  • The Buddha WAS NOT a messenger of a god! But, this is clearly stated by the Blessed One Himself in the suttas (no need to elaborate here.)

  • @Tauron68

Concepts of God vary. Baha'is believe that indeed the Buddha was a messenger of the unknowable essential first mover or cause of all phenomenon of which is described in many inadequate ways, since words cannot describe IT. We use God for ease, but I personally understand the heavy baggage this word carries. Hopefully the Baha'i do not offend you with this inadequate label.

  • @mikechamp78 Hello, my friend. I am not offended by anyone who comes from Truth. I am merely asserting a fact of the Buddha's Teaching. There is no concept of a "Big Boss" in the Dhamma (Buddha's Teaching's). In fact, the Buddha denied that He was a messenger, incarnation or prophet of a supreme being. That's all.

May you be well and happy! May all beings be well and happy! _/I\_

  • @Tauron68 I would love to hear your opinion of the following translated manuscripts. They come out of the book : Gospel of the Buddha by Paul Carus. Chapter: The Two Brahmans.

    ""Thus," replied the Buddha,

"the Tathagata knows the straight path

that leads to a union with Brahma.

He knows it as one who has entered the world of Brahma and has been born in it.

There can be no doubt in the Tathagata."

Brahma = the One imageless God of the Vedas. Brahma's those who woreship Him.

  • @Sam1kuiper Dear Sam, Paul Carus' The Gospel of Buddha is NOT an authoritative telling of the Buddha's life. Second the definition of Brahma is misleading. Brahma is the "creator" god in the hindu trinity. Brahman is the impersonal absolute godhead.

Please read The Buddha and His Teachings by Narada Thera Chapter 23 THE BUDDHA ON THE SO-CALLED CREATOR-GOD

  • I wish buddha could have met Jenny Craig back then.

didnt he die of a over weight heart attack?

  • No, the phenomenon of a fat buddha is strictly Chinese. And at that it's not even Siddhattha. It's actually Hotei. Siddhattha himself was actually probably quite thin. His death is usually attributed to accidental food poisoning.

  • Became to understand and realize the true nature of all kinds of good religions due to enlightment of sharing idea and open knowledage phenomenon
