I always thought it was disappointing to have Scorpion and Sub Zero killed by Cage and Liu Kang since they were every kid's favorite characters. Guess the script couldn't held anymore background stories like Scorpion and Sub Zero's epic despise towards each other and they just plain made them bad guys.
