Kritter Weiss. I recognized him in this video. He's at Skydive Spaceland right now, and I've had the privilege to take a few coach jumps with him. He is one of the most relaxed and fun on the planet. Thanks for your visit with us this past weekend. Hope you got to try my salsa!!!!
Hey, the groundlaunch stuff is great fun - as long as you launch from really big and steep mountains!!! You guys should get a Gin bobcat or a BioAir SKIM12 (that's what I fly). Will give you more air time and those wings are just as agile as a skydican...
Hey mate. Great video. Would you recommend ground launching to get stable under canopy and learn how to control it before you ever jump out of a plane? Or what would you recommend doing?
Learn Skydiving first to learn basic canopy controls with nine section canopys away from such obsictles as hills like on this vid, then get a 7 section canopy which are used in base jumping, practice using the canopy skydiving and get used to it then ground launch
I recently ground launched my Spectre 190 at Pacific City, Or. Now I'm heading to Eloy to jump that same rig. I am curious if I should do anything (clean or?) after exposing the canopy to the salty air and sand? I tried to shake all the sand out, but I am sure there's still a little remaining in the pack job. I would really appreciate your input!
try kiting the wing upside down in moderate wind, use a lot of brake to get the wing off the ground then shake it using the risers, this should clear any debris quickly and effieciently!
Awesome! I intend to do GL very soon. Actually I´m collecting some writen material to plan it. I´m flying a Stileto 120, and have 68Kg. Which canopies are you using? Any tips? To take off, must hold the rear risers and run like hell? What kind of wind? Light wind to inflate the canopy is better than no wind? I wonder if you could answer those questions. Cheers!
Dudes. Go get a DHV1/LTF1 Paraglider. The progenetors of paragliding had done those stunts for us back in the 1980s.They re rigged skydiving canopies back then.
Actually, having flown many paragliders, both modern and old, I have found that both flight vehicles have merit. Paragliders have more efficiency for sure, but the speed and maneuverability of an elliptical skydiving canopy is a thing unto itself. Don't knock it 'till you try it!! :)
Yeah Dude. This is an awesome video. Its fun to watch how skydiving gave birth to paragliding. A portion of paragliding is now going back to skydiving with d-bags and balloon jumps.I guess family ties cannot be broken. Take care dude. Have fun.
