

    jnjhealth

  • my friend has ADHD HE IS SO FUnNY!!!

  • i got adhd

  • i have adhd and i have a musical talent as my mom likes to say. people make fun of me for my high energy level and my loud voice but they dont understand that i cannot control what i was born with

  • I Have Adhd

  • you are awsome! i can almost relate. i have ADHD, but i try not 2 let it bother me. i am creative as well, ive been playing the flute since i was in 6th grade. hang in there!

  • You are a very smart and caring 6th grader!

  • i hate the way the medication makes me feel. I feel like a zombie. I can focus but i have no emotions or care about anything. I always feel pissed off. I have been taking medication for 7 years.

  • This is incorrect, it's spelled Asperger's

  • if you kwon any girl who have Asberger's and ADHD please contact me her on youtube on a pm meggenger

  • @nellyjonassoon1993 I do i have a.d.h.d and reply for i can tell you a secret

  • what a horrible name to call a disorder "assburger" im not trying to be affensive but how is it spelled?

  • you notice there well to do.. what if they were poor? the key to adhd is to stay busy.

  • What does well to do have to do with ADHD? How do you know if we are well to do or not. Well to do or not... ADHD is ADHD. Staying busy is a good idea.

  • wow i feel so sorry for him, my neighbor has adhd and unlike this kid, he's on the verge of going mentally retarded, but unlike my neighbor, this kid actually has skills, but when he gets to high school it's going to get so hard for him to pay attention to all the work, i wish he and his family the best

  • Ive never been diagnosed with ADHD, but i think that i really have it. It is a hinderance and a gift. I compete in DECA, a business competition that requires creativity. This "Disorder" has helped me become the top student on my team, being only a first year student. It also made me almost be ineligible too because i didnt do my homework :P

  • Hang in there and let your talents guide you!

  • ADHD kids are opend to space......creativity and other special talents.....but the bad side's are impatiance....and hard concentration....

  • I understand everything you are going through! Things seem managable until they begin high school. It is so hard, for them to be able to handle such orginization and keep good grades!

  • I also have adhd and aspergers i was a real monster of a kid these guys are well behaved :) good to see

  • what is asburgers?

  • According to the Centers for Disease Control:

    Asperger Syndrome

People with Asperger syndrome usually have some milder symptoms of autistic disorder. They might have social challenges and unusual behaviors and interests. However, they typically do not have problems with language or intellectual disability.

    Rob

    jnjhealth

  • @JNJhealth I think I have that. Because my interest is fire alarms.

  • @XxSuperShadicxX Asburgers is a form of autism but milder than normal autism , <3

  • hey im obviously gonna appreciate mental disabilities im aspergers syndromed aswell as adhd and my creativity is amazing but social skills are X( nobody realises that to me theyre the freaks nobody cares either tto them im just A GODDAM RAGDOLL!

  • what this is the same mom than the other video with another 'son' she MUST be an actress, duh!!

  • She's not an actress. She's a real mom with 2 kids who have ADHD.

    Rob

    jnjhealth

  • If his fingers aren't long enough, you're supposed to give him a smaller guitar.

Focusing on the talents is important.

  • Thanks for your comment. He is playing on a junior sized Cordoba. He was sized for it by his guitar instructor :-)

  • Now that explain why people call me stupid. Didn't even know there is such thing as ADHD. Most of the symptoms fits me. Not sure about creativity, though. Cos' I was told by about 95~98% people in my life (that includes my siblings, even my mother) that I have alost 0% creativity..........

  • I feel you . I was told I was normal and forced into trying to fit in and do academic work rather than anything creative. If they had known what I was as a kid, maybe I would have developed a talent. I think I do have some ability with music but it was never developed so I just do random stuff for my own amusement.

  • Thank you." What is normal?" That's a great question! I am not sure I have the correct answer for that, but I can tell you that being different and out-of-the-box is way more creative and interesting.

    :-)

  • Good for you in accepting and appreciating his unique qualities!!!!!!! Kids didn't used to get all these labels when I grew up. I have a family member who was much like Brad. Now high tech PhD with other similar friends who relate to him. He enjoys hikes, astronomy, photography and going to the symphony. He never get into group jock sports even as a spectator. What is "normal"? We need people who are not the norm in this world! Glad you can see that! Kudos!
