@nined5thclick I didn't like Rush. But I like Geddy Lee's playing though. You seem to have a problem with bassists that use picks. Fingers are Jazzier and more complex. A pick is faster and cleaner more melodic(Jason) and less distorted. My favorite on fingers is Steve Harris and on a pick is Jason Newstend

@nined5thclick a pick is more melodic? using a pick or fingers doesn't affect if something's melodic or not, it all depends on what you're playing.

@fabio7890 I know. I just got a little carried away diffending Jason. Melodic would be the difference when comparing Jason and Cliff individual styles. A pick does have a sharper sound though. but cliff was a freak of nature everybody sucks compared to him. Jason is way underrated. Super talented, never lazzy, and plays his heart out each and every time.
