In the Uk and in France There have been 1000's of trains running through critical weather for years...but nothing never happened.Whatever excuses the CEO is making, we just don't buy it.
Listen big man, there is people here needing to travel, so get yourself a good kick in your arse and make things happening instead of talking. I was one of the "customers" and was treated so badly...and you know what , since there is no competitors you don't give a flying f####.
Took me 3 weeks to get a compensation and even though I had to argue with the lady on the phone because she said " the train needs needed to have more than 5 hours delay" when u v been waiting for almost 8, but it doesn't mater they don;t take into account the waiting time in the waiting room. Then suddendly they agreed to give me a free return ticket stating that it was a courtesy from the company.lol, lol and lol.
Ok, but the thought still nags that this should never have happened. It does not matter what the cause was, is or will be, no passengers should ever be "stranded" in the tunnel for ONE hour, never mind SEVENTEEN. The cause here - condensation on the electrical circuits in the locos - is negligible. The catastrophe inheres entirely in the utter lack of contingency plans on the part of the operator. I understand those contingency plans are now in place, irrespective of any immediate cause.
