One thing that I find unattractive about iOS is how most of the apps are paid. If I ever get an iPhone or iPod Touch, I'll basically be cleaning out my wallet just for app purchases. On Android, you can download a bunch of great apps without spending a dime. Developers get to offer a service to a greater audience, and still earn money through ads, donations, and/or premium apps. Might not work for every app, but I definitely like having most of my apps be free.

Sad to say, there are some people out there who carries Androids just to prove and show it to the world that they are up-to-date and in touch with the real tech world, that's all...they are not interested to pay for downloading games and apps really...but i do hope these people belongs to the minority, yeah...

Android is linux based so you can kind of tell why much of it is free. iOS on the other hand has been selling music through iTunes for a while, and then that just carries onto the apps. I wouldn't expect to make a living off of Android apps.

i definitely started buying more apps on the Android Market precisely to avoid what you said, but i think that both Google and developers need to help this by:

- Google needs to increase the 15min period for refund, 24h can be too much but something like 3/6/8 hours can be fair enough. Or even better, they should let developers to choose that limit, based on the app

- Developers should always try to make a free/demo version of paid apps, but you can't force them so i think most depends on Google
