  • Does he have DVD of what he is teaching? I am in USA and love to be his student.

  • mokhlese oos navidam hastim =d>

    kheyli ostadi

  • Can a drummer make sounds like wind howling and melodies like this on a "primitive instrument" as a comment says down here?? This is art and this man is an artist in true meaning of the word!

Other drummers play the rhythm only. they dream of being able to play a melody, but this guy is doing it. Some people with some simple comments here made a fool of themselves.

Just show this to any pro drummer and he will be shocked.

  • this afghah be nazare man is making a fool out of himself just sits at home an create some new sounds on tonbak he iss a good drummer but there is no rhythm here t enjoy

  • Awesome performance!!! You've got to have time to listen from the beginning to the end. This music may be is not for everybody taste, just like any other music, but millions of you out there may say wow!!! And most drummers would appreciate this more. I love to see this musician performing "live". Thanks for sharing.

  • Music is about feeling, dancing, fun..

This got nothing.. just sounds.. :/

  • such a moron

  • All Zarb has the option of making this sound that rises and falls, or is a special Zarb?

realizes where someone puts their arm to mind?

    exelent drummers

  • The sound you hear is mostly based on his technique and skills of Tombak (Zarb) playing. Nevertheless, the first instrument he uses is modified a little to get more dramatic sound.

  • @bertoluzzi2009 : The first zarb he uses is called Cooki. These lines of produce was introduced to market by HELMI. They are not sold anymore bc they didnt give a good customer rating. In such products, there is a notch on top, where he pushes with his elbow that can stiffen and loosen the skin. That is why he can get a really sharpened or loosened sound with just snaps of his finger. Anyhow, I dont consider that really a good technique bc any one can do it if there is the right tool.

  • It is nothing but a primitive sound effect on a rather nonmodern defective traditional instrument!

  • ahsant,,,,,,,,,,afarin be ostad bozorg

  • It's just a basic experience ,what's so new with it?After all it's all about sound effect and has nothing to do with rythm.

  • afsus ke ba keifiate bad oplaod shode, kash mishod anra ba keifiate behtar shanid.

  • im taking lessons from him in person in iran!

he is truely the best! he one of my cousins best friends!

  • I have both CDs "Genesis" and "Temple of Wooden Figures". I enjoy both very much.

  • It is true he has jedi force. I have never heard the tombak sound like that. He is the Bach of iran.

  • What an amazing sound. What a creative expression. Genius. That is what he is doing.

Great comment hushmana ! I think he is phasing between parallel universes as he plays. He seems to have solved that problem.

  • what the hill iz tryin to do

  • Simply Amazing. What a creative artistic expression. Distinctly Irani and yet transcends labels simultaneously. Spiritual and deep .... still wildly entertaining. Beauty. Groovy.

  • Navid is certainly the most improve technician nowadays.

So a pity this video got a so poor quality.

    Thanks though.

  • He is the best and the greatest,I love his playing......

  • this guy uses the Dark Jedi Force technique to play the tonbak. Only few use this mystique technique. Just check out minut :53 until 1:27 and you'll see what I mean. He is going crazy. It is like he's having trouble thinking about a difficult physics problem.
