  • Why are the bricks so far away from where you are going to lay them?

  • If you have ever had to support your family by laying bricks you are a pro. Do it for ten years solid and you master it. Yank brickies are rough as fuck. And if the nearest you've ever come to bedding one on top of two, is watching a you tube clip then you are not entitled to make any comment on this blokes technique. Course he's gotta spin the brick to get the right side out without looking and he butters both ends of the last brick in the course which is 10 out of 10 technique.

  • Why do you guys spread the whole wall first? So much slower.

  • nice video mate ! cheers :-)

  • Who the hell was this guys tender, mortar on the floor, bricks are a step away and on the ground. As for flipping the brick, nathancad is right, if you don't know what your talking about, shut up!

  • Hi, i'm a bricklayer from Canada and i'm interested in knowing what types of connectors are mostly used in the U.S. and the U.K. regardless of construction type. Wooden, concrete, blocks walls... thank you guys.

  • Hi wat is that brown thing cement or wat

  • It seems more economical to wipe that mortar off the back of the brick wall to save it and re-use it rather than just waste it. That's profits down the toilet

  • You think your better than me ay, ever wiped your ass with a brick because there was no toilet paper left in the portaloo

  • I'm the best brick layer in the universe. Why'd you flip a brick? Do you think you're cool?

  • double butter your last bricks for a full joint boys

  • clean them snots off lol

  • whats the point of flipping a fuckin brick anyway?

  • great video....post onther one please!

  • I have watched several brick laying video's and I always notice the bricks have holes in them. My father used to be a brick layer and he told me hollow bricks are not recommended, because while bricklaying you can trap moisture in those holes. If frost sets in the walls can crack because of this moisture. Now I don't know if this is really true, but maybe you can tell me? On the other hand the holes keep the bricks more firmly together.

  • @Snowwie888 in aust we have holes (extruded) in our bricks cos it saves material and we use a vennercavity which doesnt rely wholey on the brick wall it self to act as insulation .. and the manufactures are tight asses :)

  • Man dont you guys believe in planks to run on some stands so you material is at waist height not on the ground! Fire your tender!

  • boot

  • Well I have been laying for 25 years and my back hurts. I had to get red of waisted motion so I wouldnt crumble to the earth.

  • Two naaa three things.. Good clip of a good bricklayer, funny spins lol!! I love lookin fancy as much as the next guy..American Bricklayers get more chicks...jtflmustard....there is only one real mustard..peace!!

  • where is ur tender an why do you have to walk across the job to get a brick...

  • hell yes from one brickie to another..... where is that bitch

  • he seems decent to me and certainly doesnt need any tips off stupid americans who have nowhere near the same skill level as british bricklayers that is probably why you build you shitty houses out of flat pack wood

  • 1. it is a 9 inch solid wall so no cavity, you gotta be pretty thick to say its a cavity wall ha ha as for the muck on the back that will be tidied up when he switches sides. 2. the brick flipping as explained earlier he was doing it as a joke, also sometimes necessary to flip because of chips in the brick etc. 3. about the mortar board as you can tell he was laying engineering bricks for the damp proof course judging by the amount of bricks he had left it was the last course anyway

  • i can tell everyone posting negative comments on this are a little bit thick especially the yanks. wo has ever seen or heard of a good american bricklayer you are jokes, i have worked with maybe 20 yanks only one was any good roughest cunts in the world standards are nowhere near ours in england for speed or finish. English bricklayers world reknown wanted everywhere around the world except funnily enoughour own country ha ha,prefer polish chocolate makers instead. back to the points though

  • i can't wait to become a good bricklayer one day.:P

  • all the crap goin down the cavity lols

  • good technique , you're buttering up the right side of the brick

  • you have to butter both ends of the brick brah!

  • wow what a fucking shity ass job you guys dont no how to brick lay for shit.

  • rough cunt

  • haha cowboy brickies dese days

  • Can´t stop reading his Comment over and over again.

  • Please be quiet!

michaelflorida48 has his "own successful bricklaying practice"

And is called a "brickartist" by more people than you even know."

    AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAR!

  • yeh, tough on the hands too.he seems quite pleased the last one fitted,:)

  • Bad Habit Flipping in your hand you do that 400 times a day you could of layed another 100 bricks time is everything in bricklaying dont get money for doing nothing

  • he was only flipping for a laugh, I was taking the piss out of him thinking he mixing a cocktail, not laying bricks. when I took the piss he did it even more, just funny man

  • Comment removed

  • @tjpvc123 jus coz u probs cant do it lool

  • @tjpvc123 even a brickies asshole knows you flip a brick after picking it up to get the face of the brick, facing out before you lay it. Its easier to flip the brick after you pick it up than fucking around and twisting your wrists all day. Your obviously not a brick layer

  • @nathancad

Or.....drum roll.... you get the labourer to stack them properly to start with then there is no spinning......boom tish........

  • @tjpvc123 well the time you wasted trying to tell someone else how to do there fucking job on youtube you could of layed 200 bricks you cunt hahah....time is money!

  • when you trim the snots off butter the brick youve just layed with them it will increase your speed and can cut down on bending a helluva lot over the day

  • why do you idiots have the mortar board on the frigging ground all the time???? geezus

  • Post up a video of you laying brick, sunshine! Who are you to call this guy an idiot?

  • I'll tell you EXACTLY who I am, I've had my own successful bricklaying practice for 30 years. I won a state bricklaying contest, I've been called a "brickartist" by more people than you even know and common sense would tell you to put the mortar board up on a stand or something to save your back from hundreds of unnecessary movements. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS SUNSHINE?

  • Good for you, amigo. There's a nicer, more civilized way to express the information above without calling someone an idiot. Common sense would tell you that, tough guy.

  • @michaelflorida48

cock so when your first setting out and your on your 2nd course hving too keep bending up to get pug yer nice

    not

  • i have 2 from ma dad who was a superb brickie, both r marshall town, one he had for 15 years and he wore it down to as sharp as a stanley knife, its a little small now but wicked for doing facing work, especially piers etc

  • Cool. I use my 11 1/2 for everything now. I'm thinking of buying a 10" for brick and using the 11 1/2 for block. We got an 8" block baseball dugout job comin up over summer for a local middle school. Pretty excited lol

  • well the trowel looked like a marsaltown

  • I use a Marshalltown 11 1/2 London. Wouldn't trade anything for it....wbu?

  • im an apprentice and im not one to judge at the moment but i swear ur spose to clear the back off coz it cavity wall init

  • yes for a cavity wall, but this was just a container wall so there was 2 levels of soil in a garden. he did a great job for a garden wall - very solid and tidy on the sides that are not buried with soil.

  • @kraftwerkmod yeah but its good pratice to keep it clear snots or no snot. plus you could use it for your pirps, saves turning round to get it from board

  • You have to clean up the backside too for a good job.

  • Will not survive after an earthquake !

You do it like a pig !

  • Not to bad, but to many moves. Next time put the god damn camera on a tripod and have your friend hold that fucking mortar broad up for you, LOL and move those fucking bricks closer. If you do this for a living you won't be laughing down the road. From a dumb ass mason from Chicago. Johnson & Johnson 2'' athletic tape is the best to protect those little pinkies, LOL. Later

  • the muck on the back of the wall is a disgrace! your obviously well rough and a tip if you want save your back would be to put the spot board on a couple of blocks! prick.....

  • I love the humility of the end of this video, it shows little skill, but much (like I said, HUMILITY) and slight bravery. Given, this seems to be a small job, possibly a side job, I giggle at the slap method of trying not to waste mortar.

  • I can't like that when I'm laying forward...I always gota butter the brick I just laid and lay the next one down....look like it works well for you tho

  • could of cleaned the snots off mate, cavity wall n all

  • There sure are alot of angry haters that post comments on these brickie videos. Nothing wrong with your skills dude, nice job!

  • its not me laying. you are right everyone thinks they know better. this guy did a great job, quick and dead straight. no complaints

  • help mate if you put mortar on your BRICK" save you having to go back and fill joints in KNOB! how not to lay a brick

  • the bricks are miles away. poor sod he`s gonna get a bad back wiv that hoddy.

  • he`ll be alright. he showed me a trick with putting tape round your thumb so it doesnt make it sore when you keep picking up the bricks.

  • don't you have a mud stand or did the mexicans steal them????????????

  • its indians in theses ere parts, great kebabs and currys though

  • Is there a bricky video you haven't left a comment about mexicans on, bricks1964?

Sort your life out. Maybe the Native Indians could say the same about you. And considering the Mexicans are more closely related to the native Americans, I think you should STFU.

  • wtf is this? i lay brick like that EVERY FUCKING DAY!!! who gives a shit. whoopty friggin do guy. your actually kind of a BOOT!!! looser

  • dude why does this upset you so much, you must be an ass hole or have some kind of strange relationship with your mother
