I'm thinking about getting a MacBook or MacBook Pro, I'm in High School, and I don't know if the pro is worth the $200 more. What do I gain with that money?
is i7 better than i5? i want to get macbook pro 17 inch with 8 gig ram and i7 (2.66 GHZ) and 500G 7200rpm for £2225.45. is it worth it? PLUS i am just a student.
@IRANseeYAsee - To be honest, I'm also going to be a university student in 2011, and I'm going to be doing quite demanding graphic design work. Even then, I can't see the need in the Core i7 MacBook. Both the Core i5 and Core i7 are dual core proccessors, and the i7 is a fair bit faster but for even what I want to do, the Core i5 @ 2.4GHz is easily fast enough. Also, buy your own RAM and install it yourself, it's much cheaper - just make sure it's the right stuff!
@TecBookPro We haven't reached mid 2010 yet. Then again I don't know how tech ppl name their things, in terms of releases. Like fashion shows will show their spring/summer collections in december ... if you understand what I'm trying to articulate ... : /
slower as my i7 on window

@OriginalSwissCheese shouldn't make mush of a difference since they aren't opening at boot. But yes thats something to take into consideration.

The i5 is not a quad. All the MacBook Pros are duos. The i5 just has better architecture.
