  • This song helped me survive a breakup.

  • @razanell It is a little weird isn't it? LOL!

  • I love Jody and this song, but this video is SCARY!

  • What a flashback, now here's a name and eyes i remember! she was frickjing hot back then! oooopps, and now

  • She came out before Janet Jackson. But the music sound like Janet Jackson song, (Control) Sound like musicians Jimmy jam and terry lewis.

  • She came out before Janet Jackson. But the music sound like Janet Jackson song, (Control)

  • theres a lot of pathetic people on here

if you say 'anything' thats not liked - you get barred from replying

  • This is vintage 1980's. This tune hit no. 1 back in 1987. Jodie was pumping out one hit after another off her debut solo album in the mid/late 80's. Some folks don't realize she got her start as a Soul Train dancer in the 1970's. Then got with Shalamar in the late 70's to early 80's. Then she went solo. Jody was around before Janet Jackson. I don't know why folks are comparing the two. Two different artists and women. And Please no Lady GaGa comparisons. Gaga is no Madonna either.

  • check out --crane shine --- crane cloud nine -- on you tube i always like the bridge of this song before the chorus (new love trk)

  • check out --crane shine --- crane cloud nine -- on you tube

  • I thought i was her when i was a teen... loved her dance style! Soul Train to shalamar.... i mimicked her dances.... music like this just is obsolete it seems!

  • Oh I loved her back in the day. Unbelievably beautiful. Nice dance music too and a fine voice. Pity though that when her music career declined she posed for Playboy and had plastic surgery. What a shame.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAAA

  • The editing is.....is...looooose...

  • does anyone kno where i can down load the instrumental of this song? for free or not? please let me know! i really want to make a song cover of this! i love this song lolz ^-^

  • i love this song! it is so perfect! i don't know y but i can't help singing, speaking, grunting from hasta la vista baby thru hasta la vista baby!

  • Anybody think she looks like Downtown Julie Brown?

  • @antigoniem06 Wubba! Wubba! Wubba!

  • @antigoniem06 Yep, same exquisite triangular face shape.

  • You've got to appreciate the Cindy Lauper "Girls just Want To Have Fun" dance moves in this video, all Jody needed was a black wool fedora hat to go with that crinoline skirt and the boots (although the black top hat at 4:08 works too) to complete the ensemble. C'est la vie, Jody!

  • what was like being the only us babe on band aid 84?

  • @davidmarc09 Kool & The Gang was there too.

  • Work it Jody!!!

  • She was gorgeous.....

  • @sodiumoxybate "was"? SHE STILL IS GORGEOUS!!!!!

  • solo....................

  • solo..............................

  • you tell she spent a lot of time in the uk in 80's,she as has got it right on with her fashions, diva

  • KMD

  • She still look the same after all these years. Man music really fuckin change since back then. Now u gotta have a bangin body and shit in order to have a good video. What happen to r and b.

  • Great video! Loved it then, and it gets my bestest love now.

  • find new love now and meet someone special

    try findnewlove(.)tk

  • Gorgeous!!!!!

  • i felt jody was more original than today's artists. this is my anthem. :)

  • My mom got me likn this song

  • @cardiactorcher t

ell yer mom i think she must be hot for luving this chune

  • Jody was Hot, and her talent was undeniable. On another note if u look very closely at this video, it appears to have masonic influences, from the squares on the floor to the pyramids that keep coming up even the fire. But its very dark, and does not make much sense, peep the fire at the end, and the guy running away. Growing up, i never thought about these things, but they just dont make any sense and why are their not any dark skin guys in the video

  • great song !!!

  • caught her in concert, she is bad and fine,up in jersey

  • CLASSIC JAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the one that started Jody's solo career. She was so ahead of her time. She was fantastic. There was and still is nobody and I mean no one like Jody Watley.

  • luv it, I am getting old!

  • I love this still ; )

  • @Dancing Spiderman, he does look like Val Kilmer but I don't think so. Jody is so talented. This video is so artistic and ahead of its' time. I wish videos nowadays are more simple and artistic like this one.

  • Q: Is the white boy Val Kilmer?

  • Outfits are genius.

  • well grandam1999 u hadn't been looking hard enough... seek and ye shall find!

  • she always had a cute commercial voice, but this is so janet jackson... not sure who came first Jodey or Janet.

  • Not really, Janet didn't put on her sexy image until a little later. In that respect Jody was a bit ahead of Janet. I love them both and they seem to be getting compared alot on different sites lately. I see some similarities but I feel like they are two very different women.

  • If you look at Janet old Shows appearence on Dick Clark singing "young love she only moved her shoulders. Videos from 'Control and Miss Ya Much" she dance can of hard like a man Her Sexy appeal did come until "Love will do without You".

  • I've been looking for this 'extended' version of the music video for ages now. Thanx for posting it. :)

  • I wanted to look just like her when I was a teen!

  • yeah I still want to look like here.........but my drag skills are still poor..

  • @spottydog4477 It's practise, practise, practise!!

  • LOL!

  • "Now you're like the rest, unworthy of my best....asta la vista baby" CLASSIC! Jody always did her own thing and her style was so original. Music today has gone straight in the toilet & videos aren't even creative anymore. Jody looks fabulous, this song will never get old.

  • @hellonow32 good song but i dont know about this being original lol. the same poses seen over and over again. the same message as all the female rnb songs we hear year after year "ur not good enough for me... blah blah blah...." push the gay guy whos tied in the chair.... blah blah blah.... etc etc...

  • @hellonow32 hasta la vista*

  • what are the lyrics to this song

  • @grubeci lol just listen 2 what she says :D

  • they say - from tv - that holding a big glass of champagne or wine is class - but I don't define success as drinking rotten flute out of a flute....what is the ne plus ultra?

  • she has kitty kat eyes

  • This is for John who wants to go back to 87

  • JODY!!! Loved this..."a new love yea, yea, yea"!

  • Beautiful Jody Watley, it was fun being in our prime together...........

  • You go girl................

    great tune :)

  • Sexiest woman on the planet!

  • HOT! HOT! HOT! Jodie doin Jodie. In her prime. Luv her here more than in Shalamar!!

  • her classic hoops(:

  • thats whats up.

  • This was Jody in her prime doing Jody at her best. She was so beautiful and talented. We danced and vogued our behinds off to Jody Watley Music. They changed the rules at the Grammy's for Jody Watley to win Best New Artist even though she was with Shalamar. Remember Cyndi Lauper won for Best New Artist even though she was in the group Blue Angel. Whitney Houston was disqualified because she had sang with several people before her debut album. Thanks for the post and the memories.

  • @laarbe She IS beautiful and talented. Deserved the Best New Artist Grammy as the dark horse and non lead singer who came from the darkness into the light!

  • Jody Whatley's sister is Porn star Midori

  • you would know!!

    jp.

  • I'm just a cornacoppalla OF knowledge

    Just a fun fact

  • @sixnawlins Who cares? Jody WATLEY ROCKS! She is a Music Icon and Pioneer. Learn the legacy - especially how to spell.

  • bobbies braun went on mad donnas doing :-)) the yob!

  • she wrote a great break up anthem, all of her songs have meaning and she's way more than a pretty face i still love her new music in 2009 she's a real artist

  • Jody Watley was 1987's Grammy Award Winning Best New Artist.

  • This is the song to play when dumping someone who has taken you for granted or even cheated on you. I LOVE IT!! Jody is THE BEST!! You go girl!!

  • I remember when she won best new artist and they were going to take it away cuz she was in shalamar

  • Best part about jody is she could really sing and REALLY dance.

  • Pick me!

  • I love her outfit, I need it for my 80's party. I'm suprised hoopskirts haven't come back yet.

  • I know it's wrong to judge people based on their appearance, but Jody Watley is one of the most beautiful singers ever. She is totally sexy.

  • Wow she is so sexy

  • sound like Janet/pebbles/TLC/Paula adual/Vanessa Williams/ Latoya Jackson/also 3lw lol.

  • Jody is the best hands down

  • Jody is way better then Rihanna.

  • Well yeah just like Van Halen ios bettet than nickleback.

  • @thanhbites I'll take Jody over Rihanna anyday!

  • @mackbee628 Jody can sing and she looks better !!!

  • There was a time when she was as hot as Lady GaGa is today, one hit after another.

  • @daccini lady ga ga is not hot.

  • Unworthy of my Best, or anything for that matter ..

  • she was at the time hipper than the hip

  • "My love was true, until you threw it all away... but now you're like the rest.. unworthy of my best." -Love this song.

  • what a chick!

and music also was not so bad.....she 's dissapeared beside

  • this joint is hot i wasn't even born yet but i digg this

  • What a great song, loved it back in the day and it still sounds fantistic.Jody was so damn hot too!! 5* + fav

  • 13 was so long ago.oh the innocence before love hurt!:)

  • They just don't make music like this anymore.

  • i still have this on cassette tape LOL

  • I LOVE this song !!! I remember dancing in the shower to this tape and spraining my ankle.. but, I still went out that nite :) a little Jack Daniels would heal all .. hahahaha.

  • Ultimate Cut from Jody Watley. For the longest time, I thought this was by Paula Abdoul, LOL. Nothing like being fooled as a kid.

  • Super babe- Jody watley

  • my favorite jody watley song!!!

  • esses anos 80 que maravilha que foi hein iiiiiuuuuu

  • e esses anos 80 que blz hein

  • Why is this video still so much fun to watch?! Lol..I loved this song as a little girl...VH1..lmao...

  • Me too! I made up a corny dance and everything LOL!!

    :)

  • This was the song and video that started her solo career and she blasted right off. This song was everywhere and in all the dance clubs. She is so beautiful and talented. I remember when she won the Grammy for best new artist and everyone said she should not of been nominated because she was already out with Shalamar. I always loved her look and style. She could work a runway. And her hair was legendary. Remember when she cut it off. Thanks for the post.

  • I love this video and the song! This was the bomb when it came out in the 80's! Jody was a terrific dancer and she was captivating to watch on tv! She was one of the original Soul Train dancers! I am glad she went solo! She is also a Grammy winner! She was a lot of fun to watch, and she enjoyed what she was doing! She seemed to be having so much fun dancing and prancing around! Hasta la vista baby! Love this sister!

  • Now this is the kind of pop heroine I love (and mourn)--a strong, sexy, GROWN woman doing her thing, dancing it up and getting into the song and and confident enough in her own talent/ allure to know she doesn't have to slut herself up to hold anyone's attention.

Jody, baby, I'm a perfectly straight white chick, but I've no problem whatsoever saying: you + me, anywhere, anytime, anyhow.

  • Okay, Is that Val Kilmer at 1:24...If not, The Dude totally could be his twin.

  • I was just watching Vh1 Classic, and this video appeared. This is definitely a lil' gem from the past. Jody was definitely something to watch as she pranced across the Screen. She totally resembles Eartha Kitt (CATWOMAN from Old BATMAN T.V. Series), just put her in a leather Cat Mask, long fingernails, and a shiny suit, and Man, She would be definitely a Kitty Treat!

  • Naw, Eartha kit looks too much like Warf frm Star Trek LOL LOL!!!

  • If I can remember this was a real hit

  • Pretty girl. I was playing this in a rental viper in manhattan in 2004 and I was above the clouds. T'amoe t'amero

  • what happened to her

  • I've wondered that too. This song is dope!!!!!

  • i saw her at the beverly hills galleria late last year. A little bit heavier, maybe about 20 pounds, but still looked really good. she was in a jewelry shop.

  • 0k this song is hot but the "uh's"done by the men in the song is killing it... for real...

  • This was HOTT in the dance clubs in Germany in the 80's!!! Thanks for the post!!!

  • jodie watley is so beautiful

  • R.I.P DJ SUBROC-MUCH KMD LOVE YO!

  • the 80's were soooo much fun

  • I agree

  • The internet, cable TV and satellite TV have killed fun!

  • Its Robbie Nevil

  • Every time I hear this song I think of the song "C'est la Vi (That's just the way it goes)" Remember that song? By Bobby Nevil?

  • Havent heard this for years-then it popped in to my head today! Great song.

  • terrible video, great song lol

  • Comment removed

  • this song was so great when I first heard it in the summer of 1987, the best summer of my life!!!! Still is a great song!

  • Happy Birthday Jody Watley (1/30)!!!

  • before Jody's solo,,,what group was she with ???

  • Jody was an original member of Shalamar from 1977-1983. She sang lead on Take That To The Bank, Right In The Socket and A Night to Remember
