@wilmaohman It is most gratifying to have received your comment on this. It seemed as if I had made a mistake in choosing a compositon made famous by such egregious singers as the Statlers. They were highy respectable and distinguished musicians with vocal arrangements which no other has been able to re-create or improve upon. @Laura53978 Laura, il est très difficile de rivaliser avec les Statler Brothers qui, eux, étaient quatre! Lorsque j'ai eu fini avec ce que je savais faire, le soulagement m'a empêché d'aller plus loin et j'ai laissé la chanson telle quelle. Le dernier "bébé" est en train de souffrir au forceps et bien que j'aie trouvé les voix, une guitare et la basse, il me reste à maîtriser la steel et une deuxième guitare. To know that you have been pleased gives me great pleasure; perhaps what took longest was running around finding all those photographs of roses and remembering to include the engraving of "Rose" on the back of the sewing box. No, I am being a little economical with the truth there. The most time was spent on finding guitar licks for the last track. However, there's no beating the Statler Brothers, and not just because there are four of them!

Si ce lit de Rose te plaît, c'est grâce à Fred qui a insisté pour que je trouve quelques licks supplémentaires sur une troisième guitare pour ne pas laisser l'ensemble trop plat. L'effet sera, je l'espère, cathartique, pour la reprise de la steel dans une autre chanson - j'ignore laquelle - et une étude plus poussée et plus fine de ce qui pourrait venir à ma rencontre depuis ces cordes que je dois apprendre à ne plus malmener.
I have loved this song since I first heard the Statlers do it many years ago.Well done!
