@MrFoxy101 basically the episode was to figure out what kind of condition the patient had. i think he had an accident of some sort and ever since he was brilliant at the piano - never missing a note.

episode starts with the patient beginning a concert, but he misses some notes and starts to panic. the camera closes in, and the patient's hands are contorted and the majority of his fingers are bent backwards.

house brings the piano in so he can "see the music" - and thus diagnose the patient. :)

The song is from season 3, episode 15 - Half Wit. Dave Matthews plays a mentally ill guy which is apparently not so slow on keyboards. And up until 0:34 House is showing him his unfinished highschool composition... after 0:34 the "Half Wit" developes it. A great episode!

I'm sorry to tell you, Dave Matthews did use a hand double. I'm a huge fan of both Hugh and Dave, but Dave said in an interview that he used a double. It was a video interview, I saw him say it. However, Hugh did say that Dave is overly modest about his piano skills.
