  • i need to go there

  • wat a waste

  • This must be a map in the next Call of Duty

  • If they refurnished the whole place it would be one of the freaking tourist attraction than just a coal mine....

  • where is part 2?

  • Very interesting! Thanks for sharing.

  • I want to put this on a game

  • @xcom2009 then start a game company, lol

  • i wanna go there so badly

  • ahh 240p, we meet again

  • Please call of futy map!!!

  • @MrHunk255 (not) Funny.... This is a ghost island you know that

  • Watch for supermutants!

  • @Xalinos ψήσου να πάμε εκεί να φάμε πιτόγυρα ...

  • It was a coal mining community until the 70s, when the coal mines began closing down.

  • wtf happened there

  • instead of daring your friends to have a sleepover at old man derp's house, houbout a whole fucking week in this island?

  • @signaturemover that would be intense!!!

  • it must be very depressive living in a place like this (especially for children).looking ay the pictures of this "ghost" island is depressive as well !

  • this looks just like Pirpyat. I like places like this they are cool to look at since nothing really has been moved or anything left the way it was.

  • @BM4A Yeah, my first thought also went to Prypjat. Scary and interesting at the same time.

  • @ShiekahTribe well, it aint scary, just packed with radiation, perfect for playing real life combat arms in!!!

  • @BM4A Two among many towns that make me very sad

  • this place and pirpyat are an excellent example for what the aftermath of ww3 be like

  • one night in Hashima

i will go there soon hehe

  • Hey, where are the other parts?

(The "opening song" is: The Cinematic Orchestra - All That You Give)

  • Just imagine making a horror movie there.....

  • somebody knows what is this song?please tell me the artist and song name, thanx a lot!!! it sounds awesome

  • I can't find Part 2 although it is extremely interesting...

  • I heard that you have to sign a contract to visit it or something :-/ . And you can only visit it in 160 days of the year because of bad weather conditions. It's one of the worlds creepest places... i would love to visit it, i'd be shitting myself though!

  • @CHARLAINEproductions the only reasen i would shit myself there is if i fell from the top of one of the dilapedated buildings or worse into the sea

  • Ever since I saw photos of this place on some site (can't remember the name) I've wanted to visit this island. I'd love to just walk around and take pictures. Abandoned locations and buildings have always fascinated me, but Gunkanjima takes the price. It's just something else. An entire island where thousands of people lived and worked. I keep thinking about people who lived there and where they are today, if they're still alive.

  • that would make one awesomeeee paintball park!!

  • なんでこんなに奇妙な編集してるの?

  • @ 3:15 "I always come back here" WTF, I thought it was illegal.

  • If I had a choice to live in Hashima or Kowloon Walled City I would totally pick Hashima, at least it looks clean...

  • part 1¿ and the ohers?

  • damn this islands like a small city fortress they bassically had all the necesistys they needed, i think they should tear hashima down and make it into a water park, tht would be crazy

  • this place should remain abandoned... there should only be rental boats that you can go there...

  • What is sad and scary is that most of countries of today depend on coal and similar resources... What will happen when it runs out,we will see...

  • id literally shit my pants if i woke up there

  • lol i bet to those people, far away was like walking a cm

  • NEXT PLACE FOR THE BEST HORROR FILM...

  • I wonder if those "urban ruins" scenes from Inception were based on this island?

  • it's already closed isnt it?

  • Where is part 2..?

  • behold the ultimate paintball arena

  • @marcuspinson haha I got a good laugh from that. It was exactly what I was thinking.

  • @MrBertnoternie thnks

  • @marcuspinson You should check out videos of Chernobyl. Also perfect for Paintball, or Airsoft (my preference).

  • @marcuspinson You should check out videos of Chernobyl. Also perfect for Paintball, or Airsoft (my preference).

  • @MrBertnoternie HELL NO that place is STILL radioactive

(and i like my bits 'n peices to all function properly)

  • Imagine sleeping in one of the creepy old buildings... O_O

  • The TV ... at midnight it will turn on itself ... even without power supply ...jk jk^^ ... wow the whole place hv kind a melancholic atmosphere... btw i wonder if in coming decades or centuries some of the current megacities gonna become like this or not...

  • part two?

  • YEEEEEY IT IS IN SWEDISH!

  • First: Where I can find the second part?

Second: It's possible to visit this island? It's open to the public? Thank you!

  • @MariehamnDe It has since been opened for tours now

  • Are there any good books about the history of this island and what it was like to live there? I am really fascinated with this place!

  • Approaching the island, it looks like Alacatraz,

  • впечатлило...

  • unbelievable

  • it would be great to play Counter Strike Paint Ball in there.

  • the real Yamijima Island of siren 2 cool!

  • yes, the stairs at 3:45..mamoru first mission :)

  • someone needs to make a game with this as the 1st map :3

  • @industryfails they sorta have lol the game Forbidden Siren 2 or Siren 2 in US and JP, the island is based on this island "stairway to hell" is in a few levels. so weird seeing it in real life, i wana go so bad now just cus its on Siren 2 lol

  • @industryfails there are about 3 games set there

  • @industryfails Garry's Mod has a map of this.

  • @CamelBallZee Holy shit seriously? may valve be praised.

  • @KLSOLDIER Valve didn't make the level, a modder did.

  • @industryfails Forbidden Siren 2?

  • It was re-opened in 2009 for visitations. I intend to go in there. Looks like a japanese horror film scenario.

A wonderful place, full of history and an evidence of how human being constructions can completely disappear as time goes by.

  • how the fuck do u find part 2. ????????? i hate when u cant find the other videos on youtube, daaaaaaaam

  • dude, i was thinking paintball too haha

  • Brilliant!

  • its like fallout 3 in japan

  • this is really exciting ...i love these kinds of videos...

  • Perfect place for a paintball tourny

  • 確かに、此処は"故郷"って言うより、帰れる場所

  • Myself and some friends of mine are into Urban Exploring. We like to go into old tunnelsystems, abanoned old factorys and such. This would probably be the dream place to explore around in. :) Just marvelous ^^

  • Me too. Damn, wish I had more friends like you. I usually go it alone. First I'll read up a bit on old local buidlings and even some ghost towns and occasionally visit inside them if and when I can. Something about looking back in time that's enthralling and facinating, relating the events of history with what I'm actually seeing ... Not to mention feels just plain fun and completely free being somewhere I probably shouldn't be!

There must be an online club or something somewhere, :D

  • We have a group on facebook with all our pics in. :P from different places. XD

Feel free to join it if you want. :) can write to me there if you like. ^^

  • IRL Fallout 3

  • Actually, IRL Forbidden Siren 2.

The abandoned buildings look so much alike, I bet the producers of that horror game for the PS2 went to the island themselves to look for ideas.

  • aaaw how adorable it looks, It seems just perfect for a picnic day!!!!!

  • Actually, it's my house.

    Lol, I wish... ;)

Picnic at my place eh? BYO food.

  • were there cars on that island when people lived there?

  • No, the place is so small there wouldnt be any point.

  • I think that your idea of the place is way more romantic that what it was in reality. I bet it was quite a dirty place with nothing special happening compared to any other industrial town.

Still it's a very interesting place.

  • i found it on google earth... =w= bad pic quality tho. it's cool.

  • Awesome. Great upload. Thanks.

  • Part 2 ---- copy & paste

Ilha de Hashima (Hashima Island) 2

  • i think a japanese rock band despairsray shot thie video squall on Hashima Island

  • It reminds me of Silent Hill..

  • I totally thought the same thing

  • scary and spooky as fuk

  • great place! now get on to another...

  • I really want to visit this amazing place...

  • where is part 2 ?

  • I'm also looking for it and cant find it =/

  • would love to explore this place, would be wicked for my media trailer

  • I went to this island four years ago to pass it with the fishing boat. It is that the Shinto shrine is in the top of the hill on the island that I was impressive. The Shinto shrine throned in looking down at all of the island. I visited some famous ruins in Japan and Italy(For instance, Venezia is ruins used. I think that ruins are time machines. Japan lost the look of old Japan at the war and the high growth period. Ruins are doors to the past.

  • Hashima.... the city that struggles to exist....

    I'm so scared....

  • 将来のドバイだな

  • ドバイの将来では・・・

  • Jif Kitchen was here!

  • no,traveling to this island is prohibited.

i suppose this island would be a good setting to film a post-apocalyptic movie

  • Thanks for this video. I want to point out one minor error. When he says in subtitle that he came to island when he was 4 years old, in Japanese what he says translates to 'Grade 6', so he was 10-11 years old I assume.

  • Great documentary, the music goes perfectly with the scenes, amazing. Looks sort of sinister place, but at the same time a relaxing place to go at day time of course.

  • Is this on DVD? I would really be interested in buying it!

  • I so badly want to go there, but it's not possible right? :( Also, is it like possible to get a tour around there?

  • It´s hard nowadays, because they have more or less closed off the island, due to "renovation". They might open it up as a "museum", sadly... one where people will be seeing the island from new, ugly, walkways around the island. But nevertheless I don´t think it´s impossible to rent a boat in Nagasaki and go out there. But be prepared to run if the coast guard sees you!

    Thomas

  • this is roughly what

    creacrea2008 commented

If立CHI退ITA here are the things he does not return to the island warship,

No,帰RENAI. Look at the island's symbol of high-rise apartments,

    How do you think?

  • @BeauNL 10% of the island is open to the public and you can only go there 190 days out of the year due to weather so if you get stuck,no one will come :P

  • @BeauNL It is apparently possible to visit there again according to Wikipedia. The public is once again allowed to visit it.

  • I so badly want to go there, but it's not possible right? :( Also, is it like possible to get a tour around there?

  • this is fantastic! abandoned places absolutely fascinate me for some reason, and I have a particular interest in Gunkanjima and Chernobyl. truly amazing that everything has just been left there. :]

  • ここを立ち退いた方々は、もう軍艦島に帰る事はない、

    いや、帰れない。高層アパートが象徴の島を見て、

    何を思われているのか・・・

  • It would be so great to be able to read the comments I get from Japan, but unfortunately none of my near friends can read it. But thank you for writing something here anyway!

    Thomas Nordanstad

  • dude you can find a thing on google to translate the comments i forgot what its called tho

  • Google Translate perhaps?

  • yup i wish i could speak japanise though

  • Same here.

  • The music that plays at the beginging is from Full Metal Jacket, isnt it? Could you send me the song?

  • It has been translated by a professional translator, it is only in the different edits the slight discrepancy shows up... Thanks again!!

    Thomas

  • That is not exactly what he's saying. The subtitles aren't 100% correct.

  • Thanks for your comment!

Please let me know of any discrepancies in the translation. Swedish television have done the translating. Thanks!

    Thomas

  • so sad, thanks for this video

  • In this case it just seems like everyone just... left. There wasn't a disaster like Centralia.

  • a coincidence: i know of three towns related to cole mining wich where abandoned by their inhabitants warship island, Pyramiden (russia) and Centralia (pensylvania) look them up at wikipedia if you want to

  • pyramiden is in sweden, not russia.

  • woot sry i guess i got my infos worng

  • Pyramiden is in Svalbard, former Russia, now Norway.

    Thomas Nordanstad

PS. Thanks for commenting on my film!

  • Pyramiden, one of four mining settlements on the Svalbard archipelago, was established in 1910 by Sweden and named after the pyramid-shaped mountain rising above it. Norway has sovereignty over the archipelago, but the Svalbard Treaty of 1920 ensures all signatory parties equal access to scientific and economic activities in the islands.

    fair enough.

  • Great info. Thanks, didn´t know that. I saw images on the web, and the sculpture of Lenin seems to be one of the few remaining things there, right? I am always interested in new ideas, so do you think it can be worth a visit?

    All the best,

    Thomas

  • hell, why not. i visited Chernobyl last year and i don't think any ghost town can top that, but it's worth a shot.
