3) Additionally, we do know via Canon Law documents, etc. that clerical abuse seems to have been a problem prior to 1000AD.

Also the doctrine of the early church is the same doctrine of the catholic church. Please do some independent research rather than rely on what you hear from others.

@22grena There was no such thing as the Roman Catholic Church as we now know it nor of its central governance, the Vatican, until the Council of Nicea in 325AD, called & chaired by the pagan Constantine. Just because someone used a word which may be translated as 'catholic' (i.e. universal) has nothing to do with said entity.

Here is a better idea: repent & believe in the Gospel, which has its true core in the Sermon on the Mount.

He did extensive research into clerical sexual immorality & child abuse & wrote of it, presenting his findings to the pope. SO many kids have been hurt over centuries; who then either lead shattered lives or marry & abuse their own kids. Worse, many of the abused were groomed for the priesthood to become intergenerational abusers.
