Comparing the HIV rates between two countries without taking into account confounding variables makes no fucking sense. The studies that show curcumcisions reduces HIV are random control trials that take into account confouding variables. RCT are a valid type of scientific experiment. There are innumerable scientific articles showing that circumcision prevents the transmission of infections - including AIDS at a level equivalent to a high efficacy vaccination. I'm a doctor and don't like transmission of bad/incomplete information.

Comparing the HIV rates between two countries without taking into account confounding variables makes no fucking sense. The studies that show curcumcisions reduces HIV are random control trials that take into account confouding variables. RCT are a valid type of scientific experiment. 1) anal reception of HIV-infected semen
2) intravenous reception of HIV-infected blood
3) vaginal reception of HIV-infected semen
Circumcision plays no role in HIV infection in Western countries. That is why circumcised US does not have lower HIV and STD rates than comparable European and Asian (Japan, Taiwan) nations.

@Tandykane Yes the results are seen in the real world. Do a pubmed search and see for yourself. There are minor risks involved, like any procedure, but the benefits far outweigh the risks. I don't cherry pick studies, I look at the trends of all studies performed and look at their methodology and the strength of their statistical methods. If you look at all studies, as I have, there are far, far more showing significant benefits.

Why yes I have--and have read the original studies--BUT, unlike many, I have done a critical analysis of them and found them scientifically lacking--studies have known and Fatal flaws, AND, more importantly, none are seen in the real world. Now I, don't know about you, but these mean that they are not scientifically credible, ie, have PROOF!

Tattooing is an ancient & "barbaric" act of mutilation still practiced today. Originally it was thought to be "healing" or have protective properties. Obviously, with modern science, we know that to be false. Even if it's voluntary, do I get to outlaw that, too? As a circumcised men, it's hard to miss something I don't remember having... I suppose if I was a bleeding heart liberal...

Male circumcision is just as barbaric as female circumcision and should be regarded as a barbaric practice. Unfortunately, in these times of blaming Muslims for everything, we point only to one side of the argument (female circumcision). It has been suggested that male circumcision of infants can lead to various psychoses, and to adult agression. The foreskin was designed, by nature (God) to protect the glans. It contains a massive concentration of nerve cells.

Not one of my sons has ever had a problem with his privates. My two older sons are in their twenties. I am my family are not Jewish.Not one of my male relatives in Europe are Circumcised. They went into surprise when they heard about Circumcision in America.
