The U.S. unemployment rate was near 8% when Obama took office.... not quite sure how you figure he "nearly doubled" it. And tripled the deficit? According to that bastion of socialist liberal elitists known as the Heritage Foundation, Obama's deficit for 2010 - the first year for which his administration can take responsibility - will hit 1.5 trillion. Doesn't exactly dwarf the 1.4 trillion of Bush's last budget. And Bush policies plus business cycle get most of the "credit" for this one.

And understand that any moneies you or I may have received that appeared to be extra take home pay was done along with not changing any of the tax tables to reflect the supposed tax cut. Without realizing it, what Obama and the Dem's did was front load what in essense is a loan or rebate that you will have to pay back when you file your 2010 return, if you didn't adjust your withholding to reflect the changes.
