  • x5d is discontinued and i cant find it anywhere. where'd you get yours?

  • I bought it used, had much luck getting it, in the end it costed me 50 euros + my old crappy Yamaha PSR340.

I don't use preset synth leads, I make my own. About this Nord lead, I found it somewhere online, and tweaked it to my liking. I do that with all my sounds. I don't like using presets, I like to sound different.

If you can't find X5D used, try searching N364/264, they are virtually the same synths.

Don't worry about presets, try to be original and make your own leads.

  • Is it true there is a good lead on it called "solo synth?"

  • OE TA CHEVERE TIO .. PERO ENSEÑA PES ..

  • Nice job man. So does that Nord lead patch come with the keyboard?

  • Not everything you hear always comes with the keyboard. Don't look for quick fixes, sometimes you need to try real hard to get a sound like this.

  • LOL dude, dont compare a touchscreen with a pitch wheel!. Once a pitch of a karma I used broke, and i fixed buying some stuff at any electronic store. I use a korg x5d from a friend and we have fixed it many times (including pitch wheel) and is not a big deal, you can find everything at electronic store.

  • yo man does that include the caps on top of the realtime control knobs. one of the ones on my triton is a little loose lol.

  • a keyboardist MUST KNOW how to fix his instrument dude

  • well, I just don't have luck with pitch bend spring. I live in Croatia, and to get some spare parts here is impossible. I tried to make a spring on my own, it was too weak and didn't hold propertly, but it was made from a steel wire. It was not enough. Moreover, X5D is discontinued model, so getting spare parts for it is gonna be even more impossible. Also, there are some things a keyboardist COULDN'T fix on his own. Suppose your touchscreen broke. Would you repair it on your own? Cmon, dude.

  • hello

well if u are up to critics, let me do the same

didnt like the lead sounds... its not fat enough, if you know what I mean...

and the fast parts have mistakes

and when you are impro with a lead sound you should use your pitch more.

    hehe greetings

  • This lead in particular is not designed to be "fat", it's mellow and just sings when used propertly. I misused this sound here, it's not for shredding at all, and fast parts have mistakes because I never learned to improvise right, so my fingers kinda messed the whole thing. Oh, and my pitch bend wheel is broken so I don't use it as often because it would screw some more things up XD

  • how did you make the sound? I only have 3 leads i'm proud of on my X5D. This one sounds quite clean. I take it you meant using the X5's synthesis?

  • It is a bit modified preset from N364 I think, I tweaked filter envelope to be less sensitive, but it still allows for a great deal of expression. If you want I will mail you the patch :D Check out my video Vampire, it uses my own signature lead that was made entirely on the X5D, took me 3 weeks to make it :D Enjoy!

  • hello mighty dragon ^^

  • No I don't mean SOC from Dream THEATER :P

  • I sure hope you dont mean stream of conciousness by dream theatre rofl.

    good though

  • nice, nice

  • good work \m/

  • Awesome!!!
