  • This place caught up just the other day, Saturday. it was burning quite a while before it was called in. Lake ridge, new chicago, east chicago, and merrillville assisted

  • Its disturbing to me how all your videos involve fire. *Suspicous face*

  • What the hell was the fence made of that it took them 5 minutes to cut through?

  • cant they use the ladder truck to shot water from the street as they cut thur the fence

  • i liked watching the fat ass guy walking around with his finger stuck up his ass and then the other idiot running around up n down the road in the brush truck make fat ass do domething besides walk around with a scott pack on

  • were those just stacked up cars?

  • where are the guys talking about an 7:25?

  • sounds like you need a new blade on your saw

  • it a wonder theres anything left in gary indiana! thumbs up if you saw the others

  • thats gotta be the toughest fucking fence ever!

  • Someone trying to put it out with a leaf blower lol jk

  • WOOF! XD

  • how did it start

  • @MegaAndrewn They said spontaneous combustion......

  • what was that loud noise at the starrt of the video please answer

  • @MegaAndrewn That was the saw cutting the fence to gain access to the fire

  • So much for carbon credits! Just a nice tire fire.

  • where is explosions?

  • should have raised the ladder and hit that fire from the top. those explosions are small propane tanks cooking off.

  • lol, thats one way to separate the plastic from the metal when recycling cars!!

  • do u like jus go lookn for fires?

  • @lance987654321 Nope, I work and have a family. Just a hobby

  • @mabas21 i thought u were a reporter

  • @lance987654321 Na, no money to be made doing that. The media people are cheap!

  • wow you have a ladder truck and your worring about cutting the fence put the wet stuff on the hot stuff

  • @DEERE515 what way is the wind blowing....really what vol dept are you on?

  • @DEERE515 Einsteen, you have to be able to get the water TOO the fire to put it on it. Junkyards are notorious for bad access. As you can see, they are going into the wind. Even with a ladder, you lose distance with strong winds.

  • where was the red car speeding by going to? what the purpose of brush truck 6 and where ws the foam going too? also do you have more footage of this fire and do you have any of the greenmount terminal fire in new york?

  • @homeyroberts The red car was a chief and he was going to another part of the scene, there were multiple places where firefighters were applying water. The brush truck is actually an airport rig, they brought the foam to us on the fire, where it was actually used though I have no clue. I have about 40 minutes of footage from this fire and I only shoot in NW Indiana and some of Illinois. No NY footage

  • we had a fire like this about 6 years ago here i washington state man soon as it gets going it is hard to put them out in ground up metal piles

  • Is that Summit by chance? Awesome job with the vids!

  • wow must have been a pain in the ass to cut thru

  • Man, I was just checking for local Youtube videos and stumbled into this by chance really. As it turns out, I was driving westbound on 94 right then. So that's where all that thick black smoke was coming from!

  • Local, I have local and tons of it. The smoke was seen from Porter County and Illinois.

  • Reminds me of a huge scrap yard fire just a couple miles from my house in 2006. Was on my way home from doing some shopping when the call came in on my scanner. At first I didnt see much smoke, and the IC said they think they can control it. Within minutes it looked like a nuclear bomb had went off and mutual aid was being called like crazy. They were on scene in some fashion for 24+ hours. Was stacks of crushed cars that burnt.

  • Man, that is some dangerous smoke. Don't breathe that shit in.

  • why didnt the owner of the junk yard let the fire crews in rather than forcing them to cut down part of the fence. Does the fire department care that you are there filming the fire?

  • Cutting the fence was the Fire Departments second way in, they were already set-up in the junkyard itself. 90% of the departments have no problem with me filming

  • doesnt gary have a air port crash truck that they can use to dump foam, and not use handlines due to the explosions ?

  • The airport is right next to the junkyard believe it or not, I was told the crash trucks can not leave the airport property due to faa regulations. I don't know how it works out here, in Illinois I know they can go to scenes like this if they are requested

  • simple, send a crash truck from IL!!!

  • Great Job Filming This Incident

  • Mutual Aid, what's that?? HA! Nice video, that fence looked like a b*ch!

  • What is that noise (bang) that we hear at 2:59?

  • There were non-stop explosions coming out of that pile, it was fluff, which is the biproduct of cars after they have been ground-up. I was told most of the pile was fom the cash fo clunkers campaign

  • I could assume many of the explosions could be from seatbelt pretensioners or airbags. They contain a small charge. This is just an assumption.

  • man i was done after that...that was like 1/4 in gauge steel for a fence...It would keep just about anyone out

  • Check back for the most recent, 2300 block of Bell. All I have to say is OH MY GOD!

  • there was only one point of entry so we had to create another point

  • And did a hell of a job doing it, although I really want a fence like that one for my house. Nobody would ever get on my property!

  • would they not let them in, or was there just noone there?

  • We just made another door to attack it from that side

  • oh, ok thanks for the info!!
