  • Thank you for making such a beautiful video of Gilda! This is a precious video.

When I heard her sing, it feels like she never left us. She was truly an angel on earth, during her time here..now excuse me, i need to grab some tissues :')

  • What a great tribute! She made me smile! Nothing compares to her dance with Steve Martin on SNL! That was true brilliance! We loved you, Gilda!

  • This video was absolutely beautiful, her friends and family should see it. They would be so touched...

  • It's hard to believe she's been gone for over twenty years. What a gem. Who didn't love Gilda...

  • You're right about her being the funniest comedienne of all time. I rank her in the character actress category since she did so many. People often think that Lucille Ball is the funniest ever, but Lucy only ACTED funny. She was always telling people that. Gilda could come up with stuff few of us would dare to approach...i.e. Roseanne Roseannadanna's thoughts. This is a great tribute you put together. I love Gilda and I love doing vocal impressions of her. She is missed very much here.

  • Bless her heart. She used to make me laugh so had when I was a kid.

    RIP

  • I still love you Gilda. And I still love the Chocolate man, your husband Gene Wilder. You both made my life happier. I have Gilda Radner paperdolls. I am reminded of the song, I Will Remember You, when I think of you and your handsome hubby. Roseanne roseannadanna forever.

  • I loved when she sat in the oversized chair and acted like a little girl ...She was hysterically funny...loved her and felt so badly about her ovarian cancer..But she brought light to this silent killer...Bless you Gilda

  • One of the funniest ladies ever. Miss her terribly. What a shame we lost her so young. What a talent.

  • God...She made me laugh!!! That whole group was just wonderful....

Did Gene Wilder ever get remarried?

  • In Gilda's book that is featured in this video she wrote that she loved tuna and had it for lunch practically everyday of her life. I LOVE YOU GILDA !

  • Brian - what a wonderful tribute. Thank you, I remember her show at the WinterGarden as if it were yesterday.

  • @sesresu Thanks for the kind words - she is still so missed. Check out my book "Gene Wilder: Funny and Sad" to read more about her and her marriage to Gene.

  • "Arguably" the funniest comedienne of all time? I'm trying to think of one who even comes close. And to think, her humor was never cruel, or cynical, or mean-spirited. Perhaps it's only fitting that she's gone, like some gentle little forgotten thing, with no clear purpose but to beautify, right out of Orwell's curiosity shop, now all safely hidden away from the Thought Police.

  • Gilda was too young when she passed away...She is well missed. (Nice Tribute.)

  • @JM13121 What did Gilda Radner die from (cancer, overdose, plane crash, car crash, etc.)

    She was really funny

  • Jewess Jeans - just right

    Jewess Jeans - outta sight!

...you don't have to be Jewish to wear Jewess Jeans...but it wouldn't hurt.

Lol! Love that Skit -it was one of her best!

  • Thank you. I loved that girl, Gilda.

  • If I could only have one dead SNL cast member back, it would be Gilda.

  • A 2011 time machine lets me see you

    /watch?v=89Sxn6I4ubA

    really!

  • I wish Gilda sang more. She may not have had a GREAT voice, but she handled the specialty material written for her MORE than adequately - and they were very good songs for the most part, two. Although I find Rouge obnoxious with Desmond Child, they do a lovely job of recreating the always-infectious 60s girl group sound. I really wish she's done a whole album of this stuff.

  • I'd never heard this before. Very pretty and sweet. Thank you for posting it

  • @mattmeyermatt Check out her singing this: Honey Touch Me.

  • It makes me sad to see how in love her and gene were and to have it all taken away.....so so cruel.

    RIP xx

  • it has the same name as me and she died and I was born 0_o

  • Love this thank you : )

  • In my country Portugal, I still can not find the DVD to buy. :(

  • Wonderful video. Still missing you Gilda after all these years.

  • Beautiful. Just like Gilda. She was one of a kind.

  • Miss you Gilda. Scarey that she was my age when she lost her battle with cancer.

  • she was amazing, I'm a huge SNL fan and my dad told me about her a couple weeks ago, since then I have fallen in love with her many talents. RIP Gilda, you will never be forgotten.

  • Miss her. She was a RIOT. Where is the bit where she did Patty Smith with Bill Murray????? She was Killer funny & sweet, too.

  • I MISS YOU GILDA!

  • Love You Gilda! You made me laugh! Thank you!

  • I Had no idea that the comical genius that is Gilda Radner could sing! She sings so beautifully. Truly a devine talent that we lost too too soon:(

  • beautiful tribute. I wish she were still with us. Sad sad loss.

I guess God needed some laughs.

  • She was wonderful. One of the funniest people on the planet and even up to today, my favorite SNL cast member of all time. If any of you have a chance to read her book, "It's Always Something." it is very good and worth the time. She died too young but fought her cancer bravely. RIP, Gilda, you are truly missed.

  • I started watching SNL it's first season in 1975.. I was 10yrs old.. I have watched it every season and I have to say that Gilda Radner was the funniest cast memeber of all... When I was in High School I had a poster of Rosanne Rosannadanna on my bedroom wall... she cracked me up..I LOVE her!

  • So sad to lose a wonderful and amazing person Gilda Susan Radner may she RIP and never be forgotten.

  • I remember seeing this special and laughing so uncontrollably! And I couldn't wait for Saturday nights so my friends and I could watch her!!

And then after she died, I saw this special again...and the song took on a completely different meaning...and I cried.

    She was a gem!!!!

  • Gilda Radner was the Lucille Ball of the 1980's. So sad she was taken from us too soon.

  • EXCELLENT

  • Hey Bunny, it's always something!! Miss you so much Gilda. This is one of my very favorite songs. Thanks for the laughes and tears.....

  • 1:14

When I think of Gilda, that is the picture that comes to mind. That unforgettable SNL pic.

  • I was actually angry when she died, someone this beautiful in character, integrity and wit needs to be here.

I felt real bad for Gene, I heard it nearly destroyed him.

    RIP Gilda

    --a goy

  • back in the 80's i was too young to appreciate gilda comedies...few months ago i saw saturday night life the best of gilda radner.. it was awesome

  • Gilda, I love you. You will always be the funniest girl I know.

  • I love Jewish girls.

  • I hear that.

Not Jewish but they always used to come after me..........they actually still come after me! I ask why and they all tell me "because you are a mench(sp). They like to sink those claws into me.

  • Love her voice the lyrics and her. Thanks.

  • Brilliant

  • Thank you so much for this video. It made me cry, but I loved it. She is my absolute idol and I look to her in everything I do. She was not only a hilarious comedian but a phenomenal human being.

  • she was very pretty and very funny lady!

  • It's perplexing to me how we have lost the most brilliant comediennes...Gilda Radner, Madeline Kahn, Lucille Ball...but for some reason we still have Phyllis Diller. I wish there was an exchange program...

  • seeing the pics of her and Gene make me wish I was married, for some reason. They look so happy

  • Gilda... I remember reading about her death on an airplane back from Italy where I had taken 10 teenagers on a world peace journey. God bless Gilda.

  • I was a huge Gilda fan throughout my high school days. Such a sad world without her around

  • gilda you are so sweet ...... so sensitive........me and the world miss you.....this is my favorite song ....... your performances will always live on. ;-)

  • the was ver y pretty i'm so upset shes no longer liveing

  • One of the greats!

Especially loved her "Baba Wawa" lol

  • Do not speak of what you do not know. I will give you a clue: If you keep your mouth shut, no one will know how stupid you are.

  • Nah. I don't know much about her but so far as I can gather she was self-deprecating.

In contrast, QED, you're an overt egotist desperate for attention.

So, hope this helps. Now you feel free to go do summat useful ;-)

  • I could just imagine that beautiful smile on Gene Wilder's face =)

  • I hope she sang that song to Gene Wilder on their wedding day. I can imagine them slow dancing as if they were in a dream come true.

  • I cant help but remember from somewhere but she died before I was born...rip Ms. Radner

  • csabicsekkerqazwsx

Thankfully this account has been closed. I am very new to youtube and was shocked that a person could be so heartless towards people suffering from cancer.

Youtube should never allow cruelty like that.

  • too young to know her work...but love all that i have seen and she truly was an amazing person...extremely funny...lol

  • beautiful.

  • I Loved her, Such a loss for this world.

  • wonderful.

    just like gilda. =]

  • this song was written by the very famous writer Desmond Child the same person that wrote LOADS of hit songs!

  • this is really nice R.I.P. gilda radner

  • is it just me, or did she look like joy behar?

  • ONE OF MY IDOLS

  • Comment removed

  • I miss Gilda...she was always the best

  • Does camomille cure stupidity and rudeness??

There are insensitive people in the world and you ARE one of them!!!

  • excuse me for being skeptical, but a man at 63 would at least know how to speak proper english; and while the older generation may have their rude moments, a majority are smart enough to know better about spewing the drivel that's coming from you; you, sir, are an a**hole; makes me pine for the day when Youtube finally decides to start monitering it's comments more closely; have them pass an inspection before going on for everyone to see. A beautiful video like that, then I have to see this...

  • Thank you for saying that with such eloquence.

This person is quite obviously a bitter, uninformed and probably a lonely man. I doubt his heart will change though, beause it seems he doesn't have on in the first place.

  • You are off you stick buddy

  • Gilda will always live on in our laughter. Thanks Gilda!

  • @wamphyriscurse Just click the "spam" button and the comment gets hidden, old geezer. Why even acknowledge the asshole?

  • @wamphyriscurse What in the world are you talking about? Was there a rude comment from someone that I missed?

  • @wamphyriscurse That's the beauty of free speech, everyone is entitled to an opinion and has the right to express it. I abhor censorship and anything that takes away our civil rights. You may not like what others have to say, but they have the right to say it.

  • You are a miserable person. You never know what fate may await you. I hope you find peace somewhere, as I think you need it as your "tea" isn't doing the trick.

  • I Dont think scientists working every day must have overlooked chamomille. you are a fucking pig and a curse upon humanity. this woman died from a painful disease, not some government conspiracy. gilda deserves better than you csabicsekkerqazwsx. we all do.

  • One of the absolute masters of comedy characterization and especially facial expressions.

  • As a 7 year cancer survivor, I urge everyone to support Gilda's Clubs that are in your area. They do marvellous & therapeutic work and also....

Gilda Radner was one of the most lovable and creative ladies who ever spent time on this planet..

    A very touching tribute.

  • That pretty well sums it up. Very well said.

    Gilda was brilliant.

  • She truly was amazing. Finally a video with no hating.

    Rest in Peace Gilda!!!

  • now you have gone and made me cry, just beautiful

  • That was beautiful. Thank you for making this.

  • I watched this having no idea it was her singing- amazingly beautiful! ANYONE know anywhere I can find this song. I'd imagine it's not on CD- iTunes...maybe, I hope?

  • gilda radner - honey (touch me with my clothes on) .mp3 ;)

    ..i suggest to dedicate this to a girl...for valentine's day :P

  • The book "it's always something" was a given to my mother when she was 36, wasn't a bit sick, I don't think....But was diegnosed with Ovarian cancer at 38, for some reason she still had the book and gave it to me to read, when I ask why she wanted me to read it she simply said I new this was going to happen and I want you to know as we go along what is happening..I will never forget the CA125 test for that type of cancer, Gilda PREACHED about it in the book, I love Gilda, still have the book.

  • Sweet, sweet, sweet! I'd never heard her sing..or at least I don't remember. Thank you for this beautiful tribute. Gilda was one of a kind.

I never actually met her, but our paths crossed...literally. Must have been the early 80's - she and friends passed by us while walking through Little Italy. The next time I saw her was in our Radiology office for treatment. Gene seemed to tower over his little weak sparrow. You could feel the pain..and so much love. Heartbreaking loss.

  • I used to hate my name when I was in graden school...it is Gilda. The cute, popular girls were all named Lynette, or something like that. I didnt know of any other Gildas until I saw Rita Hayworth in the movie, and when I started watching the original SNL shows when I started college. Gilda, of course, was my favorite. And she grew up in the Detroit area just like me! Rita was beautiful, and Gilda was funny, so talented, that it gave me hope. I wouldnt want any other name. So proud. Thanks, Gilda

  • What a sin. She was much to young! Deffinetly the greatest of her time. I really do miss that type of genius. ='(

  • A friend of hers wrote a touching tribute about working w/her and the epilogue was so touching I cried! One of the rarities that someone so funny died and actually made me cry. I have to find it but it was something to do with making a wish because she was afraid of the dark or she wanted her week to be great. So he did it for her at her funeral. OMG I'm about crying now just thinking of it!

  • I'm pretty sure the book you're talking about is "Bunny Bunny" by Alan Zweibel.

  • umm dont get all pissy at me plz, but just out of curiosity wat happened to her?

  • She died of ovarian cancer in 1989 - right in her prime. She was married to Gene Wilder. She was in her early 40's - taken much too young. A great talent - haven't seen anyone like her since. Most women today in comedy are absolutely horrendous compared to her.

  • I used to think this was just a cute song when Gilda was living, now I just can't handle it. Way too sad to hear for me, but this is a lovely tribute. I wish we had more time with her, she was loved.

  • Gilda was amazing!!! You just can't top her!

  • Gilda sang and wrote the lyrics to this song.

  • She was awesome.

  • Love the glasses playing the piano pic!

  • jax

  • This is such a touching song from a pioneering woman who was a hero and friend to so many...thank you so much for posting this :)

  • She was amazing! This brings back so many memories of better times and laughter. My heart aches for Gene Wilder....they were an awesome couple! They were made for each other! Thank you for all the laughter!!

  • So funny you Gilda

  • That was great. She is a gift. Love ya, Gilda.

  • What a touching tribute to one of the best funny ladies of the 20th Century! R.I.P. Gilda

  • i remember the night SNL was on when she passed away, i cried that night, steve martin hosted, which seemed fitting, given he was on the show so much in the early years.

  • Really nicely done - thank you.

  • Does anyone know who wrote this song? I have never heard anyone else sing it....Jax

  • I haven't cried about Gilda in a while. Thanks for the healing tears...but especially for the laughter. Thank goodness we have her on video.

  • we miss u Gilda Radneer rest in peace you were great on Snl we miss u

  • I like this song, and I really miss Gilda as well as her hubby, Gene Wilder.

  • Gene Wilder is still alive....

  • Gene Wilder is ALIVE, he's just retired, I think. This is a great tribute, I forget if I commented on this before, I'm watching all my favorites again... They should put Gilda Live on DVD.

  • I always liked this song...I remember when she sang it in her show. Wonder who wrote it?

  • Wouldn't it be funny to find out that Johnny Mathis wrote it! LOL.

  • This is a great compilation. I really thank you for making it. Those pictures with her and Gene are truly amazing.

  • Very nice...

  • Very nice...

  • Very nice...

  • Very nice...

  • I just read Gilda's book, I love her more than I have ever loved her now. She's wonderful and a true gem to the entertainment industry.

  • Can someone please post Lisa doing "the way we were".. Would love to see that one more time...

Miss you Gilda. rest in peace funnly lady!

  • Watching clips like this proves just how short and cruel life can be. There's just enough time to make a difference.

  • Gilda was an incredible comedienne, actress, and woman. Her memory lives on in episodes of SNL from the 70s, as well as her movies. We miss you and we love you Gilda Radner!

  • Bunny Bunny :)

  • I feel so sad.. such an emptiness when I stop and think that Gilda really is gone.. forever.. I pray she knows how very much she was loved and ever will be. I love you Gilda!

  • I loved her. What a beautiful, sweet, funny, talented woman she was.
