the damage in games should be based off the caliber, not the weapon. For example, the M4 in CoD4 does less damage than the G36c. They are both 5.56x45mm

@iseeuat100yds Same in MW2. The Tar, which fires a 5.56 is the same damage as a Scar and AK, but then you have guns like vector, which is the same caliber as the UMP, and for some reason takes more bullets. The developers in these games have no idea what they're doing.

@HKUser92 believe me they know what they are doing, but they care a lot more about game balance than ralism. The developers spend a lot of time researching the weapons, but at the end of the day they want a balanced game, not a realistic one. If you wana get really technical as well you could say that the smaller rifle round will cause more trauma if body armour isnt involved at all. In the end its just a game, I'd love them to make a realistic shooter but it wont happen

@clintdelicious Well what they should do is take guns that are just pointless out of the game. The uzi, for example, is an outdated gun, and there are many others they could add in (MP7 for example). And the tar, as another example, is smaller, and extremely accurate and at longer ranges, so you could make your mobility better, and maybe be a little more accurate long range. There are ways they could balance the game, I just think they're too lazy to really look into it.

@HKUser92 I agree, thisgame remember isnt modern its set decades ago so the uzi wasnt exactly outdated. They want to put in their favourite guns and worry about stats later. There as loadsa rifles (like the tar and sa80) that are just as mobile as an smg. they just want to have more variety and scope in a game. Games are nothing like real life, in cod covering fire for example is non existant! you arnt afraid to get shot in these games,, they are as far from reality as you can get

@clintdelicious Yeah, I know. They could have taken it out of MW2, along with the MP5K (no military would use the K version as it has no stock). It mainly annoys me because I shoot guns quite often, and then you see stupid decisions by game developers. For example, the Famas is not a burst weapon, and the only way you can make it one is to have a gunsmith mod it. It's decisions like that that make me question if they have weapons experts in these games.

@HKUser92 You can put a stock on an mp5k though and special forces from loadsa countries have actually got them, they are just not used very often. The british sas used the ingram m11 for quite a while even! Also with burst weapons in these sillys games how come one tap shoots 3 times? When you shoot a real burst fire weapon it fires just like an automatic, exceopt that after firing 3 round it will stop so you still hold the trigger down. They get advised I think thats all, gamers dnt no guns

@clintdelicious True, but then it turn into the MP5K PDW, which is not the mp5K. And actually, the Mac 11 wasn't used very long, for the main reason of it not being able to hit anything. It was used on a small amount of missions though. I just wish that they would have some "experts" on guns to help design these guns for the game. It doesn't have to be like actual combat, but at least ACT like you tried to get the guns accurate.
